There are so many actors in Hollywood who've been around since their childhoods, and yet no one realizes they're Canadian. Such is the case for Caterina Scorsone, who has one of those faces you recognize, but you're not sure from where. This brunette beauty was born and raised in Canada, and is poised to break it big with her latest role.

Introducing...Laura Vandervoort
by Chris Jancelewicz, posted Nov 16th 2009 2:52PM
How many gorgeous blondes can come out of Canada? Many, it seems. The latest is 25-year-old Laura Vandervoort, who plays the beautiful extra-terrestrial Lisa on hit sci-fi series 'V'. Vandervoort was born and raised in Canada, and she has had roles in many of the formative TV shows of our youth, including 'Goosebumps', 'Are You Afraid of the Dark', and 'Road to Avonlea.' It seems the young lady has finally come into her own as an alien, and the buzz south of the border is starting to grow.

Sure, I'll get The Office this week (but borrow someone else's Fringe), but I don't really see anything else that cries out "buy me for your collection!" I'm still waiting for Spenser: For Hire and Ed.

New TV on DVD releases this week

Here are the new TV DVDs, in stores tomorrow.I always find it amusing that a lot of standup specials and documentaries are released on DVD just a day or two after they're shown on television. Jim Gaffigan: King Baby premiered this past Sunday, and here it is for sale on DVD. I guess you could have just taped it (sorry, "recorded it"), though I'm sure there are extras on the DVDs you don't get on the TV special.
I'm just happy Volume 5 of Hannah Montana is out!
- California Dreams - Seasons 1 and 2
- The Fugitive - Season 2, Vol. 2
- Goosebumps - Return of the Mummy and The Scarecrow Walks At Midnight
- Hannah Montana - Vol. 5
