'The League' (Thu., 10:30PM ET on FX) treated us to two fun guest stars who came together in a very disturbing way during an even more disturbing Thanksgiving dinner. It turns out Ruxin's dad, played by Jeff Goldblum, is just like him in almost every way. And we thought one Ruxin was bad.

But as bad as it was seeing double, it was nothing to what Andre went through when his sister, played by Sarah Silverman, showed up and confirmed what the guys have been telling him for years ... except for Ruxin. She taught them everything they know about sex, and in fact offered to give Kevin a refresher course when she found out Jenny wasn't as satisfied as she should have been.

'The X Files' star Annabeth Gish is heading to 'CSI.'

According to EW, Gish will star in a three episode arc as a childhood friend from Catherine Willows' (Marge Helgenberger) past. Gish's character, Laura, is married to a billionaire military contractor honcho who is investigated by the CSI team. It turns out he may be involved in an arms theft.

Gish's arc starts with episode nine.

Marg Helgenberger is rumored to be leaving the series after the first 12 episodes, could Gish's character be involved in her character's departure?

In other casting news ...

Thanks to Jeff Goldblum and 'The Late Late Show' (Weeknights, 12:37AM ET on CBS) we now know what movie we want to see this upcoming weekend. It's not in theaters now. In fact, according to Goldblum it never came out at all.

It's called 'Chain of Fools' and according to Goldblum it was never released in theaters. It is, however, available on DVD, and more importantly it features both Jeff Goldblum and Craig Ferguson. The movie was such a big part of their careers, that neither of them really remembered much about it at first.

When Ferguson finally put it together, he remembered that he never worked directly with Goldblum. "I also only had two days in the film," he said. "Both days I worked with Salma Hayek and not you. I had that written into my contract."

Would you like an actor with those fries? During his appearance on 'Inside the Actors Studio' (Tue., 8PM ET on Bravo), James Franco revealed that he learned the craft of acting while dishing out hamburgers at a McDonald's drive-through window.

James dropped out of college to become an actor, but his parents weren't about to support him financially. After leaving school, he was broke ... and quasi-homeless (he slept in friends' cars, or on the docks at the waterfront).

While working at McDonald's, James started attending Playhouse West, one of the best acting schools in the world. Naturally, he couldn't afford the tuition. But Robert Carnegie -- who ran the school -- let him take classes at a reduced price. While speaking of his old drama coach, Franco started to choke up. "He was the one person who said, 'You should take a chance on yourself.'"

Jeff Goldblum was the guest on 'The Late Late Show' (12:37AM ET on CBS). Host Craig Ferguson played a sudden -- and random -- game of "True or False" with the actor. Below are some of the questions that were asked. (We'll give you the answers later on.)

"Could you make America happy?" Jimmy Fallon asked. "Yes," Jeff Goldblum replied. The last time Mr. Goldblum appeared on 'Late Night' (weeknights, 12:37AM ET on NBC), he sat down with Jimmy at the piano and improvised some lounge music. And ever since that moment, a restless nation has been demanding more, more, more.

"We've been getting letters, emails ... Western Union [telegrams]," Fallon said to his guest. According to the host, these messages all demanded a single thing: "Get Jeff Goldblum in a room with Biz Markie ... make that happen!"

Okay, that's a little random and implausible -- and has probably never been an actual request from anyone, ever, in the history of the world. But since you (hypothetically) demanded it, it's now actually happening! And the result (that you never really asked for) is better than you possibly could have imagined!

Jeff Goldblum, the star of USA's 'Law and Order: Criminal Intent,' is leaving the series after two years.

According to Variety, this is not a negotiating tactic; Goldblum has made up his mind. Variety reported that Goldblum's' decision to leave stemmed from "uncertainty" surrounding the show's future.

'Law and Order: CI' underwent a major cast change earlier this season when Vincent D'Onofrio, Kathryn Erbe and Eric Bogosian left the series and Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio and Saffron Burrows joined the cast.

It seems like we have new casting news and/or rumors about Law and Order: Criminal Intent every week or so. Here's the latest.

Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio has been cast as the new captain on the show. She replaces Eric Bogosian who has left after a few seasons on the USA Network show. She'll join another new cast member, Saffron Burrows, who replaces Julianne Nicholson, who decided not to come back to the show after having a baby.

Last week we told you that Julianne Nicholson had decided not to come back to Law and Order: CI after having a baby, and in the same post we hinted that other changes might be coming to the USA show too. This could be those changes.

The Hollywood Reporter and set sources are both saying that Vincent D'Onofrio, Kathryn Erbe, and Eric Bogosian are all being written out of the show. That would mean that Jeff Goldblum would be the star of the show and that new cast members would have to be hired. D'Onofrio might make guest appearances in the future.

I can see Bogosian going, since he always seemed like a recurring character at best and you can replace those. But D'Onofrio and Erbe are the heart of the show, really, and it's interesting if Goldblum (who I always assumed would last for a season or two and then be on his way back to the movies) would be the lead character on the show now.

Fans of the Law and Order shows (all of them) are used to big cast changes and turnovers. When you have shows that last so long, you're bound to see characters leave and new ones pop up. Now it looks like we're about to have a new cast member on Law and Order: CI and an old one that won't be coming back.

Julianne Nicholson has decided not to come back to the show after leaving for a while to have a baby.

And so ends the first season of Law and Order: Criminal Intent with Jeff Goldblum as one of the stars (alternating the lead role with Vincent D'Onofrio). There are fans who love the Goldblum episodes and those that only want to see the veteran D'Onofrio in the lead. I noticed that the plots of the Goldblum/Nicholson episodes seemed to be really ambitious, but I don't think that made them better.

What grade do you give Goldblum for his first season?

Sometimes when I'm watching USA Network, I'm as tickled with the promotions for the shows as I am the shows themselves. That's saying a lot, because as a rule, networks are not very clever about commercials hawking their shows. However, USA is the exception to the rule. Just yesterday, Kona wrote about the Psych promo that took a shot at The Mentalist -- completely justified, too -- and here's another that caught my eye. It's a tribute to Monk.

This is the last season for Monk, so USA gathered some of the stars -- in character -- from its other programs to give a little tribute to Adrian Monk. What a stroke of genius!

A few weeks ago, I wrote about Jeff Goldblum's disappointing start on Law and Order: Criminal Intent. My basic point was that he hadn't really found his character yet - that he hadn't gelled with the series - and he wasn't getting any help from poorly written episodes like the atrocious "rock star" opener.

After watching this week's episode, I have to say, everything was much improved, all around. Granted, the poetry was just as bad as the rock music from Goldblum's debut episode; they managed to force Goldblum playing piano into the plot yet again, and the ending confessional was overly dramatic.

But the bad poetry wasn't quite as distracting as the music in the first episode, the piano playing was at least tangentially related to the plot (although still a stretch), and fans of the series in all its forms must have learned to forgive the dramatic confessions years ago as part of the show's style.

The MSNBC Countdown's Wikipedia page reported he had died earlier this morning, possibly due to complications from celiac disease.

I sent emails to two networks officials to confirm this jarring claim. Jeremy Gaines, MSNBC's vice president of communications, responded that he is certain the entry is a "hoax" and that he and other network officials were working to correct it. The section on Olbermann's death has since been removed from the page.
