by Catherine Lawson, posted Nov 23rd 2011 6:30AM
'DWTS' 13 FinaleIn honor of those who are trying to avoid finding out who won 'Dancing With the Stars' last night because they're still planning to watch the finale on DVR, here's the last 'DWTS' !!!SPOILER ALERT!!! of the season. You're welcome, now stop reading.

Everyone else, read on ... It was all smiles backstage last night as the three finalists and their pro dance partners walked the post-show press line. We've all heard the stories of award-winners keeping their trophies in the bathroom or in a dark cupboard, but where does the new 'DWTS' champ plan to keep his/her coveted Mirror Ball trophy?

"Right now I'm going to put mine in bed. I'm going to tuck it in, and it's going to roll around with me. And then after that, once we've kind of grown apart, I'm going to glue it to the hood of my car and drive around ... and honk my horn and it will be my own parade."

'Dancing With the Stars' Season 13 Finale: The Winner is ...

by Crystal Bell, posted Nov 22nd 2011 11:01PM
dancing with the stars season 13 finals winnerIt was a night of tears, a night of surprises and a night that two people will probably never forget.

In what might have been the most evenly matched finale ever, it was anyone's trophy to take home on the Season 13 finale of 'Dancing With the Stars.' And indeed there was a shocker -- at least when it came to the top two.

Going into the Season 13 finale, it really was anyone's Mirror Ball to win -- or lose. Rob Kardashian was on top after a stellar freestyle, while season-long frontrunners J.R. Martinez and Ricki Lake were tied for second, trailing Kardashian by three points after Monday night's performances.

It was an intense 10 weeks for all three contestants, but in the end it all came down to a fight between the most improved of the season and the indestructible fighter.

'Dancing With the Stars' Leader Rob Kardashian Says 'I Really Want That Trophy'

by Catherine Lawson, posted Nov 22nd 2011 6:20AM
Rob Kardashian and Cheryl BurkeWho'd have thought in Week One that the least-known member of the Kardashian clan would be in poll position going into tonight's 'Dancing With the Stars' finale? Yet last night Rob Kardashian and partner Cheryl Burke scored their first perfect 30 for their freestyle dance, which helped put them ahead of fellow finalists Ricki Lake and J.R. Martinez.

Speaking to reporters on the post-show press line last night Rob and Cheryl were elated with their performance, with Rob telling E! Online that their success is due to his increased confidence. "I gained confidence as the weeks went on and took it a little more seriously. I still have fun with it," he said, but "something clicked and I really want that trophy. I really realized it's possible."

Ricki Lake and Derek Hough joked that they've already bought their own Mirror Ball trophy just in case they lose out tonight. "There's a store down the street that makes mirror ball trophies for fifteen bucks," he laughed, "so I've already got that made just in case."

'Dancing With the Stars' Season 13 Finals: J.R. Martinez Stuns and Rob Kardashian Leads

by Crystal Bell, posted Nov 21st 2011 10:30PM
dancing with the stars season 13 finals It's time to play the music ... It's time to light the lights ... It's time for freestyle dances on the 'Dancing' finals tonight.

Yes, that's the theme from 'The Muppets,' slightly altered for this joyous occasion. That's how happy tonight's freestyle dances made me. Seriously. We all know by now that the "Judges' Choice" routines are super boring -- and not all that important in the end -- but the crazy-fantastic free-for-all freestyles? Now that's what we've been waiting for all season, and it was night of surprises on 'Dancing With the Stars.' I don't think anyone could have guessed that Rob Kardashian would be on top of the leaderboard tonight or that Ricki Lake and Derek Hough would underwhelm in the finals.

But the most surprising/fantastic/heart-pounding moment of the night belonged to J.R. Martinez and Karina Smirnoff. The hip-shaking pair stunned the crowd, the judges and themselves with their daring routine -- and it was clearly the best routine of the night, if not one of the best routines the show has ever seen.

Derek Hough on 'Dancing With the Stars' Judges: 'They've Been the Same Since Season 1'

by Crystal Bell, posted Nov 21st 2011 2:15PM
dancing with the stars finals derek houghFor eight seasons, Derek Hough has been the golden boy of 'Dancing With the Stars.' He has won the coveted Mirror Ball trophy all three times he's made it to the finals, and many believe that his work with celebrity partner Ricki Lake this season on the newly redone dance floor will earn him a fourth.

You might be surprised to know, then, that he's not especially worried about extending his perfect record. "Previous seasons, I've definitely felt the pressure to win, like it was mine to lose and, luckily, I won, but this season I don't feel that sort of pressure," Hough tells AOL TV. "I really like everyone that's in the final, and I think whoever wins totally deserves it."

