'Dancing with the Stars' - 'Performance #1: Results' Recap

by Michael Pascua, posted Mar 31st 2010 1:25AM
Pamela Anderson channels Marilyn Monroe
(S10E03) We start the first 'Dancing with the Stars' instantly by placing a couple in the bottom two. Pamela & Damien are in the bottom two, while Buzz & Ashly are safe. Instead of our traditional recap, Len critiques the dances in a recap fashion. Nothing out of the ordinary there.

Encore - Nicole & Derek's Jive - The second time around I think I absorbed the performance better. It's still too fast for my taste, and I wasn't fond of the slight Michael Jackson side-by-side choreography. I have the feeling that getting 10s early in the season will be her kiss of death.

While the show is now an hour earlier, the format of the results show didn't change. It basically is a clip, someone's safe, musical performance, someone's safe, repeat.

Anderson Cooper approaching a meltdown over Haiti

by Hemal Jhaveri, posted Jan 19th 2010 10:03AM
Anderson Cooper Yeah, I'm obsessed with CNN right now. After days of being glued to Anderson Cooper 360, it's becoming clear that he's seriously coming off the rails. During last night's broadcast, Cooper seemed to do little reporting and a lot of "ranting" (his words) about the lack of supplies and aid getting to Haiti.

It's honestly riveting. Not only is he airing his frustration at the red tape hindering the process, but he seems to be approaching Katrina levels of pissed off.

Support Haiti relief and Conan with new t-shirt

by John Scott Lewinski, posted Jan 14th 2010 7:30PM
A t-shirt with this logo is available to support Haitian relief. The "I'm with Coco" campaign to honor Conan O'Brien and ravage NBC's treatment of him over The Tonight Show is selling a t-shirt to show support for Conan and to send much-needed relief funding to earthquake victims in Haiti.

Obviously, the shirt's logo is a take-off on the proliferating "Hope" poster stamped on President Obama's campaign. According to the t-shirt's sales page, a portion of the proceeds will go to Haitian earthquake relief services.

That sounds like a great idea, but there's word published about what percentage of sales -- or what dollar amount -- will go to Haiti. I'm not saying it's a scam at all. With more than 111,000 Facebook folks following the cause, there's plenty of eyes watching this effort. I just can't report the financial details on the shirt.

Meanwhile, on the "Save Conan O'Brien" front, there's a rally to show support for the current Tonight Show set for Universal Studios (the current home of Conan) this Friday at noon.
