(S01E12) "Christopher Chance is the guy you go to when no one else can help you." - Christopher Chance to, er, Christopher Chance!

Last night's great season finale was capped off by a cliffhanger ending straight outta 'The Empire Strikes Back' -- a major player went missing, the plot was left unresolved, and a swelling John Williams-esque score filled the final moments. The cliffhanger felt even more poignant since Fox has yet to announce a second season renewal for 'Human Target.'

Hopefully, the network will take a, er, chance and order another full season of the show. 'Human Target' turned out to be one of the best and most enjoyable new series to premiere in the last few months. I've had a blast tagging along with Chance, Winston and Guerrero on their crazy adventures, and I'd love to see the boys regroup and save the day over and over again for another few years.

'Human Target' Season Finale: Taking a (Christopher) Chance

by Jo Garfein, posted Apr 14th 2010 2:00PM
If you haven't been tuning in to 'Human Target,' it's not too late to start this week. The season finale ('Christopher Chance'), which airs tonight at 8PM ET on Fox, presents the perfect opportunity for new and existing fans alike to get a glimpse into the back stories of the series' three lead characters.

'Human Target' -- about mysterious and clever private security contractor Christopher Chance (Mark Valley) who has his own set of rules to protect clients from dangerous and imminent threats -- is original, refreshing, fun and action-packed. Jackie Earle Haley, who plays Chance's well-connected, tech savvy and trustworthy friend Guerrero, accurately describes 'Human Target' as a show where fans "grab a beer, sit on the couch, throw their feet up and take a ride."

'Human Target' - 'Victoria' Recap

(S01E11) "You a hot mess." - Winston to Guerrero.

Chance rubbed elbows with royalty on last night's 'Human Target.' But while Fox's pre-show introduction (starring a couple of 'Glee' kids) promised big thrills and explosions, "Victoria" failed to deliver any truly spectacular action sequences. At least we got to see the show sorta return to its original premise, with Chance posing as someone close to the client to protect her from the threat. It seems like he hasn't done that in quite a while.

Winston and Guerrero got themselves into a pretty tight spot during this ep. It's always fun to see these two paired up out in the field instead of stuck in a room staring at computer screens or talking on cell phones. Follow me after the jump to discuss last night's Crown conspiracy.

McG on 'Human Target', 'Chuck' and a Revival of 'Charlie's Angels'

by Michael Maloney, posted Apr 8th 2010 8:00AM

Odds are you're a fan of at least one of McG's TV shows. The busy executive producer/director currently helms NBC cult-hit 'Chuck' and Fox's 'Human Target'. He serves as executive producer for The CW's 'Supernatural' and held that position and also wrote for Fox's short-lived 'Fastlane'.

Born Joseph McGinty Nichol, McG hit the scene a decade ago when he directed the movie version of 'Charlie's Angels,' which starred Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu (and the author of this Q&A as an uncredited computer nerd). More recently, McG stood behind the lens for 'Terminator Salvation' and currently has a dozen (!) projects in development, according to his Imdb.com page.

AOL recently chatted with the busy McG about his current, future and past endeavors, including a possible revival of 'Charlie's Angels' for TV. Read on to get the diverse dish.

Protecting the Princess on 'Human Target' (VIDEO)

by Oliver Miller, posted Apr 7th 2010 10:50PM
Protecting the Princess on 'Human Target'Christopher Chance (Mark Valley) is the star of 'Human Target' (Wed., 8PM ET on Fox). He's a private special agent who goes undercover every week to protect the lives of his clients. On the latest episode of the show, Chance finds himself in a very British situation: he's protecting Princess Victoria (Christina Cole), a member of the English royal family. To make things even more British, the two of them find themselves in a shoot-out in a room filled with swords, shields, and ancient suits of armor.

Bubble Shows Battle for Renewal

by Scott Harris, posted Apr 5th 2010 10:00AM
The battle is on for the last few spots in next fall's television line-up and according to the Hollywood Reporter, it's coming down to the wire for some of television's longest-running and most buzzed about shows.

While it's still too early to tell just how the chips will fall, since many networks are still waiting to evaluate its crop of new pilots, several shows that were once the talk of Hollywood appear to be on the chopping block. Among those shows unlikely to return: 'FlashForward,' 'Numb3rs' and 'Cold Case.'

