Along the way he recruited a bunch of misfits along with football player Finn, who had a crush on fellow glee clubber Rachel, but couldn't act on it because he was dating Cheerio Quinn. Did we mention that Quinn was pregnant with what Finn thought was his child but really belonged to his friend Puck, who also joined the glee club? Oh, and Rachel and Finn got together, broke up, got together and broke up again.

What My Kids Are Watching: Shark Week
by Sandie Angulo Chen, posted Aug 2nd 2010 1:00PM
It's a sacred week in my house -- otherwise known as Shark Week on Discovery. In the hierarchy of annual milestones, Shark Week -- which is celebrating its 23rd consecutive year on the air -- ranks only lower than Christmas and birthday but definitely higher than any of the non-gift-giving holidays.
It's even more anticipated than ABC Family's annual Harry Potter Marathon Weekend, because at the end of the day I can recreate that marathon with our personal stash of DVDs, but no one can recreate the excitement, the awe, the occasional terror that comes along with Discovery's annual shark extravaganza.
Family TV Guide: 'The Bachelorette'
by Jane Boursaw, posted Jun 30th 2010 7:00PM

Airtime: Mon., 8PM ET on ABC
FCC Rating: TV-14
Jane's Rating: OK for kids 14+
Let's call 'The Bachelorette' what it is -- a sleazy and salacious show where people line up for their 15 minutes of fame. Any aliens passing by Earth while the show is airing will no doubt realize they're the superior race, and continue on their journey seeking out new worlds with whom to partner.
As I wrote in my PopEater piece last week, the people who go on 'The Bachelor' and 'The Bachelorette' aren't looking for true love, and the statistics prove that. In 14 seasons of 'The Bachelor' and five seasons of 'The Bachelorette,' only one union with the final person at the rose ceremony has resulted in marriage: Trista Rehn and Ryan Sutter. They were married in December 2003 and now have two children.
Family TV Guide: 'The Secret Life of the American Teenager'
by Jane Boursaw, posted Jun 14th 2010 6:00PM

Airtime: Mon., 8PM ET on ABC Family
FCC Rating: TV-14, D (for intensely suggestive dialogue)
Jane's Rating: OK for kids 11+, as long as parents talk with them about the show
ABC Family's tagline these days is "a new kind of family" and, apparently, that includes families where the teenagers are having sex. Whether that mirrors real life or not, the network definitely seems to be going for an edgier vibe lately, leaning more towards The CW than the Disney Channel.
Family TV Guide: 'Glee'
by Jane Boursaw, posted May 25th 2010 1:30PM
Show: 'Glee'FCC Rating: TV-14 (L, D)
Airtime: Tues., 9PM ET
Ok for Ages: 14+
Hot Spots: Lots of sex talk, suggestive behavior and some language
When 'Glee' premiered last fall, I was excited for a lot of reasons. For one thing, I love musicals, and the early teasers of the cast singing Journey's 'Don't Stop Believin'' made me giddy. Yes, I thought, I HAD, in fact, stopped believin', and maybe it was time for me to dig back to those days when I actually believed and start believin' again.
