Heidi Montag's Guests Nearly Ruin Soft Opening on 'Famous Food' (VIDEO)
Guess who's not going to win 'Famous Food' (Wed., 8PM ET on VH1)? With the finale next week, and the grand opening in this week's episode, this was the time to step it up and prove why you're the best celebrity business partner possible for this venture.Heidi Montag didn't even begin to do that. Then, at the soft opening, her own friends and PR team made things worse by apparently "performing" for the camera. You have to think that most of Heidi's publicity in recent years has been negative, so that must be what her team cultivates and thinks works.
So they went into a very dramatic monologue about how horrific the food was, and yet no one else there was having such a problem. Then, when Heidi was confronted with this news, she simply denied the reality of it.
Heidi Montag Has No Idea How to Wait Tables or Tend Bar on 'Famous Food' (VIDEO)
Heidi Montag clearly has no idea what restaurant work is really all about. When the gang from 'Famous Food' (Wed., 8PM ET on VH1) went to a working restaurant to get some training, she first decided that as a waitress, it would be better if she drank with the customers."The more fun I am and the better time I'm having, the more fun the customers are having, and therefore the more money I'm making for everybody," she explained. But the restaurant boss wasn't nearly as supportive as she expected, sending her behind the bar.
Unfortunately, this proved to be an even worse idea. "When I'm behind the bar, the goal is to be entertaining, sell drinks and draw crowds," Montag said. She proceeded to try and throw drinks like in the movie 'Cocktail' to disastrous results.
Danielle Staub and Vincent Pastore Fight Like 'Desperate Housewives' on 'Famous Food' (VIDEO)
'Famous Food' (Sun., 10PM ET on VH1) is just getting under way, and already the celebrities are at each other's throats. More specifically, former 'Soprano' Vincent "Big Pussy" Pastore and former 'Real Housewife of NJ' Danielle Staub were at each other's throats. The way they were going at it, if anyone tuned in and didn't recognize them, they'd just assume they were some bickering old married couple. The genesis of the spat was over what to do with the kitchen.
Staub said to gut it, while Pastore said they were planning to spend $200 toward cleaning it. Then Staub said he was interrupting her, and he should wait until she'd finished before he attacked.
'Famous Food' Cast Photo: Yep, This is Real
We've been chronicling the creation of VH1's 'Famous Food' as any self-respecting rubber-necker might do, and the latest tidbit from the trainwreck-in-the-making, an official cast photo, won't disappoint. In what many (we) are calling a reality show apocalypse, Danielle Staub, Heidi Montag, Jake Pavelka are teaming to open a restaurant. The cast also includes Ashley Dupre (call girl to New York's former governor Eliot Spitzer, but VH1 lists her as a "singer"), Oscar-winners DJ Paul and Juicy J from the Three 6 Mafia and 'Sopranos' veteran Vincent Pastore.
The cast will have to complete tasks to get the restaurant (titled Famous Food) off the ground. Restauranteurs Mike Malin and Lonnie Moore of the Dolce Group will award one lucky "celeb" with a partnership stake in the new restaurant.
The show premieres Sun., July 10 at 10PM and you bet your bottom we'll be watching this gem.

Dan & Jessi Talk Final Season of 'The Hills'

'The Hills' is alive... but not for much longer.
The cultural phenomenon that sparked a generation of non-reality reality shows is launching its sixth and final season starting on April 27, with a spectacular summer series finale planned. Many are rejoicing the demise of the show, practically chomping at the bit to send Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt into the sunset. Others aren't so happy... though we're not sure who you are.
Some of the final episodes include Montag's plastic surgery being revealed to her mom, the cast dealing with substance abuse, and Audrina Patridge dating Ashlee Simpson's reality TV ex, Ryan Cabrera. There has been some teasing in regards to the return of Lauren Conrad, but MTV makes no promises.
We sat down to talk candidly with Dan & Jessi from MTV Canada's 'The After Show' about the end of 'The Hills,' and what the remaining fans have to look forward to in the next few months.

