Remembering His Life and Legacy on 'A Tribute to Ryan Dunn' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Nov 29th 2011 6:30AM
'A Tribute to Ryan Dunn'Ryan Dunn made a lot of people laugh with all of the crazy stunts he did on 'Jackass' and its various spin-off shows for MTV. So the network, along with his friends, family and castmates, presented 'A Tribute to Ryan Dunn' (Mon., 10:30PM ET on MTV), featuring a look at his life and rise to fame, as well as never-before-seen stunts.

There was also a cautionary element to the story; Dunn died in a drunk driving incident. Had he not been drinking, he'd likely be alive today, and that wasn't lost on Johnny Knoxville in his remembrance. But mostly, his friends and loved ones were joyful that he was happy with his love and his life, even if it did come to an end far too soon.

MTV has announced it will be airing a one-hour tribute celebrating the life of the late 'Jackass' star Ryan Dunn. 'The Ryan Dunn Tribute' Special is scheduled to air on Mon., Nov. 28 at 10:30PM ET on MTV.

Dunn, who died in a high-speed car wreck in June of 2011, was a beloved member of the 'Jackass' crew, and was featured prominently in their TV series and film franchise.

"It's a surreal thing to undertake, doing a tribute to our brother Ryan's life. I still can't believe he's gone but we wouldn't trust anyone else with this, so we are doing the best we can for Ryan, his family, friends, and everyone who loved him," Johnny Knoxville said in a statement.

Charlie Sheen Roasters Announced: Mike Tyson, Jeffrey Ross, Anthony Jeselnik, Harvey Levin, Steve-O

by Alex Moaba, posted Aug 29th 2011 2:00PM
The roster for the 'Comedy Central Roast of Charlie Sheen' is coming into focus. The network announced today that Mike Tyson, 'Jackass' Steve-O, and TMZ boss Harvey Levin will join roast veterans Jeffrey Ross and Anthony Jeselnik in the quest to skewer Sheen like a Shish Kabob.

More roasters are expected to be announced in the coming days.

Ross, known as Comedy Central's Roast Master General, saved Sheen's nearly disastrous live-tour by taking the stage to rip on the torpedo-of-truth-teller. Jeselnik was perhaps the breakout comic star of the highly-rated Trump roast.

Tyson has been branching out into film and TV work in his boxing retirement, guest starring in 'The Hangover,' and an episode of CBS's 'Same Name.' Most anything that Tyson says in his signature high-pitched voice is instantly hilarious, and him going after Sheen should be funnier than the time he promised to eat his opponent's children.

Steve-O Says Johnny Knoxville and the 'Jackass' Crew Saved His Life

by PopEater Staff, posted Jun 25th 2011 3:00PM
Jackass
Hours after a fatal car crash left 'Jackass' star Ryan Dunn dead, the late daredevil's close friend Steve-O took to Twitter, saying, "I love Ryan Dunn and I'm really going to miss him." Only a few days before the horrid and fiery wreck, which left another person dead, Steve-O revealed to PopEater's Rob Shuter that he is lucky to be alive after years of addiction.

"Johnny Knoxville and a bunch of our 'Jackass' crew staged an intervention and they forcibly locked me up in a psychiatric ward," Steve O told me. "When I got to the hospital I was so belligerent that they changed my status to two weeks. So the three days went to two weeks, and with that kind of time on my hands in a psych ward I eventually came to the conclusion that I really needed to make a change."

Bam Margera Is Not Happy With Roger Ebert's Tweets About Ryan Dunn's Death

by Moviefone Staff, posted Jun 21st 2011 2:00PM
Roger Ebert After 'Jackass' star Ryan Dunn's tragic death yesterday morning in a car crash that also took the life of one of his friends, it appears even the most unlikely of celebrities are weighing in on the matter.

In response to the sad news and the image Dunn posted to his Twitter account (which has since been taken down) showing him and two friends sitting around a table with beers at their side just three hours prior to the fatal car crash, Pulitzer Prize-winning film critic Roger Ebert took to his own Twitter account at 3PM yesterday to post the message: "Friends don't let jackasses drink and drive."

As you can probably imagine, that hasn't exactly sat well with everyone, especially those who knew Dunn best.

Hit the jump to see how the Twittersphere responded to Ebert's comments.

