Grey's Anatomy: Didn't We Almost Have It All (season finale)

(S03E25) For all the negative stuff that's been said about Grey's Anatomy this season, I think they turned out a pretty solid season finale. It made sense, stories ended logically, and let's be honest - it was way better than last season's "prom in a hospital" mess. All the bases were covered. The exams, the wedding, the Meredith/McDreamy relationship status, and the race for chief. Of course the one thing on everyone's mind (the identity of Derek's flirtatious bar encounter) was revealed too. I'm not overly obsessed with what happens next. It was just a comfortable ending with some questions that I'm in no rush to get answers to. I like where that leaves us though because it means we can start fresh in the fourth season and hopefully leave behind some of the things that made this season so lackluster.

Grey's Anatomy: Testing 1-2-3

(S03E24) "All rocks. Very typical." - Bailey

Speaking of typical? This episode. But trust me... after last week's spin-off installment of Grey's Anatomy, it was a welcome return to the show that I've come to expect. We weren't left without hints of what transpired last week though. Besides Sloan's incessant desire to know how Addison's week in the sun went, Dr. Montgomery was continually bombarded all episode long with pregnant women. A slap-in-the-face to help us recall what we found out last week - she can't conceive. If this keeps up into next week's finale, it'll make sense though. What better catalyst to send Addison to LA and take Naomi up on her job offer than constant reminders that she has "fossilized eggs?" Frankly, I'm not sure that I care. Addison wasn't in this episode all that much and while that says nothing about the spin-off, it proves that the original will be just fine without her.

Grey's Anatomy: The Other Side of This Life

(S03E22/S03E23) "I'm just saying, it's a relief to be on a "not horny" elevator... you know?" - Addison

Well that's it. We speculated. We ooed and ahhed. We wondered what could possibly be in store for a Grey's Anatomy spin-off starring Kate Walsh's Addison Montgomery. Well now we know and based on my initial diagnosis (doctor lingo!), I have to be honest -- it feels a lot like the exact same show in a different city with different players. Is that a bad thing? I don't think so because we've got a formula that works here. Did I like it? Sure. Did I love it? Well... love is a strong word.

Grey's Anatomy - Desire - S03E21

(S03E21) "There's no fish in my hoo-hoo, but it's certainly not an easy ride." - Meredith

At first I'm not sure I liked this episode and so I did something I don't usually do. I watched it again as soon as I was done viewing it the first time. After that? Wow. For all the naysayers that have been arguing that Grey's has become too soap opera-ish or has lost what it had in season one, this episode has to make you think otherwise. The writing, the intricacies of the plot lines, and the characterization really are still there. It's almost scary how well conceived this episode was because it sets up everything for the final installments of the season.

Cristina and Meredith

(S03E20) This show is generally just depressing enough that it doesn't bother me. Not in this episode. Watch out, because everything and everyone gave you a reason to reach for a Kleenex box. That isn't a bad thing. In the case of Grey's Anatomy, it's probably safe to argue that something is being done right if everyone across America has a little urge to sniffle. All that being said... man, is it good TV or what?

(S03E19) Ehh... not so much. This wasn't exactly the follow-up I was expecting after last week's Close Encounters of The Gizzie. It just felt off. Like that scene in the supply closet? I found myself asking, "Really... those two?" Last week I thought it was great. Not a huge surprise, but it was something fun. Now I feel like I was in bed with them because it's the morning after and I'm being all weird about it too.
