EXCLUSIVE Michael Buble & Ed Helms Team for 'Shocking' Christmas Song (VIDEO)

by Chris Harnick, posted Dec 1st 2011 11:35AM
Michael Buble, Ed Helms Christmas VideoWhat's better than a digital short featuring the very charming Michael Bublé? A digital short featuring Bublé and the musically inclined star of NBC's 'The Office,' Ed Helms!

Helms and Bublé teamed up to do three digital shorts for NBC's 'A Michael Bublé Christmas' (Tues., Dec. 6, 8PM ET), but you won't see this one during the actual show. Yep, it's a shocking online exclusive. In the short, Helms and Bublé play hosts of a live 1974 Christmas special that goes horribly wrong.

Why did we say shocking? Well, the sweater on Helms' character does a little more than festively twinkle. Check out the video below.

Top 5 Clips of the Week: Nancy Grace Nip Slip, Urkel in the 'House' & More (VIDEO)

by Alex Moaba, posted Oct 2nd 2011 1:30PM

This week in TV clips was at times horrifying, but ended on a positive note. Last week's 'X Factor Flashing' gave way to the Nancy Grace nip slip. And then Andy Rooney retired, which inspired outpouring of mash-ups saluting his career in grumpy old man musings. Both Ed Helms and Seth Rogen got Jersey Turnpiked by the 'Jersey Shore.' But then Jaleel White came back into our TV lives and set everything back right in the world.

Check out some of our favorite clips from the week that was in TV and vote for your favorite in our weekly poll.

Andy's New Incentive Program Goes Over Big on 'The Office' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Sep 30th 2011 3:00AM
'The Office' - 'The Incentive'Oddly enough, considering the big deal made out of casting James Spader this season, what this week's episode of 'The Office' (Thu., 9PM ET on NBC) proved was that they really don't need him to succeed. The ensemble is so strong by now, they're holding the show together just fine.

That said, Spader was perfect this week. He's there to inspire and terrify the office, and keep everyone on their toes. But Andy has stepped up beautifully into Michael's shoes with a completely different but equal level of awkwardness.

Deena From 'Jersey Shore' Does Jersey Turnpike With Ed Helms (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Sep 29th 2011 3:15AM
Ed Helms & Deena Cortese, 'The Tonight Show with Jay Leno'Jay Leno knew exactly what a Jersey Turnpike was when he asked Deena Cortese about it on 'The Tonight Show' (Weeknights, 11:35PM ET on NBC). He just wanted to hear the 'Jersey Shore' cast member explain the dance move.

When she stumbled around to find the words, he suggested she just go ahead and show him. Luckily for him -- or not, depending on your perspective -- Ed Helms was the first guest, and he was still on the couch, so Deena invited him to dance with her.

The move required very little from him. He simply stood there, while she backed up into him and shook her butt. "That's a Jersey Turnpike?" Helms marveled when it was over. "I had another name for that."

Lonely Island, Michael Bolton, Special Guests Give Hilarious Emmys Performance (VIDEO)

by Alex Moaba, posted Sep 18th 2011 11:00PM
Lonely Island gave a hilarious live medley performance of their hit songs 'Jack Sparrow,' '3 Way (The Golden Rule),' and 'I Just Had Sex' at the 2011 Emmys, which featured a slew of musical guest appearances.

The Andy Samberg-led musical trio had those three tunes nominated for Best Original Song, although they were beaten out by Justin Timberlake's 'SNL' monologue in an award handed out at the Creative Arts Emmys last week. But they were the ones who stole the show at the main event.

Michael Bolton, who was at one point dressed in full pirate regalia, joined Maya Rudolph, John Stamos, Ed Helms and Akon in the star-studded medley.

Lonely Island had three songs up for Emmys -- including '3-Way (The Golden Rule)' -- but lost out to Justin Timberlake's 'Saturday Night Live' monologue.

Ed Helms Is a Dog Molester on 'Wilfred' ... Or Is He? (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Jul 15th 2011 2:25AM
'Wilfred' - 'Acceptance'When it comes to 'Wilfred' (Thu., 10PM ET on FX) it's almost impossible to tell what to believe. Do you ever believe what Wilfred tells Ryan, or is Ryan just hallucinating these conversations? Regardless, this week, Wilfred seemed determined to test their friendship.

In Thursday's episode, Ryan did a better job of treating Wilfred like a dog, attempting to train him with a clicker and a water gun, to mixed results. But it was Ed Helms' creepy turn as a doggie day care worker that really tested their friendship.

When Ryan's sister returned to his life, he tried to mend that relationship, which meant having to find a play for Wilfred to go during the day. Enter Darryl (Helms), who was ever so friendly and sweet to Wilfred upon his arrival.

Ed Helms Can't Keep Up With Jimmy Fallon in a Long Pour Contest on 'Late Night' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted May 25th 2011 5:08AM
Ed Helms, 'Late Night with Jimmy Fallon'There may not be any talk show host who has as much fun with their guests as Jimmy Fallon does on 'Late Night' (Weeknights, 12:35AM ET on NBC). Tonight, he and Ed Helms had their arms tied to a pole so they could compete in a long pour challenge.