Steve-O Dishes on 'Dancing With the Stars' Predictions and 'Jackass 4'

by Katy Kroll, posted Apr 15th 2011 5:00PM
Steve-O is best known as the habitually naked stuntman from the 'Jackass' franchise who's willing to do almost anything for attention. But since sobering up more than three years ago, he's started to branch out by appearing on season 8 of 'Dancing With the Stars,' becoming a poster boy for PETA, embarking on a one-man comedy tour and penning an upcoming memoir about the ups and downs of his life.

Last year, 'Jackass 3-D' raked in more than $100 million at the box office, proving that being a "professional idiot" (as Steve-O calls it) still pays off.

Here, he opens up to us about why he did 'Dancing With the Stars' and who he thinks will win this season. He also talks about performing stunts sober for the first time and whether there might be a 'Jackass 4.'

Johnny Knoxville on 'Critics' Choice Movie Awards'At the 'Critics' Choice Movie Awards' (Fri., 9PM ET on VH1), the guys from 'Jackass' parodied 'The Social Network.' In a curly wig, Johnny Knoxville played the zoned-out Mark Zuckerberg, unfazed by threats from the Winklevoss twins.

"Watch it, jerk," said Jason "Wee Man" Acuna. "I'm 4-foot-6, 150 pounds, and there's two of me. You told us you'd help us out with WeeBook."

Knoxville/Zuckerberg replies, "WeeBook was just a dating site for little people. My idea was so much bigger ... a dating site for little people and big people."

Johnny Knoxville Plays Real-Life 'Operation,' Shocks a 'Jackass' in the GroinIt's time to stop playing little kid's games, and time to start playing a real man's game. Either that, or it's time to start electrically shocking a random dude in the groin. Both are good options on the new 'Late Night' (weeknights, 12:37AM ET on NBC).

Host Jimmy Fallon welcomes two members of the 'Jackass' crew -- head 'Jackass' Johnny Knoxville and his sidekick Danger Aaron. Jimmy has a "fun" treat in store for the guys: An updated version of the classic board game "Operation." But Jimmy decides to raise the stakes a little, by creating a life-sized (and much more painful) version of the game.

'Jackass' Star Johnny Knoxville Was Busted by the Cops While Babysitting (VIDEO)

'Jackass' Star Johnny Knoxville Was Busted by the Cops While BabysittingIs there something odd about the picture to your right? There's a shirtless dude, a bunch of cops, and ... some adorable smiling children. That's weird. But the photo starts to make more sense, once you realize it involves professional daredevil Johnny Knoxville.

Johnny is the star of 'Jackass,' a raunchy series featuring absurdly dangerous stunts. On the 'Late Show' (weeknights, 11:35PM ET on CBS), Knoxville discussed a lifetime of crazy antics -- including the time that he was busted by the cops while babysitting.

First, Knoxville mentioned some of the terrible injuries that he's suffered during his 'Jackass' career. The worst one involved being hit in the groin by a motorcycle. Knoxville was quick to assure David Letterman that everything was still okay with his, um, groin area. "I just had a nine-month-old boy," he said, "so 'it' still works."

The episode in question features the series' four Finnish cast members decked out in wild costumes, and engaging in various stunts in an attempt to become honorary Native Americas. In one stunt, the genital area of one of the cast members is crushed by a totem pole.

I don't know if Legend of the Seeker could be considered a guilty pleasure or not. I mean, if you like something, why does it have to be a "guilty" pleasure? Having said that, I think a lot of people would consider this show something they're not willing to admit they like. But I'll admit it: I like it. It's a fun show.

TV Squad Ten: Most visceral shows

by Danny Gallagher, posted Aug 27th 2009 1:02PM
Michael C. Hall is Dexter Morgan on DexterA good show can keep you so entertained that you're willing to fight sleep to watch the rest of it. A great show physically keeps you awake.

It gets into your bloodstream and forces more adrenaline into your heart.

It turns the synapses in your brain into ferrets on espresso that dash back and forth between the lobes and fires your mind on all of its cylinders.

It is visual cocaine, which is much healthier than actual cocaine and doesn't require a frequent visitor punch card for an eyes, ears, nose and throat doctor.

These are the shows that assault all five of the senses or less depending on how good of a health plan you've got.

The Vampire Diaries new cross-promotional ad with the American Red Cross
Cross promotions are not a new concept to TV heads, but this one cooked up by the folks behind the CW's Vampire Diaries deserves a Peabody Award. As Brad mentioned earlier today, The Vampire Diaries is being cross-promoted with the American Red Cross in which the show is hosting its own blood drive.

What a great idea and a great cause! Just think of the other charitable promotions this will inspire other shows to tackle.
