Evangeline Lilly Almost Announces Her Baby's Name, But Ferguson Ruins It (VIDEO)
by Jason Hughes, posted Oct 7th 2011 5:30AM
People anxious to know the name of Evangeline Lilly's baby almost got the answer on 'The Late Late Show' (Weeknights, 12:37AM ET on CBS). She was seriously considering making the announcement, until Craig Ferguson basically talked her out of it.He reminded her that there had already been an announcement, when he and Geoff announced their intention to run for president. Lilly asked if she could be the First Lady, unaware that it was Geoff who was running for president, so she'd have to marry him.
"Hey, Freckles," Geoff cooed at her when she looked his way, referencing her nickname from 'Lost.'
Evangeline Lilly Admits to Farting in a Passenger's Face as a Flight Attendant (VIDEO)
by Jason Hughes, posted Oct 4th 2011 4:15AM
If you are one of those people who likes to maintain a healthy fantasy about certain celebrity women, elevating them to near perfection in your imaginings, you might not want to watch this clip of Evangeline Lilly on 'The Tonight Show' (Weeknights, 11:35PM ET on NBC).But if you like a woman who keeps it real, Lilly does just that when talking about her time as a flight attendant. Particularly, in appreciating the power that flight attendants have over your experience, and how they can use it for good ... or bad.
In her case, she had a guy she described as "really awful to me." To his misfortune, she also happened to be unusually gassy that day as well, so she decided to solve two problems with one move.
'Lost' - 'The Package' Recap
by Jason Hughes, posted Mar 31st 2010 2:03AM
(S06E10) Sun and Jin. Star-crossed lovers no matter what reality you're in. But their relationship certainly isn't at the same point on Oceanic 815 in the beta-verse as it was in the alpha-verse; despite things looking rather similar when Jin was yelling at Sun to button up her blouse. How dare she show her sternum! It is rather titillating, isn't it?Korean was flying everywhere in both realities this week, as alpha-Sun and alpha-Jin continued their molasses-paced efforts to reunite on the island. Meanwhile, we got a hint as to what it's like to be inside alpha-Sayid right now, and it doesn't seem like a place I want to go anytime soon.
As expected, the beta-verse adventures of Sun and Jin coincided nicely with Sayid's beta-adventure, meaning that we got to see the other side of the story that led to Jin being tied to a chair in that restaurant storage room.
Claire Attacks Kate on 'Lost' (VIDEO)
by Jane Boursaw, posted Mar 17th 2010 7:18AM
One of the best scenes in last night's 'Lost' (Tue., 9PM ET on ABC) occurred when Claire (or whoever she is) attacked Kate, as a dazed Sayid looked on. He's just not right, but some people on the show aren't getting that. Anyway, no one is who they seem to be. Loved seeing Locke go off on Claire, grabbing her by the scruff of her neck (sort of), tossing her like a sack of potatoes, then slapping her. "I'll deal with you in a moment!" he said.
It must be loads of fun for these characters to play alternative characters on the show. They really get to stretch their acting chops.

'Lost' - 'Sundown' Recap
by Jason Hughes, posted Mar 3rd 2010 2:20AM

(S06E06) In a season where all the answers are supposedly being given, I actually appreciate that I still have no idea what's coming next on 'Lost.' With twelve episodes left to go, it's certainly not necessary for me to be spoon fed all the answers right now. If they did that, why would we keep watching it for the next two-and-a-half months?
This week, in the alpha-verse we were treated to the promised confrontation at the temple. It certainly didn't go down the way I expected, but it still blew my mind. Claire and Kate wound up facing off, with all the expected tension, and all hell broke loose in the temple. As I said, from the closing seconds of 'Sundown,' I can't even speculate what's going to happen next, and I love that.
Sayid was the focus of the episode, both on the island and in the rewritten beta-verse reality. In both of them he seems to be fighting a darkness within himself. It was certainly the darkest flash-sideways we've seen yet.
The Smoke Monster Gets Angry on 'Lost' (VIDEO)

Smokey the bandit or bear or Locke or whatever it is made an appearance on 'Lost' (Tue., 9PM ET on ABC) last night. Seriously, that thing is like the worst demon of 'Supernatural,' 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer,' and 'True Blood' all put together. And, apparently, it only makes matters worse if you hang out in a temple. We're just glad our heroes have some smooth moves left in them.

