'Late Show': Barbara Walters' Most Fascinating Includes Trump, Kardashians (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Dec 14th 2011 3:46AM
Barbara Walters, 'Late Show with David Letterman'Barbara Walters joined David Letterman on 'Late Show' (Weeknights, 11:30PM ET on CBS) to discuss her "10 Most Fascinating People of 2011." Letterman mused that he was surprised the Syrian president wasn't on the list, but Donald Trump was.

"Whatever you think of him, the man is fascinating," Walters said. "The day after someone else is elected, Donald Trump is still going to be saying that he's the candidate."

When she asked if he liked the Kardashians, another curious entry, Letterman stammered for a while and finally said, "I'm gonna do you a favor. I'm taking them off the list." Her segment with the Kardashians should be interesting, as Walters interviewed them back in September.

Donald Trump Provides the Answer on 'What's America Worth?' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Nov 14th 2011 6:00AM
Donald Trump, 'What's America Worth?'When you read about the staggering $15 trillion debt that America has racked up, it can lead you to wonder if we'll ever be able to get out from under it as a nation. Just for fun, Donald Trump and the Discovery Channel asked the question, 'What's America Worth?' (Sun., 9PM ET on Discovery).

Now this is assuming that the country is basically being liquidated, with all of its assets converted into cold, hard cash, including its citizens. Trump also accounted for that massive debt. But while our natural and rural resources couldn't touch it, we quickly overcame the debt when you factored in our development, military and citizens. Final tally, after paying off that debt: $280 trillion.

Stewart Responds to Trump's Claim That He Was Racist on 'The Daily Show' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Nov 3rd 2011 4:00AM
'The Daily Show with Jon Stewart'Donald Trump thinks Jon Stewart should be taken off the air "for a while" based on a supposed impression he did of Herman Cain on Tuesday night's 'The Daily Show' (Weeknights, 11PM ET on Comedy Central). Stewart spoke in Cain's voice as a continuation of Cain's response when asked if he'd ever paid anyone in regards to sexual harassment claims.

It wasn't one of Stewart's more clear ethnic accents, but Trump was incensed and took to the web to rant about it. Stewart got wind of it and decided that Trump was actually in "a unique position" to pass judgment.

by Catherine Lawson, posted Sep 30th 2011 7:20AM
Kim KardashianYes, according to some people. Kim Kardashian has the dubious distinction of being named "The Most Annoying Celebrity" according to people who voted in Parade.com's poll of irritating famous people.

The reality TV star clinched victory from the no longer "winning" Charlie Sheen. Between them the pair garnered a whopping 56 percent of the votes, proving that a lot of people really do find them annoying.

Seth MacFarlane Will Be Charlie Sheen's Roast Master

by Alex Moaba, posted Aug 11th 2011 12:20PM
If there's anyone with a wit sharp, dry and cutting enough to hilariously deconstruct Charlie Sheen, it's 'Family Guy' creator Seth MacFarlane. Comedy Central announced that MacFarlane will serve as Roast Master at the highly-anticipated Sheen roast set to air Mon., Sept. 19 at 10 PM ET.

MacFarlane has presided over more Comedy Central roasts than any other comedian, also serving as Roast Master to David Hasselhoff and Donald Trump. The Trump Roast pulled in roast-record ratings, and we're pretty sure the Sheen extravaganza will leave those numbers in the dust. Possibly Angel Dust.

"I'm very excited to work with Comedy Central again on the roast. Charlie is a true icon with a talent that is strong and pure and concentrated into small crystals which can be smoked or eaten," McFarlane said in a statement.

Seth Meyers Talks About His Ongoing Feud With Donald Trump on 'Tonight Show' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Jul 13th 2011 4:42AM
Seth Meyers, 'The Tonight Show with Jay Leno'It doesn't look like Donald Trump is quite ready to forgive and forget some jokes Seth Meyers made at his expense when hosting the White House Correspondents Dinner. On 'The Tonight Show' (Weeknights, 11:35PM ET on NBC), Meyers was still gracious about their current relationship status.

Sometime after the White House dinner, Meyers ran into Trump at a charity event and thanked him for being a good sport about the whole thing. Regarding Trump's response, Meyers said, "He held his position. He maintained his position."

We can't help but see that as a very nice way of saying Trump either blew him off or blew up at him, more than likely not over the incident at all. So Meyers said he prefers to remember the good times they had in their past, like when Trump hosted 'SNL' in 2004. Why focus on the negative when you have video of you singing together about a wings place?

NBC Downplays Trump Salary Reports, Sydney Penny Joins 'Days of Our Lives' & More TV News

by Chris Harnick, posted Jun 23rd 2011 3:00PM
Donald TrumpReports of Donald Trump getting millions of dollars from NBC for two more years of 'Celebrity Apprentice' are "inaccurate," according to NBC.

The New York Post reported Trump got a raise from NBC, bringing his and producer Mark Burnett's earnings to a staggering $160 million. Trump would reportedly pocket $65 million a year.

However, NBC is firing back at the report.

"The financial information reported today in regards to 'The Celebrity Apprentice' is grossly inaccurate and has been significantly overstated," the network said in a statement to the Hollywood Reporter. "While it is our policy to keep financial information strictly confidential, neither the production costs of the show nor what Mr. Trump makes personally is in the realm of reality. Donald Trump and 'The Apprentice' franchise remain a key part of the NBC primetime lineup and we are looking forward to another compelling cycle next season."

