'In Living Color' Coming Back to Fox
'In Living Color' is getting a re-boot from Fox. The network announced Friday night that they're bringing back a new version of the trailblazing '90s sketch comedy show that launched the careers of the Wayans Brothers, Jim Carrey, David Allen Grier and "Fly Girl" dancers, now reality show judges, J-Lo and Carrie Ann Inaba. The variety show will come back as two half-hour specials in the Spring of 2012. The specials will serve as a trial run for a possible full season.
Keenen Ivory Wayans, the original show's star and creator, will serve as host and executive producer this time around. The new version of 'In Living Color' will feature a new cast of comedic talents.
After the jump, enjoy a video of Jim Carrey impersonating Vanilla Ice in a classic 'In Living Color' sketch.
'In Living Color' Turns 20: Happy Anniversary!
Twenty years ago, on April 15, 1990, 'In Living Color,' the brash, outspoken sketch comedy show created by Keenan Ivory Wayans, premiered and subsequently changed the rules of sketch comedy. In its skewering of pop culture and satirizing of race-based issues, the mostly black cast combined trenchant lampooning (Michael Jackson, Mike Tyson) with original characters (Homey D. Clown, Fire Marshal Bill) to create a show that remains groundbreaking to this day.Just as notable, the show became a launching pad for everyone from Jim Carrey and Jamie Foxx to then-choreographer Rosie Perez and Jennifer Lopez (the latter earning her first high-profile job as one of the show's "Fly Girls").
To commemorate the anniversary, we take a look back at some of the best musical parodies the show had to offer. And good luck not getting nostalgic -- or rueful -- of the '90s if you remember these.
Jamie Foxx Returning to Fox
When we first heard the news that Jamie Foxx was developing a new television show, we thought the same thing you did: Boy, he's really getting into this 'Laverne and Shirley' remake. (Which his reps have since denied.) But as it turns out, while his latest project does feature the return of a classic series, it's one that is perhaps a bit more understandable for Foxx: 'In Living Color.'Well, sort of. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Foxx is teaming with former 'In Living Color' writers Fax Bahr and Adam Small to develop a new "urban-flavored sketch-comedy show" for Fox.
Foxx, of course, rose to super-stardom thanks to his role on 'In Living Color,' which ran from 1990-1994, while Bahr and Small went on to create Fox's seminal sketch series 'MADtv.'
Julianne Hough Not Returning to 'Dancing With the Stars': Why She's Better Off
The tango might be tough without Julianne Hough. The cha-cha's kind of rough without Julianne Hough.
No, those are not new lyrics to Julianne's latest country single, but our way of emphasizing major 'Dancing With the Stars' news: Hough, dancing veteran on the show, will not be returning for its 10th season.
Hough confirmed the news Tuesday morning on Ryan Seacrest's radio show, saying "I'm not [going back] next season. But I love that show."
As for season 11, Hough added "we're going to cross that bridge when we get to that."

Star Trek: the television parodies - VIDEOS
Do not adjust your web browser. You are now entering the Retro Squad, where we are reviewing past episodes of classic TV shows.
The original version of Star Trek has been a show with two faces. On the one face, it was a serious show that dramatized the good and glorious future we humans could have after we screwed everything up (though, with so many wars going on around the galaxy, how good and glorious could it be?). On the other face, at least to some, it was a campy science fiction show that featured poor special effects, bad acting, and tunics that really didn't hold up to space travel too well.
Since the show left the airwaves in 1969, that second face is the one that television shows throughout the decades have parodied. Whether it be the original series itself, or the subsequent movies, or the conventions that sprung up from this show that lasted only 79 episodes. Shows both animated and live-action have found ways to skewer the show's, and its fans', good intentions. After the jump you'll find a few examples of those parodies either to laugh with or be angry at.
Damon Wayans heading back to TV
ABC is turning back to an old favorite, hoping to rekindle some comic magic for the network. Funny, irreverent and -- two snaps and a swish -- occasionally brilliant comic Damon Wayans has been tapped by ABC for a new single-camera sitcom pilot called Never Better. Damon starred as a family man in the five-year hit My Wife and Kids, doing a Cosby-esque turn from 2001-2005.The new show, Never Better, is being directed by Marc Buckland (My Name Is Earl, Ed) and centers on another family man, only in this incarnation, Damon is a guy who's struggling to be a good father and spouse despite his flaws and mistakes.
