Giving sports fans a television outlet will create Fanarchy

Zach SelwynSports fans will get a sneak peek at what is essentially their own show on June 7 at 11pm ET. After that, Versus network's new series Fanarchy will air 10:30pm ET Tuesdays. The show will be hosted by ESPN Dream Job finalist and former AOTS host Zach Selwyn and feature seven armchair quarterbacks each week bitching at one another about whatever topic Versus dreams up. Think of it like sports talk radio only now you can see the sweaty former jocks who think they can still fit into their high school football jerseys.

If Versus is looking for train wreck potential, then they've certainly struck gold here. I don't even think Star Trek and Star Wars fans are as fanatical as a hardcore sports fan. That said, it might be a nice change of pace to hear regular people talking about their take on the sports world as opposed to the rich suits that make up SportsCenter and its ilk. We could hear a lot more "what the hell is he bitching about? He makes 24 million a year while I'm working at Wendy's for eight bucks an hour and I had to go in with a broken ring finger!"