Henceforth, Montag will be known as "White Wolf" and Pratt will be called "Running Bear."Watch the video after the jump.
'The Hills' Final Season Trailer: Drugs, Plastic Surgery and New Romances
All good things must come to an end, even 'The Hills.' Ladies and gentlemen, what we have here is the trailer for the final season of the MTV reality hit.
We've watched them love, live and grow -- and in Heidi Montag's case get loads of plastic surgery. This trailer opens with footage from simple times, times before plastic surgery and sex tape rumors. That alone was enough to make us nostalgic for the days of Whitney and Lauren sitting around the offices of Teen Vogue, but then -- BAM! -- new footage that got us excited (don't judge).

'The Hills' Is Dunzo After This Season
How will the hipsters of Los Angeles know which hot clubs to frequent now? EW.com exclusively reports that MTV reality series 'The Hills' will end its six-season run this summer."I think we've told the story of struggle and of finding yourself in L.A.," 'Hills' creator Adam DiVello says. "A lot of these kids have found themselves and have certainly embarked on different careers and different paths."
The show, a spin-off of another MTV reality hit, 'Laguna Beach,' gets credit (blame?) for unleashing not only Lauren Conrad on pop culture, but also the ubiquitous TMZ fixtures that are Audrina Patridge, Spencer Pratt and his newly-plasticized wife, Heidi Montag.
In fact, the first episode of the final season (premiering Apr. 27) will focus on Montag, as she heads back to her Colorado hometown to reveal her drastic (and much maligned by fans and the media) plastic surgery makeover to her mother.
Leno Bids Farewell to 'The Jay Leno Show' (VIDEO)
After months of late-night drama with Conan O'Brien and NBC, last night Jay Leno finally bid farewell to his recently canceled prime-time series 'The Jay Leno Show.' He left the show with a few zingers (watch out ,Heidi Montag) and gags from Donald Trump and Ashton Kutcher, and played catch with recently retired NFL quarterback Kurt Warner. In all, it seemed to be a cheery and upbeat -- if quiet -- goodbye.Of course, we use the word "goodbye" lightly, as Leno will be returning to 'The Tonight Show' after the Olympics.
Lauren Conrad Dishes on Heidi Montag's Plastic Surgery (VIDEO)
'The Hills' star Lauren Conrad appeared on 'Good Morning America' (weekdays, 7AM ET on ABC) and dished on co-star Heidi Montag's decision to undergo 10 plastic surgery procedures in one day. "I think it's a personal choice," Conrad said. "I think everybody's different. Everybody needs to do what's good for them."

On 'The Bonnie Hunt Show' (weekdays, syndicated), 'The Hills' star Kristen Cavallari offered her opinion on co-star Heidi Montag, who had a whopping 10 plastic surgery procedures in a single day, including breast and butt augmentation, brow lift, a second nose job and liposuction."I've known Heidi since she was 18 and I've seen this transformation ... it's sad," Cavallari said.

Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Joan Rivers Defend Heidi Montag (VIDEO)
On 'The View' today, Joy Behar made a joke about Heidi Montag's intelligence, prompting Elisabeth Hasselbeck to jump to Heidi's defense. "You can't just say someone is stupid and ditzy because she happens to have highlights and has an issue here," said Hasselbeck. Joy then felt so bad that she offered to adopt Heidi as penance.
And on 'The Wendy Williams Show,' Joan Rivers offered her input on the ten surgeries Heidi had in the same day. "I was shocked and appalled because she only paid $30,000!"

Best TV of the '00s: Celebrities
More of our best of the decade coverage, which started on Tuesday. You can read the other posts at the link above. Here, we talk about a very aught-like phenomenon: the cult of celebrity.
There is no clearer metaphor for the concept of being a celebrity than the Hollywood Walk of Fame. You work hard to chase your dream and achieve a career for yourself by making your name known to the masses of the universe.
Then when you've grabbed that star and become a regular fixture in the flash bulb of the press' cameras, how does the public honor your tireless toil and efforts? They throw you down on a sidewalk and walk all over you.
In the Aughts, however, a new celebrity oozed out of the primordial muck. A celebrity that still suffered the slings and arrows of the tabloid press and a complete loss of the right to privacy, but achieved their stardom by simply cutting out all that pesky hard work and tireless effort nonsense. These are the celebrities who became famous by simply because they were famous.