(S01E10) Sorry about the late review, folks. My systems were still acting a little wonky after that EMP blast on '24' the other week, but everything seems to be working A-OK now (yes, I am a robot, a TV lovin' robot). So let's take a few and talk about our favorite Death Retardant Specialist, Christopher Chance.

SuperChance flew to a remote Alaskan island to rescue a selfless doctor, played by the perfectly adequate Moon Bloodgood, from a team of corporate-financed baddies. But what started out as a simple find and flee job soon turned into a mission to unearth a deadly conspiracy. Follow me after the jump for spoilers.

'Human Target' - 'Corner Man' Recap

by Mike Moody, posted Mar 25th 2010 5:03AM
human target corner man recap(S01E09) 'Human Target' jumped back to case-of-the-week mode after last week's back story-heavy hour, but I'm not complaining. Like 'Fringe,' this is one of those shows that constantly delivers solid stand-alone episodes.

This week, Chance entered an underground martial arts tournament to get a fighter off the hook with a dangerous gangster. I was hoping this ep would exploit the 'Enter the Dragon' fighting competition gimmick a little more. I was expecting brutal hand-to-hand combat scenes, tense build-ups to each fight, and opponents that got bigger and scarier as the episode went along.

Instead, the fights kinda seemed to happen in the background. Chance fought a few guys who pretty much looked the same and seemed to go down a little too easily. The real intrigue sprang from all the high-stakes gambling and backdoor deals surrounding the fights.

Christopher Chance Escapes from a Watery Grave on 'Human Target' (VIDEO)

Human Target, Mark ValleyJames Bond's got nothin' on Christopher Chance on 'Human Target' (8PM ET on Fox). Dumped into a swimming pool? No problem. Shoot somebody from under the water? Piece of cake. All with grace and charm.

In fact, the next time they're looking for a new 007, we nominate Mark Valley. But only if they shoot between seasons. We need our 'Target' fix.

Nice to see TV veteran Peter Wingfield as the bad guy, too.

Mark Valley Teaches Jimmy Fallon How to Take a Punch Like a Hero (VIDEO)

by Chris Harnick, posted Mar 23rd 2010 1:05PM
Late Night With Jimmy FallonMark Valley, star of Fox's 'Human Target,' stopped by 'Late Night with Jimmy Fallon' (weeknights, 12:37AM EST on NBC) to give the host a few tips on how to be a hero.

The duo threw some fake punches with surprisingly comical results. Apparently, when you take a sucker punch to the jaw the right way, you get music.

While Fallon may have mastered the heroic punch, let's leave the trash talking action roles to Valley. We all remember 'Taxi,' Fallon's cop comedy with Queen Latifah.

'Human Target' - 'Baptiste' Recap

(S01E08) I take back what I wrote last week. Kim Coates' Bertram is no longer the best and most memorable villain on 'Human Target'. That title now belongs to Baptiste, played by the awesome Lennie James.

The guy was brilliant as Chance's sadistic and stealthy nemesis. I would've been happy to watch Baptiste sit and trade barbs with Chance on that bench for the entire hour. But this episode had a lot more to offer, including some juicy intel about Chance's past, and the welcome return of Emma Barnes (Emmanuelle Vaugier) and computer geek Layla (Autumn Reeser).

Christopher Chance and Baptiste Face Off on 'Human Target' (VIDEO)

Human Target, Baptiste and Chance FightThe downside of training someone with your awesome assassin skills is that you never know when you might have to face off against them. Christopher Chance learned that the hard way when he and Baptiste had it out on 'Human Target' (Wed., 8PM ET on Fox).

But they must be evenly matched because both were standing after the fight, and Baptiste even managed to blow up a building in the process. Everyone made it out, though. Bollocks!

'Human Target' - 'Salvage & Reclamation' Recap

human target salvange & reclamation review
(S01E07) 'Human Target' returned to the tube with a fun episode packed with big explosions, clever gags, an exotic locale, and some femme fatale hotness. The hotness came courtesy of guest star Leonor Varela, the latest in a string of babes we've seen pair up with Chance during the show's freshman season (according to star Mark Valley, she definitely won't be the last).

Varela did a fine job playing Maria, one of Chance's old flames – an old flame who could've turned out to be "the one" for Chance, if only he would've stuck around to find out. But, as our boy explained midway through this ep, he left her because everyone he's ever gotten close to "has been taken away."

Was Chance making a reference to Katherine Walters here, the woman we found out about a few episodes ago? The woman he was in love with? The woman whose death he might be responsible for?
