Top 5 Clips of the Week: Rooney's Final 'Few Minutes,' Lilly's Gassy Past & More (VIDEO)

by Alex Moaba, posted Oct 8th 2011 12:30PM

Our favorite TV clips from this week ran the full gamut of emotions, and were filled with contradictions. J.R. Martinez's 'Dancing With the Stars' tribute to fallen soldiers was uplifting and emotional, a solid rebound after the horror of last week's Nancy Grace nip slip. Andy Rooney's '60 Minutes' sign-off was grumpily sincere, while Evangeline Lilly's story about farting on an airplane passenger was gross but oddly charming.

Meanwhile, Snooki throwing wine bottles at the Situation was, like most things that happen on 'Jersey Shore,' sadly entertaining. Finally, Hank Williams Jr. comparing President Obama to Hitler ... well, that was just absurd and unoriginal.

Check out the clips after the jump and vote for your personal favorite in our weekly poll.

Evangeline Lilly Almost Announces Her Baby's Name, But Ferguson Ruins It (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Oct 7th 2011 5:30AM
Evangeline Lilly, 'The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson'People anxious to know the name of Evangeline Lilly's baby almost got the answer on 'The Late Late Show' (Weeknights, 12:37AM ET on CBS). She was seriously considering making the announcement, until Craig Ferguson basically talked her out of it.

He reminded her that there had already been an announcement, when he and Geoff announced their intention to run for president. Lilly asked if she could be the First Lady, unaware that it was Geoff who was running for president, so she'd have to marry him.

"Hey, Freckles," Geoff cooed at her when she looked his way, referencing her nickname from 'Lost.'

Evangeline Lilly Admits to Farting in a Passenger's Face as a Flight Attendant (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Oct 4th 2011 4:15AM
Evangeline Lilly, 'The Tonight Show with Jay Leno'If you are one of those people who likes to maintain a healthy fantasy about certain celebrity women, elevating them to near perfection in your imaginings, you might not want to watch this clip of Evangeline Lilly on 'The Tonight Show' (Weeknights, 11:35PM ET on NBC).

But if you like a woman who keeps it real, Lilly does just that when talking about her time as a flight attendant. Particularly, in appreciating the power that flight attendants have over your experience, and how they can use it for good ... or bad.

In her case, she had a guy she described as "really awful to me." To his misfortune, she also happened to be unusually gassy that day as well, so she decided to solve two problems with one move.

Evangeline Lilly Wants to Undress on 'Late Late Show' (VIDEO)

by Aimee Deeken, posted Jun 3rd 2010 7:35AM
Evangeline Lilly Wants to Undress on 'Late Late Show'After all those years filming 'Lost' in Hawaii, one would assume Evangeline Lilly knows how to surf. Well, she "attempts to surf," she tells Craig Ferguson on 'The Late Late Show' (weeknights, 12:37AM ET on CBS).

"Do you wear a little outfit for surfing?" asks the host. "I happen to be wearing it under my dress right now," says Lilly. "Do you wanta see it?"

Of course he does! But then she waffles back and forth. "It was a bad idea ... I should, shouldn't I? I should take my dress off." Responds Ferguson: "You're confusing."

The two also reference the 'Lost' finale, cussing, dating and Ferguson's book. And her interview includes interjections from a robot "Geoff." Uh, yeah, confusing.

Jimmy Kimmel's Funny 'Lost' Alternate Endings (VIDEO)

by Aimee Deeken, posted May 24th 2010 4:40AM
Alternate 'Lost' Endings on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live'In many ways, the characters of 'Lost' have been on one long, harrowing season of 'Survivor' -- except enduring on the island is a matter of life and death, not popularity votes. Jimmy Kimmel makes this all too real with a couple of hilarious alternate endings on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' (weeknights, 12:05AM on ABC).

"I'm sorry, Sayid, the tribe has spoken," says 'Survivor' host Jeff Probst, as he follows the reality-TV show's protocol and snuffs out Sayid's torch.

In his exit interview, Sayid lashes out: "I did not spend five years in the Republican Guard ... get drowned in a pond, take a bomb to the stomach on a submarine to get eliminated by Jeff [beep] Probst."

Then 'Lost' creators Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse are shown brainstorming some more series endings and come up with a parody of a parody. It's like the finale of 'Newhart' -- which itself was a spin on 'The Bob Newhart Show' -- except his wife Emily isn't in bed beside him. There's this young brunette going on about polar bears...?

