Dave Grohl Talks Being a Rock and Roll Dad on 'The Daily Show' (VIDEO)
by Jeremy Taylor, posted Apr 12th 2011 8:45AM
The Foo Fighters performed on 'The Daily Show' (weekdays, 11PM ET on Comedy Central) as part of what Jon Stewart called "our latest installment of our band-a-year series." Between the songs "Bridge Burning" and "Arlandria" from the band's new album 'Wasting Light,' Stewart engaged Foo Fighters' front man Dave Grohl in some lighthearted banter about what was going on backstage."I've known you for a long time. You've been a rock star the whole long time. But, dude, not to blow the image -- backstage, it's like romper room back there. There must by 28 little kids," Stewart said.
Helen Mirren on 'Saturday Night Live': How'd She Do?
by Jean Bentley, posted Apr 10th 2011 12:15PM
Last night, 65-year-old Helen Mirren took the Studio 8H stage as one of the oldest 'Saturday Night Live' hosts in history alongside musical guests the Foo Fighters . (Though she is just one year older than last week's host and musical guest, Elton John.)The Oscar-winning actress proved she was game for anything, with skits about Mary Shelley, strip clubs and taxes. Plus, she let Nasim Pedrad touch her breasts.
How did the Dame stack up against her fellow hosts this season? Check out a few of last night's skits and weigh in after the jump.
Dave Grohl Burns Ryan Murphy: Dude, Maybe Not Everyone Loves 'Glee'
by Chris Harnick, posted Mar 18th 2011 2:00PM
Dave Grohl really doesn't want Foo Fighters songs on 'Glee' -- he said so using some very harsh words directed toward the show's creator, Ryan Murphy. The Foo Fighters frontman told the Hollywood Reporter at SXSW that his songs won't be getting 'Glee' cast versions anytime soon. Grohl admitted to having seen approximately 10 minutes of the show before determining that it wasn't his "thing."
"It's every band's right, you shouldn't have to do f---ing 'Glee.' And then the guy who created 'Glee' is so offended that we're not, like, begging to be on his f---ing show ... f--- that guy for thinking anybody and everybody should want to do 'Glee.'"
Top Chef: Foo Fighters

(S05E03) Three episodes in and while Top Chef has been fun with really good challenges and interesting food, something is missing. Or maybe it just hasn't simmered to the surface yet. I'm talking about conflict, drama, hatred. Everybody is just too damn happy with each other. I mean, last night the only nasty interaction was one chef flipping a finger at the other -- which Bravo actually blurred out, give me a break -- and Jamie commenting that she's fed up with Dave. Compared to previous seasons, that's pretty tame. Turn up the heat, guys and gals. Let's see that "too many cooks spoil the broth" energy.
Saturday Night Live: Jon Bon Jovi/Foo Fighters - VIDEOS

(S33E03) "Amy Poehler: 1986": I thought that this was a great choice for a cold open! A young, big-haired Amy Poehler being visited by a magical poster version of Jon Bon Jovi? Fantastic. In general, it was really cute and made me feel a little better about Bon Jovi's hosting abilities. I mean, not that it really mattered because he barely appeared in this episode, not counting the musical performances. Hey, whatever it takes to promote an album, right?TV Squad Hot Topics
