Why just announce the nominees when you can do it with a concert instead? That's exactly what the 'Grammy Nominations Concert Live' (Wed., 10PM ET on CBS) did. And while it didn't go off perfectly, we did get to see at least one surprise that got the on-hand crowd on their feet.

After opening the show with her new hit 'Marry the Night,' Lady Gaga returned to perform an unexpected duet with Sugarland. Their voices went together beautifully on 'You and I.' We love that country continues to collaborate with other musical genres, as when Jason Aldean paired with Ludacris on 'Dirt Road Anthem.'

Al Roker hosts and Tony Bennett, Harry Connick Jr., Beyonce, the Jonas Brothers, David Cook and Rascal Flatts perform, but the real star of this celebration is the 72-foot-tall Norway spruce that will stand in Rockefeller Center.

Tonight, Roker and the other celebs help flip the switch on the tree's thousands of multicolored lights, an event that officially marks the beginning of the holiday season in New York City.

In fact, this year's tree is such a symbol of the holidays that it's getting its own star: a 550-pound Swarovski crystal ornament that will serve as the tree's topper.
