Leah Remini, Holly Robinson PeeteAfter weeks of speculation, Holly Robinson Peete announced that she has officially been released from her contract at 'The Talk.'

"After weeks in limbo, I was finally 'officially' given word from CBS today that I have not been picked up for the 2nd season of 'The Talk," she wrote on her website. "I realize there have been several reports and 'leaks' for sometime to this effect but until today I was not contractually released which prevented me from moving on and finding other work. While I am relieved to have this closure, it doesn't diminish my disappointment one bit about not continuing with a show I worked very hard to launch and love dearly."

Peete thanked her fans and CBS for the ability to raise awareness about raising autism and special needs children.

Costar Leah Remini was released from her contract a week ago. Meanwhile, Molly Shannon and Kris Jenner have both signed on to guest host this season.

'The Talk' Loses Hosts Leah Remini and Holly Robinson Peete

by Maggie Furlong, posted Aug 15th 2011 8:40PM
Leah Remini & Holly Robinson PeetePeople are certainly talking about 'The Talk,' but it's not necessarily a good thing.

A few weeks back, rumors swirled that Sharon Osbourne would be leaving 'The Talk.' While Osbourne herself told us she was just taking a little break to spend time with her husband Ozzy, it looks like the same can't be said for two of her co-hosts.

Leah Remini and Holly Robinson Peete are reportedly not returning to CBS' daytime chat show for its second season.

According to Deadline and sources close to production, the talk show will be undergoing several changes next year. Contract options were renewed for series creator and co-host Sara Gilbert and her fellow 'Talk'-ers Julie Chen (who's married to CBS boss man Les Moonves) and Sharon Osbourne.

The options for Remini and Peete were not picked up, though there's no word yet on whether they'll remain with the show in a more limited capacity.

A Bananas Foster Food Fight Breaks Out on 'The Talk' (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted Aug 11th 2011 7:00PM
Leah Remini, Duff Goldman, and Holly Robinson Peete make up after a food fight on 'The Talk'Bananas Foster is tasty, and its ingredients are surprisingly easy to throw. That's what Holly Robinson Peete, Leah Remini, and chef Duff Goldman (from 'Ace of Cakes') found out on 'The Talk' (weekdays, syndicated on CBS) during a segment that was supposed to be about cooking. Or at least assembling deserts. But it quickly became more about disassembling deserts when Goldman started sprinkling some of the ingredients on Remini's head.

Remini wasn't having it. "You know what?" she said, turning to Peete, who was holding a frosting sleeve. "Don't play with me." Remini squeezed the sleeve to shoot whipped cream at Goldman. Then the whipped cream and bananas started flying everywhere as the trio declared war, and an honest to goodness food fight broke out.

Ludo Lefebvre, Holly Robinson Peete, and Leah Remini on 'The Talk'Holly Robinson Peete revealed a hidden talent and French chef Ludo Lefebvre revealed a crush Wednesday on 'The Talk' (weekdays, syndicated on CBS). Peete, Levebvre, and Leah Remini participated in a cooking segment, making a special taco recipe with a French twist.

As they were setting up the segment, Peete let loose a stream of very convincing French, putting Lefebvre at ease, since, as he said, his English is not very good. High-fiving Remini, Peete said, "I paid attention in French class." It impressed Lefebvre, but perhaps he was predisposed to being impressed by Peete. "I'm shaking a little," he said. "Because when I was a young kid I had a crush on you. Always look at you."

The Women of 'The Talk' Debate Male Birth Control and Celibacy (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted Jul 26th 2011 5:45PM
Leah Remini talks male birth control on 'The Talk'With a male birth control pill reportedly well on its way to market, the women of 'The Talk' (weekdays, syndicated on CBS) discussed whether they'd trust men to use it properly, and what the future would look like with more male options for birth control. What they foresaw was not pretty.

On the question of whether she would trust her man to take a daily birth control pill, Leah Remini gave a resounding "Hells no," adding, "I can just see our husbands with the little packet going, 'Uh, okay, missed, missed, missed, uh ... Dude, do we take 29 at the same time?'" Sharon Osbourne also thought less condom use could bring disgusting results. "Everybody would be covered, covered in herpes," she said.

The conversation then turned to celibacy, more specifically, women who have decided not to have sex. "The person really annoys me who says, I won't have sex, but I will do this, this, and this," said Remini. Holly Robinson Peete thought there were good reasons to have sex before marrying a partner. "How do you know if the guy is going to be delivering the goods if you don't take a test drive?" she said. Ladies just might want to check the guy's packet first.

'The Talk' Plays Leah Remini's 'Young and the Restless' Blooper Reel (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted Jul 14th 2011 6:00PM
Tracey Bregman and Peter Bergman from 'The Young and the Restless' on 'The Talk'Tracey Bregman and Peter Bergman took time off from their normal daytime TV jobs as stars of 'The Young and the Restless' to appear on 'The Talk' (weekdays, syndicated on CBS) Thursday. And they did a much better job as real talk show guests than Leah Remini did playing a talk show host on 'The Young and the Restless,' if the blooper reel they played today is any indication.

