Max Feels the Holiday Spirit on 'Happy Endings' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Dec 8th 2011 7:30AM
'Happy Endings' - 'Grinches Be Crazy'Most parents are familiar with those homemade coupons that their kids give them. For some reason, Alex continued to do that into adulthood until finally, Dave called her on it in this week's holiday-themed episode of 'Happy Endings' (Wed., 9:30PM ET on ABC).

To prove the coupons were sincere, Alex decided to allow Dave to cash in all the coupons he'd received throughout the year, which included a nice indoor beach party. That became the replacement vacation for Brad and Jane after they gave their trip away to their housekeeper.

Rob Riggle Runs Crazy Over Brad and Dave on 'Happy Endings' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Nov 24th 2011 4:00AM
'Happy Endings' - 'Full Court Dress'There are people we encounter in our lives who are great in those particular moments. But those are the only types of experiences we have with them, and it might be best to keep it that way, as Dave and Brad discovered the hard way on 'Happy Endings' (Tue., 9:30PM ET on ABC).

Short a guy for their pick-up game, they invited Brad's delivery guy Drew (Rob Riggle). He and Brad were totally cool in those brief encounters when Brad signed for a package. But when Drew got out on the court, he really freaked the guys out.

EXCLUSIVE: 'Happy Endings' Spoofs a Popular Reality Show -- Figure It Out!

by Maggie Furlong, posted Nov 22nd 2011 8:40PM
'Happy Endings' - 'Full Court Dress'Alex (Elisha Cuthbert) is taking her love of fashion to the next level on this week's 'Happy Endings,' designing a dress for sister Jane (Eliza Coupe) to wear to a charity event.

In 'Full Court Dress' (Wed., Nov. 23, 9:30PM ET on ABC), the quirky Chicago shop owner reveals that she's been figuring out how to sew with an online sewing class, and the Web site may or may not be a total rip-off of 'Project Runway,'* complete with the second step-cousin of guru Tim Gunn,** Nick Gun, as the instructor.

(*For legal purposes, we should probably say that it isn't a rip-off. Even though it is.)
(**There's really no relation whatsoever.)

We've got the exclusive sneak peek at the blinking, flashing, fluorescent mess of a Web site for Situation Walkspace. Let's take a look, shall we? And fair warning: Get ready to be suffocated by the cutting edge of fashion.

Alex Is Mistaken for a Man at a Halloween Party on 'Happy Endings' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Oct 27th 2011 2:00AM
'Happy Endings' - 'Spooky Endings'In order for this guy on 'Happy Endings' (Wed., 9:30PM ET on ABC) to think that Elisha Cuthbert's character Alex is a man, he must be incredibly drunk or legally blind. We don't care what her voice sounds like -- it's hoarse and low from being sick -- she is far too beautiful a woman to be mistaken for a man.

This was at a Halloween event, and Alex wasn't even dressed as a man, or even in a gender-neutral costume. She was dressed as Marilyn Monroe and clearly a woman, sporting cleavage and everything!

by Stephanie Opella, posted Oct 10th 2011 7:45PM
'Good Day LA' (weekdays, 9AM PT on Fox) interviewed the cast of 'Happy Endings' in a segment that started out awkward and stayed right on track until the end. Gigi Graciette was on set with the gang and during introductions, referred to Damon Wayans Jr. as Damon Winans Jr.

"I'm actually CeCe Winans' son," he quipped. Steve Edwards, Jillian Barbarie and Lauren Sanchez, who were phoning in from the studio, laughed hysterically at Gigi's expense.

What to Watch: TV Picks for September 26 - October 2

by Stephanie Earp, posted Sep 27th 2011 10:10AM

Suburgatory - Wednesday September 28, 8:30PM ET/PT, Citytv/ABC

A little bit 'Mean Girls,' a little bit 'Easy A,' this new sitcom goes for the fish-out-of-water gambit, when a single dad (Jeremy Sisto) pulls his precocious teen daughter out of Manhattan and settles them both in a suburban town where the social scene is even more broken. The father-daughter relationship is as warm and lovely as anything on 'Modern Family' and many of the jokes are just as funny. Plus Cheryl Hines is hilarious as a woman trying very hard to be Barbie.

Talking TV Podcast Takes On 'Sons of Anarchy,' 'Happy Endings,' 'Alphas' and 'Awkward.'

by Maureen Ryan, posted Sep 1st 2011 2:30PM
Things are ramping up on the podcast front as the fall season approaches. But before we're deluged with the comedies and dramas that premiere later in September, Ryan McGee and I thought we'd take another look at three shows that premiered earlier in the year, and one veteran that's returning for its fourth season.

We discussed 'Alphas,' the Syfy drama I recently re-reviewed here, in the first quarter of the podcast. Then we talked about 'Happy Endings' and 'Awkward,' both which I recently wrote about as well (and there's a bit of 'Wilfred' chat at the end of the comedy portion of the podcast). Finally, we moved on to a 20-minute (non-spoilery) discussion of the fourth season of 'Sons of Anarchy.'

The running times for the podcast are below.

Taking Another Look at ABC's 'Happy Endings'

by Maureen Ryan, posted Aug 29th 2011 2:30PM
We're in the dog days of summer -- the brief calm period before the fall frenzy begins -- so I thought I'd use this week to take another look at shows I won't be able to pay much attention to when new programs begin rolling out in a couple of weeks.

First up is ABC's 'Happy Endings,' an ensemble comedy that premiered in the spring and returns Sept. 28. You could almost say it's a summer show -- ABC, in its infinite wisdom, randomly aired a new episode Aug. 24, because that makes a ton of sense. Yeeesh. Thanks for the freebie, ABC, but I mainly used Hulu and iTunes to catch up on the show's first season in recent days.

The verdict? Late in its debut season, 'Happy Endings' was far less shrill and better calibrated than it was when it first premiered, and I could see why it got renewed.

Could Pushing Daisies wind up as a movie?

by Allison Waldman, posted Jan 14th 2009 2:03PM
PDaisiesI don't know about you, but when creator Bryan Fuller talked about concluding all the story threads from Pushing Daisies as a comic book, I was less than enthused. Now, however, I've got renewed hope.

No, ABC is not even mentioning bringing Daisies back. They're not even committing to broadcasting the last few episodes. But Kristin Chenoweth thinks Pushing Daisies might be a movie. That's right, the show could/would/should be wrapped up as a movie in her estimation.
