Forrest Gump
Movies on TV: Feb. 1-7

Don't miss Oscar-worthy performances by Denzel Washington and Tom Hanks in two of this week's must-see flicks ...Pixar is usually the studio to go to for great animated flicks.
But 'Monster House' challenges that theory with a clever and hilarious story that the whole family can enjoy. It also features a number of famous voices, so plan your guessing games accordingly.
Also airing this week are films with two Oscar-worthy performances: 'Forrest Gump' and 'Malcolm X.' Hanks won a 2nd Oscar for the sentimental charmer, while Washington inexplicably lost in a close race against Al Pacino. After seeing the three-hour-plus epic, you'll feel our pain.

Valderrama cast in comedy The Emancipation of Ernesto
by Allison Waldman, posted Jun 19th 2008 1:05PM
"This is the first script I've read that made me excited to come back to TV," said the actor about his latest project. The actor is Wilmer Valderrama; the project is a Fox comedy pilot called The Emancipation of Ernesto. Wilmer, who is best-known from his eight seasons on That '70s Show -- a supporting player on the Fox mainstay -- will be front and center on this new one-hour, single camera comedy. He's Ernesto, and Ernesto is a quirky character.
The show is citing two 1979 films -- for starters -- as reminiscent of The Emancipation of Ernesto: Steve Martin's The Jerk, as well as Chauncey Gardiner, the Peter Seller's character in Being There. Why? Well, it's the Ernesto character.
The Office: The Deposition

(S04E08) Tonight, I felt like I was R. Lee Ermey and The Office was Vincent D'Onofrio and this review was the first half of Full Metal Jacket.See, I feel like I've been yelling at The Office now for quite a few weeks, trying to get it into marine-ready shape. Like D'Onofrio's hapless character, the show kept disappointing me with Survivorman parodies and surreal kidnappings. Tonight, though, everything snapped into place and, like Private Pyle, the show started acting like a perfect marine.
Tonight's episode was so good, in fact, I'm actually worried that I'm going to walk in on a homicidal Steve Carell screaming at me: "This is my rifle! There are many like it, but this one is mine!!" More strained analogies (and a glowing review) after the jump...