Katie Couric Thinks Media Covers Palin Too Much, Trump Acted 'Like a Jacka**' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Jun 7th 2011 5:27AM
Katie Couric, 'The Tonight Show with Jay Leno'Katie Couric may no longer be the anchor for the 'CBS Evening News,' but she has plenty of opinions about some of the top political personalities. She talked a little about both Sarah Palin and Donald Trump on 'The Tonight Show' (Weeknights, 11:35PM ET on NBC).

She hit the nail on the head when she said Palin is such a polarizing figure that she's equally fascinating to both her supporters and detractors. "She makes good copy and so they cover her incessantly and maybe more than they actually should," Couric admitted.

When Jay Leno asked her about Donald Trump, Couric indicated that his behavior while he was sort of running for president was aberrant. "He actually can be a very, very nice person with a good heart. But I think he was just acting like a jacka** for a while."

Jon Stewart's Not Sure Donald Trump Is a True New Yorker After Pizza Debacle (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Jun 2nd 2011 5:42AM
'The Daily Show with Jon Stewart'Jon Stewart may not be Italian, but he brought out the Italian New Yorker inside him to defend his beloved city on 'The Daily Show' (Weeknights, 11PM ET on Comedy Central). The offense was virtually everything to do with Donald Trump's lunch with Sarah Palin.

The former Governor of Alaska brought her bus tour to New York City, where Trump decided to treat her and her family to an authentic New York pizza lunch. Only, according to Stewart, he blew it in every sense of the word, from the pizza joint he chose, to the way he ate his pizza.

"It's New York City," he joked. "I hate to use this term this close to Ground Zero, but we're a bit of a Pizza Mecca."

Donald Trump Tells Regis and Kelly About His Sarah Palin Pizza Lunch (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted Jun 1st 2011 1:05PM
Donald Trump phones it in on 'Live With Regis and Kelly'Donald Trump met with Sarah Palin for some pizza and politics Tuesday in New York City. Today, Trump phoned in to 'Live With Regis and Kelly' (weekdays, syndicated) to shed light on his conversation with Palin, Trump's on again/off again aspirations to run for president, and Palin's own plans.

It has been assumed that Palin will seek the Republican nomination for the 2012 election, but she has yet to make any official announcement. Trump said he asked her the question directly. "I don't want to give anything away, but I'm not sure that she knows the answer herself," he said on 'Live.' "She hates what's happening to the country, she hates what's going on with respect to the economy and jobs, and many of the same issues I have."

Regis Philbin asked if a Palin/Trump ticket might be in the offing. Trump said he'd always liked the sound of Trump/Regis, or even Regis/Trump. But Philbin wouldn't have a show to promote come election season once he retires.

John Rich Gets to Have Crazy Conversations With Gary Busey (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted May 23rd 2011 3:45PM
'Celebrity Apprentice' winner John Rich on 'Live With Regis and Kelly'Last night, musician John Rich won 'Celebrity Apprentice,' beating out actress Marlee Matlin. Today on 'Live With Regis and Kelly' (weekdays, syndicated), Rich said that, even more than winning, he got the satisfaction of having Gary Busey's phone number and getting to see Donald Trump wear a cowboy hat.

Rich said that he likes Busey in doses and thinks he has a big heart, but wonders whether the actor is crazy or just putting on a show. Either way, it was an interesting experience for Rich. "It's just kind of cool to know I've got Gary Busey on my cell phone," he said. "If I ever want to just have a crazy conversation, 'Hey Gary, what's goin' on?'"

Rich was also thrilled that Trump tried on a black cowboy hat, and thinks Trump enjoyed it. Rich said Trump told him to make sure the hat winds up in Trump's office. He'll probably just display it there. Cowboy hats mess up your hair.

'The Celebrity Apprentice' Season Finale: And the Winner Is ... (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted May 23rd 2011 2:48AM
Donald Trump, 'Celebrity Apprentice'After a long and memorable season of 'The Celebrity Apprentice' (Sun., 9PM ET on NBC) it came down to just two. Either Marlee Matlin or John Rich would be fired by Donald Trump, with the other becoming the fourth celebrity winner in the most popular format of the reality staple.

Except, The Donald decided to do something a little differently this time around. Rather than fire one of them, he simply declared a winner. Was this a statement as to how much he respected the person who came in second, or just him trying something new?

Of Matlin, Trump said: "You've raised more money than anybody in a single night, over a million dollars. The job you've done is just absolutely incredible." Of Rich, he said, "From the beginning you've been a leader. You've been strong. You've been smart. You've been sharp. I just can't ask for anything more."

Mark Burnett on Donald Trump, 'The Voice' & Why 'Survivor' Survives

by Joel Keller, posted May 20th 2011 2:30PM
Mark BurnettMark Burnett was in a bit of a feisty mood yesterday. It's understandable, given the combination of controversy and great ratings that have been attached to some of the reality shows he produces lately. He's got three currently on the air.

First, there's 'The Celebrity Apprentice,' which is steaming towards its live finale (Sunday, May 22, 9PM ET on NBC), with John Rich and Marlee Matlin facing off for the right to be "hired" by Donald Trump. The show has been renewed for a fifth celebrity season; Trump also recently decided not to run for President, but not without leaving months of new material for late night talk shows in his wake.

Then there's 'The Voice,' which is gaining momentum after a strong start, with the combination of talented singers and red hot judges (Cee Lo Green, Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton) keeping people tuning in.

But when we spoke, we started with his most venerable show, 'Survivor,' which just ended its 22nd season on Sunday. We talked about the decision to bring back 'Redemption Island' for season 23, then moved on to a question that seemed like it would be innocent. His reaction was anything but ...
