Jackie Evancho Tells Sharon Osboure Some of Her Favorite Things on 'The Talk' (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted Jun 24th 2011 5:35PM
Jackie Evancho on 'The Talk'Jackie Evancho has had quite a few adventures since rising to fame last year on 'America's Got Talent.' The 11-year-old singer released a best-selling Christmas album and more recently released her major label debut, 'Dream With Me.' Friday on 'The Talk' (weekdays, syndicated on CBS), 'Talent' judge Sharon Osbourne asked Evancho about the favorite people she's met and places she's been.

Evancho has been enjoying a slice of Hollywood life. Her favorite place? "I love being in Malibu," she said. "It's so cool there, and the water is just, it's nice and, and I love the beach. And I found a sand dollar there."

She also got to meet Oprah Winfrey, Mohammed Ali, and President Obama. Evancho sang at the White House and got to meet the Obama girls. "They're really nice," she said. Just your normal kid stuff.

11-Year Old Anna Graceman Sings Her Heart Out on 'America's Got Talent' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Jun 22nd 2011 3:13AM
Anna Graceman, 'America's Got Talent'One of the things that never ceases to amaze us on 'America's Got Talent' (Tue., 8PM ET on NBC) is how astonishingly talented some kids are. Eleven-year old Anna Graceman didn't look like a superstar when she walked out on stage, and she didn't even sound like one after her performance.

But when she sat behind that piano and belted out Alicia Keys' 'If I Ain't Got You,' it was a moment when you stand up and take notice. Like Jackie Evancho wowed people with the maturity of her opera voice, Graceman does it with a more contemporary pop sound.

So authentic and believable was her vocal performance, it was a little jarring when she came up to talk to the judges and there was just a little girl standing there. It's the kind of raw talent we don't want to wait until she's old enough for the likes of 'American Idol' to see. We want more now, and luckily so did the judges, sending her to Las Vegas and the next round.

Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb asked Evancho about songwriting for the album, and what it was like to have big names like Streisand and Susan Boyle on the record.

"Well, actually, what happened was, we didn't sing together," said Evancho of Streisand. "What happened was, David Foster did his recording studio magic and we were in different studios and he put our voices together. He did say that she said great things about my voice."

Jackie Evancho sings Puccini's 'O Mio Babbino Caro' on 'Today'Jackie Evancho clearly has the voice to be a successful pop singer, but the eleven-year-old former 'America's Got Talent' contestant may need to sharpen her elbows if she really wants to get to the top. Evancho appeared Monday on 'Today' (weekdays, 7AM on NBC) to talk about her new album, 'Dream With Me,' which, despite an official June 14 release date, is already the number one album on Amazon.com.

Smits and Evancho both showed up to chat with Jay Leno, and Jimmy revealed that he had been in the audience for one of Jackie's previous performances. He gushed with admiration for the pint-sized singer, saying that she was "like an angel," and adding that she had a "voice from God." Aw -- how sweet.

Howie almost sounded like a broken record when he said over and over again that it was important that America voted after the live show. And he's right.