With the grand finale of Season 13 looming (Mon., Nov. 21 at 8PM ET), AOL TV caught up with Hough to talk about his freestyle finale plans, the possibility of new judges and his laid-back new attitude -- one that apparently doesn't prevent him from throwing a few friendly jabs at fellow pro Karina Smirnoff.

Will Maksim Chmerkovskiy Perform on the 'Dancing With the Stars' Finale?

by Catherine Lawson, posted Nov 21st 2011 7:20AM
This season of 'Dancing With the Stars' has had more than the usual amount of controversy, and a lot of it has come courtesy of clearly exasperated pro dancer -- and resident bad boy -- Maksim Chmerkovskiy. He's seemed dangerously close to boiling point all season and last week capped off an on-air altercation with judge Carrie Ann Inaba by dropping the f-bomb when talking about her to reporters.

Although Maks and partner Hope Solo's bad-tempered and uneven run on the show has come to an end, they're still due to perform on Tuesday night's live finale when each of this season's 12 couples returns to the dance floor for a special performance. But will they show up? After their elimination Maks and Hope were conspicuously absent from the post-show press lineup, and he rattled fans by writing in his blog: "What's next for me? I have no immediate plans at the moment. I'm not even sure if we're going to be at the finale!"

More Backstage Drama at 'Dancing With the Stars'

by Catherine Lawson, posted Nov 16th 2011 6:40AM
'DWTS' S13 semi-finals eliminationThis season of 'Dancing With the Stars' has its share of controversy. We've had Nipplegate, injuries, accusations of nepotism, dancers feuding with judges, dancers feuding with each other ... Now it's been reported that the strain of last night's semi-finals elimination all proved to be just too much for one dancer.

Each week the dancers go backstage and chat to reporters on the post-show press line, but last night one couple was conspicuously absent. According to E! Online, one half of the eliminated couple "was so upset about [their] elimination from the competition that she was unable to hold it together for interviews."

!!SPOILER ALERT!! If you don't know want to know who was eliminated last night, you might want to stop reading right about now.

'Dancing With the Stars' Semi-Finals and Week 9 Elimination (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Nov 16th 2011 12:00AM
'Dancing With the Stars' eliminationThe most bittersweet elimination of the season took place on 'Dancing With the Stars' (Tue., 9PM ET on ABC). To come one week shy of the finale is absolutely brutal, but each of the remaining contestants was all smiles. Simply making it this far is quite an achievement, and all four have proven themselves talented and worthy of their place.

!!SPOILER ALERT!!

This week Hope Solo struggled the most with the judges, but J.R. Martinez wasn't so far ahead on points that a surge of public support couldn't save her. Rob Kardashian and Ricki Lake were probably feeling pretty safe, but we've seen bigger surprises in the past.

'Dancing With the Stars' Season 13 Semi-Finals: Hope's Attitude and J.R.'s Injury

by Crystal Bell, posted Nov 14th 2011 11:35PM
dancing with the stars season 13 semi-finals After tonight, I'm not sure the 'Dancing With the Stars' judges want Maks to continue on this season -- or any other season. Things got pretty awkward during the judges' critiques of Hope Solo and Maks' sexy-but-clumsy Argentine tango. When Carrie Ann started to criticize their sloppy lifts, she called out Maks for smiling.

"That's fine, Maks, you can go ahead and keep smiling," she said, thinking that the professional looked a little too smug for her liking. Maks looked visibly stunned. I was pretty stunned too. I'm still not sure what she meant. Was he smiling inappropriately?

Well, this didn't exactly go over well with Hope, who, after weeks of tension, exploded. "Maks was smiling because we should be smiling," the soccer star told Brooke Burke. "So Carrie Ann, thank you, Maks was smiling. This is my partner. Finally, we're happy!" Maks tried to stop his partner from making his previous mistake, but the damage was already done.

Unfortunately, for Hope, Carrie Ann wasn't smiling when she gave the pair an 8.

'Dancing With the Stars' Week 8 Elimination (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Nov 9th 2011 12:30AM
'Dancing With the Stars' Week 8 EliminationThis week was the Final Five's last chance to impress the judges before next week's semifinals round on 'Dancing With the Stars' (Tue., 9PM ET on ABC). But with America helping to steer the decisions, only J.R. Martinez and Karina Smirnoff likely had a restful night's sleep after the season's first double perfect scores.

!!SPOILER ALERT!!

