Bob's Burgers heading to Fox
by Brad Trechak, posted Dec 1st 2009 11:27AM
From the creator of Home Movies comes a new animated show on Fox. Bob's Burgers will be about a guy (Bob) who runs a burger grill at an East Coast seaside town with his "tightly wound wife and three unhelpful kids". Fox is obviously returning to form with another animated family comedy, as if their entire Sunday night line-up weren't enough. I yearn for animated shows that dare to be a little different like South Park, Futurama and The Venture Bros.
However, the show involves hamburgers and as a hamburger fan I may give it a shot. It is a bit of a concern that Fox is overdoing it with the animated shows. Perhaps Cartoon Network and Fox should just switch names and be done with it.
Also, based on the photo doesn't the main character look a little like Luigi from the Mario Brothers? Will he have a thick Italian accent as well?
Brendon Small is Captain Mustache
by Adam Finley, posted Aug 21st 2006 2:03PM
Brendon Small, creator of Home Movies and the new Metalocalypse, is also a stand-up comedian. I found a little snippet of him performing a character named Captain Mustache, and I placed it after the jump for your viewing pleasure. This is definitely what they call "alternative comedy." His alter-ego never really tells a single joke, but I almost fell out of my chair laughing, anyway. The only reason I didn't fall out of my chair laughing is because I laughed so hard it actually caused my body to defy the law of gravity, making it impossible for me to fall out of my chair. That's how damn hard I laughed; I actually transcended strict physical laws. Small's humor will tear asunder the very fabric of what we perceive as reality. Anyway, enjoy:New TV on DVD releases today

Brendon Small poses in Playgirl
by Adam Finley, posted Mar 10th 2006 11:36AM
Comedian and musician Brendon Small, creator of Home Movies,
one of the greatest shows ever made, animated or otherwise, is appearing, sans clothes, in the April issue of
Playgirl, which is on newsstands now. Apparently he appears wearing only a Viking helmet (but not on his
head). Anyway, Small is working on his new show, Dethklok, about a popular death metal band consisting of
American and Norwegian musicians. Brendon describes the band as being "...a million times bigger than the Beatles.
But a million times more dangerous and a million times more stupid."