Remini and Holly Robinson Peete made cameos on the soap opera playing themselves, hosting 'The Talk,' where Bregman and Bergman's characters were hawking their cosmetic line, Jabot (which is an actual, real world product now). Remini did some funny, probbaly inappropriate ad-libbing, mostly marveling over Bergman's looks, calling him "a handsome bastard" and asking him if he wanted to make out. When Peete read that Jabot would "tighten, lift, and firm," Remini said, "Hell yeah. Can you put that on your ass?"

Remini asked Bregman and Bergman to rate her and Robinson Peete's acting skills, and Bergman said he thought they both did "very good." And this is a man who knows fine acting.

Raven-Symone reminisced about life as a child star, and said her most vivid memory from working with Peete on 'Cooper' was watching her eat chicken and waffles at Roscoe's.

Peete copped to her love of chicken and waffles, but seemed surprised to hear Raven-Symon describe her signature method of eating them in such vivid detail. "I will remember this forever," said Raven-Symone. "You take the waffle, you cut it in half, you dip it like a taco in the thing, and then you put your chicken inside of it. It was so weird to me. But I enjoyed watching it."

'The Talk' Ladies Discuss Mark Halperin's Presidential Gaffe (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted Jun 30th 2011 5:50PM
Leah Remini, Sara Gilbert, and Sharon Osbourne on 'The Talk'Thursday morning on 'Morning Joe,' Mark Halperin of Time Magazine and MSNBC said he thought President Obama was "kind of a dick" in his recent press conference. Halperin was quickly suspended by MSNBC, and critiques of his comment poured in from all corners, including a couple on Thursday's edition of 'The Talk' (weekdays, syndicated on CBS).

Holly Robinson Peete started the discussion on a lighter note, saying, "There hasn't been a man called 'Dick' in the oval office since President Richard Nixon." Leah Remini said she liked the fact that the president could be kind of a dick. "I don't know, I like to hear that people are like hard-asses a little bit, especially our president," she said.

Sharon Osbourne said that wasn't the context in which Halperin used the term. "He didn't say 'this guy is a ball-buster, he's a toughie,'" said Osbourne. "He did it in a very disrespectful way."

Sharon Osbourne Wants to Lick Shemar Moore (VIDEO)

Shemar Moore on 'The Talk'Shemar Moore caused a bit of a stir with Sharon Osbourne, not to mention Holly Robinson Peete's mother, when he appeared on 'The Talk' (weekdays, syndicated on CBS) Tuesday. Moore, who plays FBI agent Derek Morgan on 'Criminal Minds,' made the cover of Maximum Fitness magazine, appearing without a shirt. He joked that he wasn't in that kind of shape at the moment, but then displayed his abs anyway.

That's what made Osbourne swoon. "You need a really good licking," she said. When Moore reminded her she was married, Osbourne said she couldn't help it if Moore made her feel "funny in certain places."

Tiffani Thiessen Had an Anthony Weiner-Style Stalker (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted Jun 16th 2011 6:00PM
Tiffani Thiessen on 'The Talk'Tiffani Thiessen revealed Thursday on 'The Talk' (weekdays, syndicated on CBS) that she once received a nude photo from a man, Anthony Weiner–style, but wouldn't say who that person was. She did say he was a famous baseball player, more famous now than he was in the mid-'90s, when the man sent her a full-body nude photo of himself in an attempt to woo her into dating him.

Thiessen said she was talking about the incident for the first time in public, and hadn't even told her husband about it. "He's even more famous now, but he was somewhat famous then," said Thiessen of the man. "[He] sent me a photo, a head shot at first, asking me out. And then I guess because I didn't respond, he followed up with another sort of picture."

Thiessen said it happened while she was still on 'Beverly Hills, 90210' and that the player in question is still playing. That's as far as she would go, but Holly Robinson Peete vowed 'The View' team would crack the case. Hopefully Thiessen didn't keep the photos.

Jill Zarin Tells Leah Remini She'd Make a Great 'Real Housewife' (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted Jun 15th 2011 5:10PM
Leah Remini on 'The Real Housewives of New York City' on 'The Talk''The Real Housewives of New York City' is missing its most recognizable face this season without Bethenny Frankel. But that hasn't hurt the show, said Jill Zarin on Wednesday's 'The Talk' (weekdays, syndicated on CBS). Zarin said she was happy for Frankel and all of her post-show success, and then got into the details that make the show popular, the interpersonal friction between the different housewives.

At the insistence of Leah Remini, Zarin addressed her troubles with fellow housewife Ramona Singer. "Have you sat her down, seriously, off camera and said, 'Ramona, come and watch the show and look how you look," said Remini. Zarin said she was having problems with Singer lying about small details, like whether Zarin owned the Ferrari she drove in season one.

Remini was so passionate about the feud that Holly Robinson Peete asked Zarin if she thought Remini would make a good addition to the cast. Zarin said she would, and Remini seemed open to the idea, saying she loves the show.