Nancy Grace and Tristan MacManus again scored the lowest overall total from the judges, just as they had last week. But whereas last week the gap between Grace and David Arquette was only three points, this week there were seven points separating her from the next lowest scorers, Rob Kardashian and Cheryl Burke.

Nancy Grace Talks Conrad Murray Verdict: 'I Wish it Had Been Murder One'

by Catherine Lawson, posted Nov 8th 2011 7:15AM
Nancy Grace, 'DWTS'Last night Nancy Grace had more on her mind than just her low scores on 'Dancing With the Stars.' Talking to reporters backstage afterward she was more preoccupied with the guilty verdict that had been handed down to Conrad Murray just a few hours before. And, being Nancy Grace, she had a zinger or two to let us know how she really feels about it.

"Well, once I found out it was a guilty verdict that's really all I needed to know," she told OnTheRedCarpet.com. "I only wish it had been murder one, because murder one deserves life behind bars, not four years."

Discussing Murray's future prospects, Grace told 'THR': "When he gets out, I got news for him ... God's gonna get him. He's gonna be mis-er-able. He can run but he can't hide. Hey! He and Casey Anthony can have a tea party in four years."

J.R. Martinez Says 'DWTS' Last Night 'Was an Out-of-Body Experience'

by Catherine Lawson, posted Nov 8th 2011 6:15AM
J.R. Martinez, 'DWTS' 13There's been a lot of criticism this season that 'Dancing With the Stars' is becoming nothing but a popularity contest, with dancers getting by on public votes rather than talent. However, in the background each week J.R. Martinez and his partner Karina Smirnoff have quietly been getting better and better. Last night they not only scored the first perfect 30 of the season for their waltz, they went on to score another 30 for their jive.

After recent contentious bust-ups on the show --- Maks vs. Len, Chaz and Lacey vs. Bruno, accusations of favoritism -- it was a welcome return to what the show is all about: Watching hard work pay off in the form of some really great dancing.

So, how does it feel to be the winningest couple on this season of 'DWTS?' Speaking to reporters on the post-show press line, a clearly delighted Martinez thanked Smirnoff for being "an amazing teacher," and he told OnTheRedCarpet.com that in rehearsals he'd "felt really good about the waltz ... and I felt I'd have a good opportunity to do well."

'Dancing With the Stars' Week 8: J.R. Gets Two Perfect Scores & Nancy Falls From Grace

by Crystal Bell, posted Nov 7th 2011 11:40PM
dancing with the stars week 8To quote the lovably looney Bruno Tonioli, it was a night of miracles in the ballroom during this week's 'Dancing With the Stars.' It was the last dance-off before the semi-finals, and everyone brought their A-game. But no one brought it quite like J.R. Martinez. The Iraq War veteran not only scored the first perfect score of the season for his dreamy waltz -- but then he did it again with his high-energy jive. That's a perfect score of 60, and it was just as incredible as it sounds.

This week J.R. was on a mission to dance a perfect waltz, and he most certainly succeeded. The pair got a standing ovation -- before their dance was even finished. J.R. and Karina were absolutely lovely together, so it's pretty fitting that the two would receive that first perfect score of the season. Despite J.R.'s goofy moves in rehearsals, this soldier is in it to win it. His lines were clean, his toes were pointed and he even managed to pull off some pretty impressive tricks (watch out, Derek!).

Chaz Bono and Lacey Schwimmer Blast Bruno Tonioli for Rude Remarks

by Catherine Lawson, posted Oct 26th 2011 7:15AM
Chaz Bono and Lacey SchwimmerHas Maksim Chmerkovskiy talking back to Len Goodman opened up the floodgates for more dancer vs. judge spats? After the furor surrounding the Maks vs. Len bust-up on 'Dancing With the Stars' Monday, emotions were running high on last night's results show, and the spotlight moved to judge Bruno Tonioli vs. Chaz Bono.

After the show, the newly eliminated Bono and pro dance partner Lacey Schwimmer were gracious in defeat, but had harsh words for Tonioli backstage. And Bono's fiercely protective mother Cher came out swinging on Twitter to lambast the Italian judge.

The reason for all the anger? On Monday Tonioli decribed Bono's 'Phantom of the Opera'-inspired performance as "a cute little penguin trying to be a big menacing bird of prey." Coming after a previous critique when he said watching the pair "was like watching a little Ewok dance with Princess Leia," Schwimmer decided she'd had enough. "He got under scored again," she Tweeted, "and tonights comments were the cherry on top. Having a judge refer to him as an animal every Week is so rude and unnecessary."
