As Vinny Guadagnino deals with the fallout from his recent foray into the world of rap, the AP reports that his fellow 'Jersey Shore' guido, Pauly D (yes, the one with that hair) has hooked up with rapper 50 Cent.

The reality star and DJ said months ago that the pair were working together, and now he has officially signed to 50 Cent's dance and pop music label, G-Note.

Calling Pauly D smart and creative, 50 Cent said he's a "great addition to G-Note and [the] G-Unit family."

Usually, when the first guest slides down to the couch on 'The Tonight Show' (Weeknights, 11:35PM ET on NBC) to make room for the next guest, they keep to themselves. They may occasionally chime in with some banter, but Pauly D wasn't prepared for Christina Applegate.

While Jay Leno was talking to the 'Jersey Shore' star about working an event for Kim Kardashian, he kept insinuating that Kim and Pauly had a relationship that went beyond professional.

"Now is that still going on with the new husband?" Leno asked, implying a sexual relationship.

"She's my friend. She's a really cool girl; the whole family," Pauly said, and then Applegate's voice could be heard abruptly saying, "Yeah, right."

Blown-out hair, drunken fighting, and dubious romance have been the tent poles of the 'Jersey Shore' phenomenon (not to mention the gym, tanning and laundry). DJ Pauly D talked about two out of three with Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb on 'Today' (weekdays, 7AM on NBC) , covering Snooki's love life and his own rock-hard hair.

Gifford mentioned that she had given Snooki some motherly advice to stop giving herself away to so many guys, and asked Pauly if Snooki had taken her words to heart.

Pauly said she had. "Snooki's a real great girl," he said. "I mean, she was looking for the right one, but for a girl, it kind of looks bad when you're looking a lot." Pauly said he wanted to screen Snooki's suitors, because she was "like a little sister to me now." He said he approved of Snooki's current man, and was also looking for a woman of his own.
