Dont Forget The Lyrics
CMT wants more of The Singing Bee
I guess NBC is getting the last laugh. Sort of. Well, not really. Nevertheless, when they first launched The Singing Bee in 2007, the FOX copycat machine was in full effect. In fact, NBC had to push up the premiere of Bee to try and get an edge on FOX's Don't Forget the Lyrics. But while Lyrics has been canceled, Bee is still going strong. Just not on NBC.Actually, by broadcast network standards, it's still doing horrible, but its 1.5 million viewer debut back in June on CMT was enough to make it the highest-rated series debut ever on the network. CMT is so excited with The Singing Bee, they've asked for 20 more installments. The show went country when it switched to CMT, dumping Joey Fatone in favor of Melissa Peterman (Reba) as host, and focusing more on the sad, sad lyrics that make up country music.
If I were NBC, I'd go ahead and get excited about this. Sure, they canceled the show and it was performing horribly for them. But by doing so, they created a big hit for CMT. And they can still claim that their show outlasted FOX's copycat. Sort of. Well, not really.

What to Watch June 8-14
This week on TV: 'Nurse Jackie' premieres, the pros take over 'Top Chef' and WE tries their own version of 'Jon & Kate.'MONDAY, JUNE 8
'Nurse Jackie' (10PM, Showtime) series premiere
There are several moments in the 'Nurse Jackie' premiere we'd like to tell you about, but they're just too good to spoil.
A hint: they involve a severed ear, the people inside a house and one of star Edie Falco's 'Sopranos' cohorts. Falco has shed her gaudy jewels and Joisey girl accent for this dark comedy about NYC ER nurse Jackie Peyton, one of her hospital's most talented professionals ... even when she's trying to score drugs to feed her raging addiction.
In the pilot, Jackie's dealing with the sad death of a patient, a cocky doctor (Peter Facinelli), a newbie she's forced to train and an office romance, all while trying to keep that little drug problem on the down low.

Reality show casting calls
A day hasn't gone by where we haven't received some sort of tip or email asking us, the TV Squad, how to get on [insert reality show here]. Unfortunately no, Simon Cowell does not work for us, and Donald Trump isn't my BFF, so we really can't help all that much.
The folks at RealityWanted.com often send us a list of new and existing reality shows that are looking for new, er, talent, and they've given us permission to make mention of them here. We'll try to make this a regular feature as often as we get a new list.
This time we have America's Next Top Model, Don't Forget the Lyrics and a lot of new shows.

So is the case for Cash Cab, which received a lot of nominations, Crosswords and Jeopardy. After the jump you will find the nominees, listed in alphabetical order, for The Jeopardy Award, along with a poll for the Reader's Choice Award. Both winners will be announced next week.

It's finale time again! No, really.
Holy frik! We've only just started to embrace the return of our shows after a shortened strike season. Now, they are almost over. In the next few weeks all of our network favorites will say good-bye for the summer to be replaced with reality shows, reality game shows, reality soap operas, and Regis on primetime (again).
Needless to say, I'm a bit depressed. As I am sure you are as well. But, we will do our duty and press on. Thusly, we here at the sprawling lakefront offices of TV Squad (you choose the lakefront) have compiled list of when your favorite, and not so favorite, shows will be saying good-bye for their summer vacation. As usual, taking the fickleness of the networks, these times and days can change at a moment's notices. We will try to update you of those changes as quickly as our little fingers can type it out.
So, with a leaden heart, here are your season and series finales.
