After many long years, Gene Simmons is finally growing up and ready to settle down with the woman he's known it was going to be the whole time. And finally, the wedding day was here on 'Gene Simmons Family Jewels' (Tue., 9PM ET on A&E).

Shannon Tweed was a gorgeous bride on this day she'd waited so long for. We were a little surprised she left that bit in the vows where she made a commitment to serve him all the days of their lives.

At least Gene understands what it really means, though, because she closed the vows talking about her father's ring which she melted and reshaped into a ring for Gene.

Gene Simmons got into a pretty uncomfortable place at Marriage Bootcamp on 'Gene Simmons Family Jewels' (Mon., 9PM ET on A&E). But, he's proved that he's committed to changing and being a better man and future husband to Shannon Tweed, and so he stuck with it even when things got difficult.

In an exercise, one of the men there posed as Gene's dad, to try and help him work through his emotions there. In the exercise, Gene did learn something valuable about the anger and resentment he feels toward his father for abandoning the family.

Gene Simmons' engagement to Shannon Tweed brought an old friend back into their lives on 'Gene Simmons Family Jewels' (Tue., 9PM ET on A&E). Tony wanted to emphasize to Gene that not only was he doing the right thing, but that he has to cherish every moment he has with the woman he loved.

Both Shannon and Tony's wife Donna had breast cancer scares, but while Shannon came out with a clean bill of health, Donna lost her battle.

"Without the one you love, you have nothing, man, and I don't want you to be lost," Tony told Gene. "All your success, it doesn't mean anything."

Well the media kind of spoiled the answer on 'Gene Simmons Family Jewels' (Tue., 10PM ET on A&E), but for those who didn't keep up with the celebrity news, or just wanted to see it go down themselves, we finally got to see Shannon Tweed's response to Gene Simmons' marriage proposal.

We have to say it is possibly one of the greatest responses we have ever heard to this question. Tweed said through tears and thick emotion, "Who'd want to marry an a****** like you? You're so stupid."

Gene Simmons and Shannon Tweed got married this weekend after living together for 20 years. The wedding ended a year's worth of public bickering that played out on their reality show 'Gene Simmons Family Jewels' and 'Today,' (weekdays, 9AM ET on NBC) where they got into an awkward argument a few days before their show's premiere.

Hoda, Andy Cohen and Khloe Kardashian discussed the up-and-down relationship, and wondered if all the drama, and reconciliation, was an elaborate reality TV setup. Khloe, who knows a thing or two about made-for-TV weddings, said the Simmons-Tweed situation doesn't ring true to her. "That's my only thing, it's just different when you get every single thing on camera," she said.

'Family Jewels' fans have long known that Shannon Tweed said "yes" to Gene Simmons' marriage proposal, which featured in the Season 6 finale.

Now, just ahead of the Season 7 premiere, comes the news that the rocker and his partner of 28 years finally tied the knot this past weekend.

And yes, the 'Family Jewels' cameras were rolling: The nuptials will feature in an episode to be aired later this month.

We watched Gene Simmons propose (finally!) to longtime girlfriend Shannon Tweed back in July and now, instead of settling in for the long engagement some may have expected, the reality TV stars have announced that they're tying the knot next month.

The pair have released a wedding invitation, which reveals that the ceremony will take place on October 1 at The Beverly Hills Hotel in Los Angeles, and that there's a dress code.

"Classy Cocktail Attire Requested ... although we know some Rockstar attire will be worn." (Hey, could that mean that Gene will get hitched in full KISS makeup and boots? We hope so!)

We've already seen the clip when Gene Simmons finally proposed marriage to the mother of his children, Shannon Tweed, in our exclusive sneak preview of yesterday's season finale of 'Gene Simmons Family Jewels' (Tue., 10PM ET on A&E). But before that, there was a hilarious non-proposal.

Gene Simmons asked their tour guide in Belize the best place to propose, and he was advised to do it on top of the main temple. All of that was fine and dandy, until Gene started running up the steep steps like he was in his 20s again.

"I ... am tired," he declared, before stumbling and crawling the rest of the way to the top.

Things are still very tense between Gene Simmons and Shannon Tweed. Even though she did stop in to see him on tour, along with their kids, the tension backstage when the two met was palpable on 'Gene Simmons Family Jewels' (Tue., 10PM ET on A&E).