Getting to Know... Evangeline Lilly
by Chris Jancelewicz, posted Feb 22nd 2010 6:20PM
'Lost' actress Evangeline Lilly is the stuff of men's dreams. It's no coincidence that the Canadian is cast in a show where her skin shows (amply) for about 60-70 percent of the time. It's hard to believe that this is the woman whose career started off with a bit part in 'Freddy vs. Jason'. Amazing.Sawyer Planned to Ask Juliet to Marry Him on 'Lost' (VIDEO)
by Jane Boursaw, posted Feb 10th 2010 1:31AM
Awww ... that is so sad! Sawyer was planning on asking Juliet to marry him on 'Lost' (Tues., 9PM ET on ABC). He had the ring and everything. As he tells Kate about it, the mournful feeling in our hearts is as much for Kate as Sawyer. She's never had that "one true love" feeling that Sawyer had for Juliet. But perhaps reuniting Claire with Aaron will help soften the blow for her.

A Lost Television Moment
by Stephanie Earp, posted Feb 2nd 2010 10:17AM

In 2000, I decided to go back to school and finish my degree. In case you're wondering, I took classics and women's studies, and I'm sure you can tell it served me well. That summer I arrived on campus about three weeks before school started, and one Sunday I headed to the campus pub hoping to make some new friends.
It was August 23, 2000, just a little after 8 pm.
I made no friends that night. Instead I practically had to jump up and down in front of the bartender to get her attention away from the television. The bar was packed and utterly silent. Everyone was watching what I now know was the second-highest rated finale of the decade, that the people in bar were only a handful of approximately 51.7 million viewers watching the 'Survivor' season finale. And I knew I was completely and hopelessly out of it.

Lost's final season won't answer all of viewers' questions - TCA Report
by Joel Keller, posted Jan 12th 2010 10:01PM
Right before the Conan "piss off, NBC" letter exploded all over the place, ABC had started their day at the TCAs with the critics' full attention. Why? Because the first panel of the day was the last time that the producers and crew of Lost would be in front of the critics answering questions about their confoundingly complicated show.It almost felt like a collective valedictory speech, as the cast was given a chance to talk about their biggest memories from six years of shooting the show in Hawaii, and EPs Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof waxed poetic over what they think the legacy of the show is going to be.
But the big takeaways? The final season is not going to answer every question surrounding the show. The story arc this year will be told in a way that might not actually confuse anyone who's decided to finally jump on board and watch. And Lindelof's reaction to the possibility that the premiere might be pre-empted by the State of the Union address was priceless.
What if Lost were a sitcom from the nineties?
by Eliot Glazer, posted Jun 18th 2009 6:07PM
Lost fanatics, rejoice! We may still have, oh, more than half a year left before we get cheerfully dumped with a load of new episodes (::drool::), but in the meantime, we have DVD's, abc.com, repeats on SyFy, and YouTube!Yes, YouTube.
Well, technically, we can't get our fix of full episodes on "the Tubez," but the site still provides us with plenty of fodder; fan dedications, clip montages, and music videos galore. Let's face it: people love their Hurley birds, smoke monsters, and everlasting, cancer-conquering romances. And why shouldn't they?
Right now on Cinematical
by Kona Gallagher, posted May 31st 2009 12:21PM
The folks at our sister site Cinematical are working hard to give you news and reviews of the best -- and worst -- the silver screen has to offer. Here are some of their musings on the latest blockbusters, indies, and everything in between:
- I'm always up for a good Dwight Schrute bobblehead, but a Terminator one? I'm not sure I really get the appeal there.
- I get more than enough of Evangeline Lily on Lost, so I'm definitely not sitting around wishing she was in more movies. However, she made the Cinematical Seven: TV Stars Who Should Be In More Movies (female edition) list. See who else made it over at Cinematical.
- Apparently fans have been up in arms about Jonah Hill remaking 21 Jump Street, saying that he was going to make it into a comedy. I loved 21 Jump Street, and I had no idea it wasn't a comedy already.
- I haven't seen Sam Raimi's newest horror flick, Drag Me To Hell yet, but I fully intend to. See what rating Cinematical readers are giving it.
- Cinematical is even suggesting you make it a double-feature weekend, seeing both Drag Me to Hell and Pixar's latest film, Up. Having seen Up, I highly recommend this. It is an amazing movie that will have you in tears throughout the entire thing (but was still really funny!).