With arms fully extended in an airplane formation, they had to hold a bottle of beer in one hand and pour it into a glass held in the other. It's a long way to pour, but Fallon seemed to be quite adept at it. Helms, using the other hand, was floundering.

When Kimmel suggested he maybe switch hands, Helms instead switched tactics completely. Why pour into the glass when you can pour right into the tube they were using to measure how much they'd gotten? But even that wasn't enough.

Cut Skit From Ed Helms' 'SNL' Gig Makes it onto 'The Tonight Show' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted May 19th 2011 5:48AM
Ed Helms & Taran Killam, 'The Tonight Show with Jay Leno'Fans of 'Saturday Night Live' know that not every sketch makes it onto the live show. Several are cut even just before they go to air, having survived through the dress rehearsal.

Because of this, there is tape of most of these cut sketches, and 'The Tonight Show' (Weeknights, 11:35PM ET on NBC) had one from the most recent episode, hosted by Ed Helms.

While the final product was an uneven mix of funny moments and awkward sketches, it's hard to say which category this new sketch would have fallen into. The idea of a compilation of songs to deter kids from having sex on prom night is filled with comic potential.

Helms and Taran Killam were great on the vocals, and the bit of song they performed as the Buchanan Brothers was certainly disturbing enough to turn off all of us, but could it have sustained a full sketch? We actually think it could have.

Jon Hamm and Jimmy Fallon Are the Real Ambiguously Gay Duo on 'SNL' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted May 15th 2011 11:55PM
Jimmy Fallon & Jon Hamm, 'Saturday Night Live'Robert Smigel's signature creation returned to 'Saturday Night Live' (Sat., 11:30PM ET on NBC) with another installment of 'The Ambiguously Gay Duo.' But this time, he took the superhero buddy parody to the next level with a "flesh ray" that turned the entire cast into live-action.

The story was as you'd expect, but made even funnier when you replace the animated Ace and Gary with Jon Hamm and Jimmy Fallon respectively. The costumes, stretching and innuendo were even funnier.

The pair were joined by Steve Carell as Bighead, Stephen Colbert as Dr. Braino, Fred Armisen as Lizardo and Ed Helms as a Two-Face inspired villain. We loved the fight scene between the Duo and the henchmen, but not nearly as much as their "good stretch" with the super-villains looking on.

Jon Hamm and Jimmy Fallon Team Up for Live-Action 'Ambiguously Gay Duo' on 'SNL'

by Jean Bentley, posted May 15th 2011 11:30AM
Ambiguously Gay Duo, Jimmy Fallon, Jon HammIt's been almost four years since we last saw crime-fighting duo Ace and Gary stop a bad guy with a slew of unintentional sexual innuendos on 'Saturday Night Live.' But last night, during the Ed Helms-hosted penultimate episode of season 36, the Ambiguously Gay Duo returned in a very special installment of Robert Smigel's Saturday TV Funhouse.

The cartoon started out normally, but halfway through turned from animation to live-action, with former 'SNL'-er Jimmy Fallon and frequent 'SNL' host Jon Hamm playing the flesh-and-blood superheroes. Stephen Colbert and Steve Carell, who originally voiced the caped heroes, played the live versions of Brain-io and Big Head, with Ed Helms and Fred Armisen as two of their evil counterparts.

Watch the skit after the jump, and tell us: What did you think of the live-action Ace and Gary? What about the rest of last night's 'SNL'?

Saturday Night Live'The Office' star Ed Helms is making his 'Saturday Nigh Live' debut this weekend, and he and 'SNL'-er Fred Armisen really would like you to watch the show.

In fact, along with musical guest Paul Simon, the trio makes up a new gang called The Fun Boys. Or is it Team Fiesta?

We're not quite sure -- watch this week's promo and see for yourself. Also of note: the epic high five that Fredward and Edward attempt (and fail).

Is it just us, or does Helms seem like he'll be an 'SNL' natural?

Rachael Ray Presses Ed Helms For Details on 'Hangover 2' (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted Feb 21st 2011 10:40AM
Rachael Ray and Ed Helms discuss 'The Hangover II'Ed Helms was tight-lipped today on 'Rachael Ray' (Weekdays, Syndicated) regarding details about the upcoming 'Hangover 2.' Ray did her best to weasel a few nuggets out of him, but for the most part, Helms didn't take the bait.

Ray tried to butter Helms up by complimenting him on how good a musician he is, and then asked if he might be doing a musical number in the new film. "I'm just not going to say anything about that," said Helms, who is also one of the stars of 'The Office.'

Ray literally begged for more details. Helms would only respond in vague terms. "Let's just say that fans of the first one will be extremely gratified and excited," he said.

Ray celebrated like she had just broke the Nixon tapes. So, you heard on 'Rachael Ray' first, fans of 'The Hangover' will like 'The Hangover 2.' It's probably similar!