'Lost' - 'Across the Sea' Recap

by Jason Hughes, posted May 12th 2010 1:15AM
Titus Welliver, 'Lost' - 'Across the Sea'(S06E15) "And now for something completely different." -- 'Monty Python's Flying Circus'

Here's an idea. Say you've got four-and-a-half hours to go before you're all done with a story that's been six years in the telling. How about you take the first of those hours and throw out all the rules you've established for the season as far as storytelling techniques go.

Skip all the main characters of the series, we don't need to see them. Instead, tell your story with only three main characters -- and one peripheral, but important, one.

Creators Lindelof and Cuse have always made bold strokes when it comes to how they've chosen to reveal the mysteries of 'Lost.' This week, it was time to unravel the secrets of Jacob and the Man in Black. And in respect to their importance, we'll devote the entire hour to their story.

Evangeline Lilly Falls Asleep, Misses Final Shot on 'Lost' (VIDEO)

by Donald Deane, posted May 11th 2010 2:45PM
Strange happenings and misfortunes are par for the course on 'Lost,' and, apparently, such things happen to the 'Lost' cast in real life too. Evangeline Lilly appeared on 'The View' (weekdays, syndicated) and described how she inadvertently fell asleep on the last day of filming, and lost the original letter that Sawyer wrote to the con man responsible for his parents' death.

David Letterman Gets a Little Handsy with Evangeline Lilly (VIDEO)

by Aimee Deeken, posted May 11th 2010 6:20AM
Letterman Gets Grabby with Evangeline LillyApparently David Letterman doesn't remember one of Evangeline Lilly's previous visits to the 'Late Show' (weeknights, 11:35PM ET on CBS). But thanks to her wearing a chain-mail dress, he won't be forgetting Evangeline's latest segment anytime soon.

At first, the 'Lost' actress feigned being insulted and threatened to walk off the show, saying, "You don't watch my show and you don't remember my segments? I'm outta here."

Then her attention quickly shifted to the dress she was wearing, the front lined with wiry loops like chain mail. "You wanta feel it?" she asked Dave. Did he ever. His fingers lingered on the material, and Evangeline struggled to wriggle out of his grasp.

Three Reasons Why 'Lost' is the Greatest Show You'll Never Watch on DVD

by Bob Sassone, posted Apr 7th 2010 4:08PM
Lost DVDLast night's episode of 'Lost' was excellent, wasn't it? For the first time this season it seems like we can finally see where the show is headed. The pieces are finally coming together.

We don't know yet who is going to live or die (or even if "live" or "die" mean the same thing in this 'Lost' world) or what it ultimately all means, but last night was certainly a true turning point. Of course, the writers could still throw us a curve and we could find out that alternate-reality Desmond is actually a robot from the future obsessed with cheddar cheese, but it looks like the final handful of episodes will give us a real conclusion.

It's one of the greatest shows in TV history, and I'm probably never going to watch it on DVD.

'Lost' - 'The Package' Recap

by Jason Hughes, posted Mar 31st 2010 2:03AM
Yunjin Kim, 'Lost' - 'The Package'(S06E10) Sun and Jin. Star-crossed lovers no matter what reality you're in. But their relationship certainly isn't at the same point on Oceanic 815 in the beta-verse as it was in the alpha-verse; despite things looking rather similar when Jin was yelling at Sun to button up her blouse. How dare she show her sternum! It is rather titillating, isn't it?

Korean was flying everywhere in both realities this week, as alpha-Sun and alpha-Jin continued their molasses-paced efforts to reunite on the island. Meanwhile, we got a hint as to what it's like to be inside alpha-Sayid right now, and it doesn't seem like a place I want to go anytime soon.

As expected, the beta-verse adventures of Sun and Jin coincided nicely with Sayid's beta-adventure, meaning that we got to see the other side of the story that led to Jin being tied to a chair in that restaurant storage room.

Claire Attacks Kate on 'Lost' (VIDEO)

by Jane Boursaw, posted Mar 17th 2010 7:18AM
Lost, Claire attacks KateOne of the best scenes in last night's 'Lost' (Tue., 9PM ET on ABC) occurred when Claire (or whoever she is) attacked Kate, as a dazed Sayid looked on. He's just not right, but some people on the show aren't getting that. Anyway, no one is who they seem to be.

Loved seeing Locke go off on Claire, grabbing her by the scruff of her neck (sort of), tossing her like a sack of potatoes, then slapping her. "I'll deal with you in a moment!" he said.

It must be loads of fun for these characters to play alternative characters on the show. They really get to stretch their acting chops.

Watch the video after the jump.
