'Raising Hope' Stars Tease Sabrina's Reveal, Heading to Vegas & Dream Guest Stars
We've gotten cozy hanging out in the Chance house on 'Raising Hope,' but tonight's episode (Tues., Sept. 27, 9:30PM ET on Fox) has the crew moving on up.
See, Sabrina doesn't really have to work at the grocery store. Truth is, she comes from money -- like sick mansions and fancy yachts kind of money -- and this week the Chance family will get to meet her crazy, gun-toting father Cap, played by the fabulously funny Stephen Root.

I visited the show while they were on location at Cap's mansion to see everyone all dressed up (Virginia's wearing lipstick! Jimmy and Burt are in short-sleeved button-downs!) and to find out what we'll learn about wealthy Sabrina's past.
John Corbett Returns to 'Parenthood,' 'Alphas' Books Major Nerd Bait & More Casting News
John Corbett is reprising his role as Lauren Graham's ex on 'Parenthood' this season. The former 'Sex and the City' stud will drop into town for several episodes as Seth, the alcoholic father of Sarah's character."Just when everything seems to be going well between Sarah and Mark [Jason Ritter], Seth shows up and he's kind of in a darker place than he's been," creator Jason Katims told TVLine. "And so you see Sarah really having to struggle with wanting to help him and be there for him, but also at the same time [be fully present] in this relationship with Mark that's really good and healthy."
Also going on in the Braverman world: Brittany Belt will play Haddie's BFF who disapproves of her relationship with Alex, TVLine reports.

'Raising Hope': Maw Maw Bakes Some Special Christmas 'Cookies' (VIDEO)
It's Christmastime on 'Raising Hope.' And on the new episode (Tue., 9PM ET on Fox), Maw Maw (Cloris Leachman) tries her hand at spreading some holiday cheer, via baking a batch of her special Christmas cookies. Only problem: She didn't "bake" them and they're not "cookies," per se.Jimmy (Lucas Neff) is the first to notice the problem. " ... Um," he says. "These aren't cookies -- they're dirt clods ... with little rocks in them." Meanwhile, her indulgent granddaughter Virginia (Martha Plimpton) tries to smooth things over, via the time-tested "it's Christmas; everyone try to get along" excuse.
As the family members gaze upon the dirt/rock "snickerdoodles" in horror, Virginia provides some not-so-subtle encouragement: "Oh, let her her have this; it's the holidays." True: it is the holidays. And hey -- things could be worse. After all, in the spirit of love and joy, Maw Maw did use little rocks, not big ones. So she's trying, at least ...
Jason Lee Guest Starring on 'Raising Hope' - Set Visit Interviews (VIDEO)
This week, 'Raising Hope' goes rock 'n' roll. Like washed up '80s hairband rock 'n' roll. Guest star Jason Lee -- who starred in creator Greg Garcia's last hit 'My Name Is Earl' -- is playing Smokey Floyd, a has-been rocker who also happens to be Burt's (Garret Dillahunt) musical idol. He's in town "headlining" Grocery-Palooza (Tues., 9PM ET on Fox), if that gives you any indication of how far he's fallen from fame. Need more proof? Just check out Lee's look: that tattered shirt, those python-print pleather pants, that receding hairline and mullet combo. He's almost unrecognizable, so it makes sense that he chose to do this interview in character as Smokey Floyd.
I caught up with old Smokey (who one star says "looks like Bon Jovi's grandpa"), Dillahunt and the rest of the gang at 'Raising Hope' to find out what Grocery-Palooza is all about and how the aging rockstar shakes things up.
'Raising Hope': A Family Picture Is Worth a Thousand Curse Words (VIDEO)
Taking a family photo is always kind of a drag. Little kids are running around and not paying attention to the photographer. Someone invariably blinks or looks away from the camera, right when the picture is shot. Plus, there's the stress of having all your relatives in one room at the same time. And this is what happens if you have a normal family. But the pain is increased a thousandfold if you're part of a completely dysfunctional family ... like, say, the Chance clan on 'Raising Hope' (Tue., 9PM ET on Fox).

Losing a Baby (and the Audience) on 'Raising Hope' (VIDEO)
'Raising Hope' follows the adventures of the Chance family -- specifically, Mr. Jimmy Chance (Lucas Neff), who must raise an infant daughter with the aid of his pretty useless relatives. As we may have mentioned before, we here at 'TV Squad' have some issues with this particular sitcom. And the latest episode (Tue., 9PM ET on Fox) didn't do much to raise our "hopes."The thing about 'Raising Hope' is that every episode has the same premise. Although the Chances are supposed to take care of baby Hope, they're actually really bad at it! Guffaws and chuckles are the intended result. But everything is pitched a little too broadly for our taste.

Review: Lie to Me - Honey

(S02E04) "If we don't do exactly what this guys says, he will kill Cal." - Foster
Looks like it didn't take long for Cal's decision to buy out Zoe to catch up to The Lightman Group. Cash poor, Cal has been relegated to handling simple, pedestrian cases that do nothing more than bring in a paycheck. As the episode opened, there was obviously the possibility that Cal was actually at that singles mixer for himself, but it became clear pretty quickly what he was up to once he started grilling that blonde about marital fidelity.
Lightman looked embarrassed that he had to be doing it, but it did lead to a very heated discussion between him and Gillian. It would have been nice to see them argue a bit more about where their income will come from, but then a case that guaranteed to not pay anything wandered in the front door. Good thing, too, because it turned out to be arguably Lie to Me's strongest episode to date.

Summer Glau isn't the only Terminator alum heading to a high-profile show next season. The cool and creepy Garrett Dillahunt has landed a role on USA's Burn Notice. Dillahunt will play Simon, Michael's super smart new client, when the show returns in the winter. It's unclear whether this is a guest stint or a recurring role, but chances are good that Dillahunt will be sticking around for a while. The actor has made memorable guest stints on Life, CSI, and Law & Order: SVU, and critics praised his recent big screen performance in The Last House on the Left.

(S02E08) There was an interesting framing technique used in this episode. "Sarah's Story" gave way to "Cameron's Story" and so on. Each one happening simultaneously and ultimately coming together to tell a very complete story. I'm a sucker for creative storytelling, so I was all on board with this experiment. In fact, they sacrificed the intro sequence for the story.
I'm not sure if that's a sign that they think there's no need to explain the premise anymore, or just that there was no room for it tonight. We know we're signed up for a full season, and if the show can maintain at least most of its current viewership, it might just be able to survive in the ratings wasteland of Friday night. Unfortunately, it looks like its going to go up against CBS's Ghost Whisperer, generating tremendous buzz with its latest twist.Still, even that isn't as tough as the ridiculously stiff competition on Monday. In fact, FOX is going to make it even worse by dropping House in Sarah Connor's timeslot, followed by 24 come January.
The Sarah Connor Chronicles: Brothers of Nablus

(S02E07) Well, there's definitely a split between the terminators in the future. Even though Cromartie is after the Connors, he destroyed the Ellison model that was sent to replace the original, explaining by saying that Skynet didn't have the faith in the real Ellison to deliver the Connors the way Cromartie did. I'm still not sure what he meant by that. But then later, Weaver seemed genuinely intrigued by this turn of events as well, even asking Ellison if he knows why the T-Ellison may have been sent.
Meanwhile, Cromartie draws closer and closer to deducing the current location of the Connors in his own quest to find them, even enlisting some help from a former "friend" of Allison's Cameron's. This episode was pretty light on the time travel elements, which helped minimize the potential headaches in watching it and trying to figure out how the hell it all connects, but pretty high on the entertainment.