Simmons seems unsure of what to do to win her over, but we're not sure he's even fully grasped what he's done to be on the verge of losing her. He may understand on some intellectual level, but at a visceral gut level he doesn't seem to fully comprehend her position.

Tweed was there for him in person, but she was hardly there emotionally, and barely there at all. There were long moments of silence. When Gene asked her to stay and have lunch with him, she was quiet. She did not want to go back to his room with him, but did stay with their daughter.

A happy and fun reunion between Shannon Tweed and her old high school boyfriend was more awkward for someone else on 'Gene Simmons Family Jewels' (Tue., 10PM ET on A&E). Gene Simmons joined the pair and was regaled with giggling stories of their misspent youth.

John Puderak was an old friend of Tweed's brother, and he dabbled a little in photography. In fact, he nabbed the first nude shots of Tweed even before she appeared in 'Playboy,' which seemed to come as a bit of a surprise to Simmons.

Tweed was giggling almost constantly throughout this meeting, and leaning into John, as if Gene's discomfort made her happy. Considering the turmoil in their relationship of late due to his own antics with women, she very well may have been enjoying watching him squirm.

While the Simmons family was clearly having fun on their visit to the Dead Sea on 'Gene Simmons Family Jewels' (Tue., 10PM ET on A&E), son Nick seemed to be having an experience that was part enjoyable and part traumatizing. This is because his mother, Shannon Tweed, was having a fantastic time.

First, she liberally applied a rejuvenating mud all over her body. Nick joined in the fun, putting some on his face like warpaint and running down the beach. But he returned to find papa Gene Simmons rubbing the mud on Shannon's posterior ... without the cover of her swimsuit.

This week, Shannon Tweed set up a very special surprise on 'Gene Simmons Family Jewels' (Tue., 10PM ET on A&E). She took Simmons and their son back to his home country of Israel, a place he hadn't been to since he was seven years old.

While there, they got a chance to visit his father's grave, which brought up a whole world of regret for Simmons. Not only had he never visited his father -- though he did send him money -- he barely knew anything about him or the rest of his family.

Simmons broke down in tears as a letter his father had written to him was read at the graveside, thanking him for the money he'd sent and complimenting his children and "woman." He said of Tweed that she must be "one of the most beautiful in the world."

Things took a very serious turn with the return of 'Gene Simmons Family Jewels' (Tue., 10PM ET on A&E) for its sixth season. Gone was the light-hearted tone and silliness that had permeated much of the series, replaced by a relationship that appears to be genuinely collapsing.

In our jaded society, we're quick to say reality television is staged and fake, but this feels very real, and their recent talk show appearances have been less than frendly as well, with Shannon walking out on Gene during one.

Nick and Sophie, who've spent much of their lives seeing their parents as this perfectly blissful union, were suddenly caught in the middle of an emotional rift through the center of their family. As was to be expected, considering the cause of the split, they sided with their mother and even felt Gene should have been the one to leave.

Gene Simmons admitted it was time to grow up and avoid the temptations of the rock and roll lifestyle on Monday's episode of 'The Talk' (weekdays, syndicated on CBS). After a week in which his long-running relationship with Shannon Tweed fell apart on national TV, first on 'Today' and then on 'Gene Simmons Family Jewels,' Simmons made a public plea to win Tweed back.

"For the record," he said, "I love Shannon Tweed. I want to work this out. There's no chance of me ever running out on my kids or Shannon. I will do anything I can to make sure I finally grow up and be a man."

Wayne Brady was also a guest on the show, and said it was a big deal for Simmons to come out and say that publicly, instead of displaying some sort of hyped up bravado. "I applaud you," he said. Time will tell if the man who wrote 'Calling Dr. Love' is willing to call a relationship counselor.

It looks like Gene Simmons' wandering eye (and hands and, er, other parts) finally caught up with him on the season premiere of 'Gene Simmons Family Jewels' (Tue., 10PM ET on A&E TV).

Simmons' long-time partner Shannon Tweed confronted the KISS rocker after spying an online photograph of him cavorting with a pair of blonde babes while he was supposed to be at a "business meeting."

Tweed wasn't joking when she told TV Guide that Season 6 would "show lots of warts this year." After grilling Simmons about his night out, a tearful Tweed said that she was "sick" of living with Simmons and headed straight for the door.
