Darren Criss Stays Mum on 'Glee' Finale, Geoff Stults Gives Hugs & More From Fox's Upfront Party
by Jean Bentley, posted May 16th 2011 11:45PM
No matter how much you ask, Darren Criss won't tell you anything about the 'Glee' finale.Despite the number of times AOL TV pressed him for intel at tonight's Fox Upfront party, he wouldn't spill any details. Of course, that could be because he isn't actually in the episode. He was in New York when the cast visited a few weeks ago to film, so that could've caused some confusion.
"I was here when they were shooting so I just went to say hi," he told us.
Though Criss was spiffed up in a suit when we chatted, earlier he had joined the Dalton Warblers in donning one of those ubiquitous red-piped blazers to sing 'Hey Soul Sister' at Fox's presentation today. Naturally, that led to the most hard-hitting Warbler-related question of them all: How often do those blazers get washed?
"Oh, never!" he joked (we think).

Every single review is going to compare 'Happy Town' with 'Twin Peaks.' This isn't just because both shows involve mysterious goings on with mysterious characters in a small town, it's because ABC itself has been driving the point home in all of its marketing for the show. "From the network that brought you 'Twin Peaks ..." I don't really understand why they're mentioning a TV show that ran on their network over 20 years ago, but maybe they feel they have to connect it to something cultish and beloved.
Is it like that show? I guess. A little. It has that small town mystery vibe. It also has dashes of 'Harper's Island' and 'Salem's Lot,' but those ran on CBS so I guess they can't mention them in the ads.
Geoff Stults on Living in 'Happy Town'
by Michael D. Ayers, posted Apr 28th 2010 1:04PM
Premiering tonight on ABC is a new 'Twin Peaks' -looking drama called 'Happy Town,' where things in small town Haplin, Minn. are thrown into chaos following a gruesome string of murders. At the center of all this mess is Geoff Stults ('7th Heaven,' 'October Road'), who's taking his first lead role as town deputy Tommy Conroy. Joining him on the cast is Steven Weber ('Wings') as John Haplin, M.C. Gainey ('Lost') as his father Griffin and Amy Acker ('Alias,' 'Angel') as Stultz's wife Rachel. TV Squad spoke to Stults about the show's Midwest setting, working with M.C. Gainey and 'Happy Town's creepy factor. 'Happy Town' premieres Wednesday, April 28 at 10PM ET.
'Happy Town' Stars Talk Being Bad, Strange Goings-On & Secrets (VIDEO)
by Maggie Furlong, posted Apr 28th 2010 9:00AM
Don't let the name fool you -- 'Happy Town' has more kidnappings, murders and mysterious residents than a slasher flick. But star Lauren German is adamant about one thing: "It's not a horror show." "But it's certainly thrilling," her costar Sam Neill adds with a smile.
I sat down with German, Neill, Steven Weber, Amy Acker and Geoff Stults to get the scoop on their new show (premieres Wed., April 28, 10PM ET on ABC). "There's lots of strange goings-on in Haplin," teases Weber. "And strange people," Acker chimes in.
Watch our full interview to hear more about Haplin, its residents and ... Charo as a guest star? OK, it's not that strange.

Sneak Peek: ABC's Happy Town
by Bob Sassone, posted Dec 15th 2009 8:03AM
We told you earlier this year about the new ABC mystery series Happy Town. It's from the people who did Life on Mars and is about weird happenings in a small town. OK, that doesn't describe much, but from the extended preview below, it looks like it has a lot of Twin Peaks and a little Harper's Island. It has a good cast, including Sam Neill, Steven Weber, Amy Acker, Geoff Stults, and Abraham Benrubi.
From the network that gave you a show 20 years ago, here's Happy Town
by Bob Sassone, posted Jun 17th 2009 9:14AM
I roll my eyes a bit when a network has to go back about 20 years for a reference that ties into a new show. From the network that gave you Twin Peaks, comes a new town: Haplin, Minnesota. Hey, this show's about a town too! This one is also a mystery, about someone called "The Magic Man," who kidnapped several children years earlier and now might be back and behind a murder and another kidnapping. This has Amy Acker and Dean Winters in it, so I'm definitely going to check it out.
Lifetime nixes ABC's October Road and Men in Trees
by Allison Waldman, posted Mar 20th 2008 10:23AM
This is disheartening. ABC has been looking to Lifetime as a new home for Men in Trees and October Road. Both dramatic series have not as yet been picked up for next year, and now this report makes it clear they are both skating on thin ice. The powers that be at Lifetime were given copies of both shows to review and chose not to pick up either of them. They basically threw the ball back to ABC, forcing the network to decide the fate of these two shows.TV Squad Hot Topics
