Season 4 of 'Being Erica:' 10 Things You Need to Know
by Annette Bourdeau, posted Sep 23rd 2011 3:00PM
It's about 4:00PM, and I'm watching Erica and Adam laugh over beers at a pub in Ireland.
Well, OK. Toronto is actually filling in for Ireland, and I'm watching Erin Karpluk and Adam Fergus film a scene for Season 4 of 'Being Erica.' Yes, all you Adam haters. He's back in Season 4, and happier than ever. And Adam Fergus, the affable actor who plays the handsome Irishman, hopes that those of you who didn't take to him at first have come around. "He challenges her, it's hard for audiences to get over that," he says.

There's still hope, though. Fergus says his Twitter mentions got friendlier and friendlier as Season 3 progressed. If he has his way, by the end of Season 4 everyone will be firmly aboard Team Adam. He's certainly got his work cut out for him. "People have very strong opinions about who they like for Erica," observes Karpluk, adding that people still ask her about Kai (Sebastian Pigott).

When Erica Strange returns for season 3 of SOAPnet's cult hit 'Being Erica,' she's running from the police and cutting open a vein (figuratively) as she deals with the depressing realization that almost everyone in therapy must face: She is not her doctor's only patient. The drama/fantasy series tells the tale of Erica Strange, who, with the help of the mysterious Dr. Tom, is able to travel back into time so she can re-examine past events that have shaped the woman she's become.
At the conclusion of season 2, viewers saw Erica's life was left in disarray. No job, no boyfriend. Now Erica moves in a new direction as she enters a form of group therapy where she is introduced to Adam, played by new series regular Adam Fitzpatrick, who's caring for his gravely ill mother.
We spoke to star Erin Karpluk about what to expect from season 3, which premieres tonight at 11PM ET on SOAPnet.

Canadian TV export 'Being Erica,' which follows the misadventures of a woman in therapy, is returning to SOAPnet for its third season. Erica Strange (played by Erin Karpluk) doesn't just "go" to therapy; instead, her therapist makes it possible for her actually travel back in time to relive the events in question. Joining Erica this season is Adam Fitzgerald (played by Adam Fergus), another time-traveling patient -- and more than likely a love interest.TV Squad took a moment to chat with Karpluk and Fergus about what this upcoming season has in store, why this show seems to have international appeal, and whether or not romance blooms at therapy.
Why You Should Give 'Being Erica' a Try
by Allison Waldman, posted Feb 28th 2010 2:01PM
There are so many channels on television today that you may not have noticed a wonderful little hour drama on SOAPNet called 'Being Erica.' If you like 'Drop Dead Diva.' If you go for the characters on 'Glee.' If you care about stories for women but don't go for the Lifetime TV movies. If you can appreciate the differences between American TV and Canadian TV, 'Being Erica' is for you.Starring Erin Karpluk as Erica Strange, a 32-year-old literary editor and wannabe writer, she's a mass of complications in the tradition of all romantic comedy heroines. But 'Being Erica' has a fun, mystical twist to the standard situations we've seen on other shows before.
