'Bob's Burgers' Cast Talks Getting Animated & Big Guest Stars (VIDEO)

by Maggie Furlong, posted Jan 21st 2011 11:00AM
'Bob's Burgers' is the most appropriately inappropriate addition to Fox's Sunday night animation lineup in a long time.

Following burger dive proprietor Bob (voiced by H. Jon Benjamin) and his family of misfits -- including wife Linda (John Roberts) and children Louise (Kristen Schaal), Gene (Eugene Mirman) and Tina (Dan Mintz) -- the show isn't afraid of a little weird (like Louise's ever-present and adorable bunny ears) and a lot of awkward (daughter Tina, voiced by a man, had a serious case of itchy crotch in episode one).

I caught up with the cast to find out a little more about their characters, which big names are lending their voices to the show and what's next for Bob and his possibly inhumane/possibly human burger meat.

Fox Orders 13 Episodes of 'Bob's Burgers'

by Michael D. Ayers, posted Dec 1st 2009 2:30PM
Fox has announced a new addition to its Sunday night animated comedy bloc.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the network will serve up 13 new episodes of 'Bob's Burgers.' The show is based on Loren Bouchard ('Dr. Katz, Professional Therapist,' 'Home Movies') and Jim Dauterive's ('King of the Hill')12-minute presentation, with a voice cast that includes H. Jon Benjamin, 'Flight of the Conchords' alum Kristen Schaal (pictured), Eugene Mirman and 'Important Things with Demetri Martin' writer Dan Mintz.

The show centers around Bob, a struggling burger joint owner, his "tightly wound wife" and their three reckless kids. Bouchard told the Reporter that the original idea was to write a show about a family of cannibals, but the latter aspect was ultimately dropped -- probably for the best, considering the family runs a burger joint.

Comedians of Comedy special hits Comedy Central next month

by Adam Finley, posted Aug 6th 2007 8:01PM

comedians of comedySome of us here are big fans of the Comedians of Comedy, a collection of various comedians (the core group consists of Patton Oswalt, Brian Posehn, Maria Bamford, Eugene Mirman and Zach Galifianakis) who play small rock clubs and similar venues rather than the usual comedy clubs.

Patton Oswalt recently posted on the comedy site A Special Thing that a brand new DVD, The Comedians of Comedy: Live at the Troubadour, would be released on October 2. What's even cooler, or maybe just equally as cool, is that the entire concert will be shown on Comedy Central's Secret Stash, completely uncensored and uncut, on September 29.

Flight of the Conchords -- an early look

by Julia Ward, posted May 17th 2007 9:08AM
Flight of the Conchords PILOTHad I known that television shows were just going to premiere all their pilots online well before their air dates, I wouldn't have had to move all the way to Los Angeles for the insider privilege. But, we, the internet savvy, are being rewarded for our pop culture geekitude with such treats as HBO's online premiere of Flight of the Conchords over a month before its broadcast on June 17th at 10:30PM. You can watch New Zealand's "fourth most popular folk parody duo" in their stateside series debut on the show's MySpace site or, starting Monday, at HBO.com.

Zach Galifianakis on tour

by Julia Ward, posted Nov 2nd 2006 1:01PM
Zach GalifianakisThe furriest member of the Comedians of Comedy and Dog Bites Man team Zach Galifianakis is embarking on a fall tour.

If you've missed out on Galifianakis' more recent outings, you may remember him from the short-lived VH1 talk show Late World with Zach.

If you haven't seen Galifianakis live, you're in for some of the most experimental stand-up to hit the stage since Andy Kaufman took Carnegie Hall out for milk and cookies.

Finally, a sequel to Backdraft

by Adam Finley, posted Feb 22nd 2006 12:19PM

backdraftierYou might think that fifteen years is too long to wait to make a sequel to Backdraft, but that's only if you're Ron Howard. If you're alternative comics Eugene Mirman, Jon Benjamin, and Sam Seder, you forge ahead and make a sequel anyway, despite not really knowing a whole lot about the original film. It's called Backdraft II: Backdraftier, and I haven't seen anything this funny in quite some time. Please, won't you share in my joy? Mirman explains he wanted to make sequels to movies that didn't need a sequel. That makes absolutely no sense, and that's why it's brilliant.
