Giuliana Rancic Speaks Out About Her Cancer Battle (VIDEO)
Yesterday morning Giuliana Rancic stunned Ann Curry and the 'Today' show audience when she revealed live on-air that she has breast cancer. Now she has spoken candidly to her 'E! News' co-host Ryan Seacrest about her diagnosis and her decision to take something so private and place it out there in the public domain.
Speaking to Seacrest via satellite from New York Monday night Rancic said that she was "a nervous wreck" before going on-air, but that she's glad she did it.
"I feel like such a heavy weight has been lifted off my shoulders. I've been keeping this secret from a lot of dear friends for a while now and it's nice to get it out there and not hide anymore."
Rancic also hopes that by going public with her battle she can help educate women about the importance of regular breast exams and screening.
Joan Rivers is still working for E!
There have been three constants in this late stage of Joan Rivers' career. First, her project will involve her daughter Melissa. Second, she will work for E! Entertainment. Third, it will involve interviews on the red carpet of some awards show. All three of these are true in her new series of Fashion Police specials for E! Although in this case, Melissa Rivers is a producer and won't generally be appearing on screen.
I remember her best as the voice of Dot Matrix in Spaceballs. I did watch her Comedy Central Roast and found it to be lackluster. After all the plastic surgery, I'm surprised she can even move her mouth anymore. It's frozen in a grin like Jack Nicholson's Joker.
I'm fascinated to know why Joan Rivers' red carpet interviews are so popular that E! keeps asking her back. Does anybody out there watch and like the interviews? Isn't it like watching a train wreck?

American Idol (8PM, Fox)
Just when you think 'American Idol' can't get any bigger, it does. The first season averaged 12.7 million viewers; last season averaged over 30 million. A whopping 36 million watched Taylor Hicks triumph over Katharine McPhee in the finale. Some people are predicting a drop this year, but most of 'em are envious executives at other networks. 'Idol' is a cultural juggernaut. Deal with it.

Shark: Fashion Police
(S01E06) The best part of this episode was seeing Stark operate in Shark-mode in advising his daughter how to deal with her school even after she's admitted her guilt. This is good meaty territory for Woods to explore his character. Stark still thinks the best way he can demonstrate fatherhood skills is to fall back on his professional skills. He has got a disconnect in terms of when it's okay to lie, that doesn't go unnoticed by Julie. Stark likes to believe the line is wherever he wants it to be. As he later tells Martin: "If it were a crime to be rich and hypocritical, they would have locked me up years ago."TV Squad Hot Topics
