'Rescue Me' Season Premiere: Tommy Shoots Up a Bar (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Jul 14th 2011 6:09AM
'Rescue Me' - 'Mutha'The final season of 'Rescue Me' (Wed., 10PM ET on FX) kicked off in explosive fashion. After a five month jump, we're treated to almost a full hour where it seems like almost everyone is going to be happy and smiling.

Sheila and Janet are getting along like best girlfriends. We were convinced Sheila's advice about Janet not wanting sex during this pregnancy was some kind of scheme, but she was right on the money. How long can we really trust her, though? With that history, come on!

Everything was going well at the fire house -- hell, there weren't even any fires! -- and Black Shawn was ready to pop the question to Colleen. The only potential wrinkle was when Tommy found out Colleen was working at a bar; not the best idea for a recovering alcoholic.

'Lost' - 'Everybody Loves Hugo' Recap

You can certainly tell that we've turned the corner on this final season of 'Lost.' Suddenly, the alpha-verse and beta-verse seem to be on a collision course with one another, and I'm very intentionally using that expression. With Desmond on the loose in both universes now, things have gotten a lot more interesting, even if I'm still not 100% clear what either of his motivations are.

As expected, the beta-verse Hurley is every bit the financial success with Mr. Cluck's that the alpha-verse Hurley could never quite manage. What was alpha-Hurley's deep-rooted desire, if I'm going to continue that theory, that the beta-verse fulfilled? He said many times that he didn't want the millions he won in the lottery, but I think it was his never-ending plague of bad luck that he really wanted to get rid of. Trying to shed his winnings was just a means to his desired end.

A Lost Television Moment

by Stephanie Earp, posted Feb 2nd 2010 10:17AM

In 2000, I decided to go back to school and finish my degree. In case you're wondering, I took classics and women's studies, and I'm sure you can tell it served me well. That summer I arrived on campus about three weeks before school started, and one Sunday I headed to the campus pub hoping to make some new friends.

It was August 23, 2000, just a little after 8 pm.

I made no friends that night. Instead I practically had to jump up and down in front of the bartender to get her attention away from the television. The bar was packed and utterly silent. Everyone was watching what I now know was the second-highest rated finale of the decade, that the people in bar were only a handful of approximately 51.7 million viewers watching the 'Survivor' season finale. And I knew I was completely and hopelessly out of it.

Harold Perrineau and Cynthia Watros to appear in Lost's last season - TCA Report

by Joel Keller, posted Jan 12th 2010 1:01PM
Lost: The Final SeasonDuring the fun session for Lost this morning, executive producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse announced that two favorite cast members will be seen on the show's last season. And since they announced this in front of a room full of 200 reporters, it's safe to talk about it here:

Cynthia Watros, who played Libby, and Harold Perrineau, who played Michael, will both be appearing on the show this season. How and why they will appear, of course, is a secret. Cuse and Lindelof even joked about it, with Cuse going "All your Libby questions will be answered," and Lindelof countering, "No, they won't."

More on the lively panel later.

Review: Monk - Mr. Monk Goes Camping

Well, after the past couple of shows -- especially Monk's reunion with Sharona -- I was imagining that the final season of Monk was sprinting to the finish line, delivering some final hours that would be up there with the best ever for the series.

Then Adrian went camping. This might be one of the weakest Monks of all time. The funniest thing was the title, which was where the inspiration began and -- sadly -- ended. Nothing worked. Monk and children? No. Monk in the woods? No. Monk and the grizzly bear? Do you even have to wonder? More after the jump.

Monk: Mr. Monk's Favorite Show (season premiere)

Somewhere Sherwood Schwartz was smiling if he watched this season premiere of Monk. Or else he was calling his attorney to sue for copyright infringement. I think it was more likely the former, because the tribute to The Brady Bunch was sweet. More on that and the rest of Mr. Monk's return -- for his last season -- after the jump.
