by Jason Hughes, posted Sep 26th 2011 4:30AM
On the season premiere of 'Extreme Makeover: Home Edition' (Sun., 7PM ET on ABC), Ty Pennington and his design team took on the task of rebuilding the Steps-n-Stages Jubilee House for women veterans in need of assistance or a place to stay.In doing so, they touched close to a cause that means a lot to First Lady Michelle Obama, and so she got involved.
In fact, she even made the trip to the build site on the day the family returned to help with some last-minute touches, check out the final product and meet the woman behind Jubilee House.
Jean Smart Joins 'Hawaii Five-O'

The other day when it was announced that Scott Caan would be Danno on 'Hawaii Five-O,' it struck me that this new revamped version of the CBS crime drama was going to be fast-tracked for the fall. It just seems like 'Hawaii Five-O' is this pilot season's 'NCIS: Los Angeles' -- a veritable sure thing. It's even more of a mortal lock today with this addition to the cast: Jean Smart will be joining 'Hawaii Five-O' as Hawaii Governor Pat Jameson. She will be the one person to whom Steve McGarrett has to answer. This is a direct link back to the original series, in which Jack Lord as McGarrett reported to the Governor, then played by Richard Denning.
Oprah's going to take us to Christmas at the White House

If I had a dollar for all the times I've written about Oprah Winfrey in the past few weeks, I'd be able to retire. Well, the O is one busy lady. She's just booked another TV program. On Sunday, December 13, ABC will broadcast Christmas at the White House: An Oprah Primetime Special. Set the DVR for 10 p.m. because that's when President Barack Obama will welcome Oprah into America's grandest national house.Take that, Barbara Walters! Not so fast with that ascension to the upper echelon, Robin Roberts. Back off, Diane Sawyer. Oprah Winfrey has an 'in' with the First Family and that's why she's going to be visiting the Obamas for a tour of what the holidays are like at the White House. This is the first time President Obama and the First Lady are having Christmas there, and it'll be all new to them.
ABC squeals about Obamas' first dance
by Allison Waldman, posted Jan 22nd 2009 2:08PM
When is an exclusive not an exclusive? No, it's not a riddle. The answer is simple -- when everybody has the very same story or image or film. ABC had acquired the exclusive broadcast of President Barack Obama's first dance with Michelle at the Neighborhood Ball: An Inauguration Celebration, which was the first ball that the new First Couple attended. With Grammy-winner Beyonce singing "At Last" just for them, the two danced alone together on stage. However, ABC's first dance exclusive ended up on other networks.
