Edie Falco Talks About Her Style of Mothering on 'The View' (VIDEO)

by AOL TV Staff, posted May 7th 2011 3:00AM
It's Mother's Day this Sunday, so naturally most of the talk shows had celebrity moms on, talking about being mothers. Single-working mom Edie Falco was on 'The View' (weekdays, syndicated) Friday and talked about her particular style of mothering.

She pulls no punches with her two kids and let's them know that she has to take time away from them to do what she has to do, which is act.

"It never feels right," she said, "and I've gotten used to that." But, she added, "Trust me, you don't want me around if I don't have a job. I'm not a nice person. It's what makes me, me. And the good stuff about me, as their mom, is partially because I'm able to take time away and do the stuff that feeds me. I can't say it's right but it's surely right for me."

We're sure Falco's kids understand. Specially if they watch 'Nurse Jackie.'
