by Jason Hughes, posted Oct 11th 2011 3:00AM
There's a certain stigma that's been attached, and rightfully so in many dreadful cases, to Lifetime Original Movies. But the ambitious breast cancer anthology film 'Five' (Mon., 9PM ET on Lifetime), is looking to change all that. The film empowers women at one of their most difficult times through five interconnected stories of five women at five different stages of life and cancer. The film is a true anthology, featuring five different stars and directors for each vignette. Directing were Jennifer Aniston, Patty Jenkins, Alicia Keys, Demi Moore and Penelope Spheeris, while their stories starred Jeanne Tripplehorn at the heart of all the stories as an oncologist whose mother died from breast cancer.

by Catherine Lawson, posted Jul 13th 2011 8:15AM

Although star Al Pacino has been spotted out and about in full Phil Spector garb (see right; thanks to 'Entertainment Weekly' for the heads up), HBO's Spector biopic has run into trouble after co-star Bette Midler quit.Production was suspended Tuesday after she failed to turn up for filming, and Deadline reports that Midler had to pull out on doctors' orders after suffering a herniated disc.
David Mamet told the crew that HBO and the insurance company were looking at recasting the part, which has since been confirmed by the cable network.
Mamet wrote the film, which is being exec-produced by 'Rain Man' director Barry Levinson.

Jeffrey Tambor and Craig Ferguson Get Dirty on 'The Late Late Show' (VIDEO)
by Jason Hughes, posted Apr 1st 2011 6:48AM
Craig Ferguson often tries to lead conversations down dirty paths on 'The Late Late Show' (Weeknights, 12:37AM ET on CBS). But it's quite possible he's never had anyone who's embraced the journey quite as much as Jeffrey Tambor. Before you knew what was happening, the two men were standing up and pretending to be looking at one another's genitalia. From there, Ferguson asked Tambor if he still self-pleasures and Tambor actually answered.
But then Tambor mimicked the gesture, and discovered you can't air that on television.

'Arrested Development' Cast: Where Are They Now?
by Kim Potts, posted Feb 10th 2011 1:45PM

It's been five years since the Emmy and Golden Globe-winning family comedy 'Arrested Development' left the airwaves, and, though we say this with a little grain of salt, it looks like the long-rumored big-screen version of the series is finally a go, maybe even for later this year.
And while we can't wait to see those wacky Bluths back in action, it's not like the cast members have been sitting around twiddling their thumbs since the 'Arrested Development' finale aired on Feb. 10, 2006. In fact, they've been a pretty busy bunch, including many projects in which they've continued to be co-stars ...
Jeffrey Tambor on Being New Dad at 66, Using Ladies' Bathroom (VIDEO)
by Aimee Deeken, posted Aug 4th 2010 9:55AM
When Jeffrey Tambor is out with his two 10-month-old twin boys, people assume they are his grandchildren, he said on 'The Late Late Show' (weeknights, 12:37AM ET on CBS). Craig Ferguson can relate: He's 48, and his wife is pregnant. "People like to say, 'You're 48 years old, and you're going to have another child?"
That topic was followed by Tambor telling the story of getting into big trouble at his local public library. He "really, really had to go" to the bathroom, explained Tambor. "Well, you're 66!" interjected the host.
Anyway, he was barred from the men's room. And what transpired had Ferguson doubled over in laughter.
'Archer' - 'Job Offer' Recap
by Annie Wu, posted Mar 12th 2010 1:04PM

(S01E09) Just one more episode to go before 'Archer' wraps up its ten-episode run. It will be interesting to see if FX brings it back for another season. The show's super-spy universe really lends itself to further exploration, but the characters' tangled web of sexual tension and missing fathers may not hold up for another ten episodes. It's a small cast of main characters, and the back-and-forth nature can only last so long. [Edit: 'Archer' has been renewed. I knew that. I was totally just testing you guys. Totally.]
Maybe some new problems will be introduced in the finale, leaving us begging for more. Or maybe everyone will die in a fiery, sexy explosion. Y'never know.
Jeffrey Tambor, Jessica Walter to Reunite on 'Archer'

George and Lucille Bluth, together again! While it may not be the 'Arrested Development' reunion that fans have been clamoring for, the Ausiello Files reports erstwhile Bluth paterfamilias Jeffrey Tambor will guest-star on an upcoming episode of the new FX animated comedy series 'Archer,' a half-hour spy spoof that co-stars the voice of his 'Arrested' wife Jessica Walter.
Jeffrey Tambor Joins David Tennant in NBC Pilot
by Scott Harris, posted Nov 13th 2009 3:00PM
The Doctor is about to get a new companion: George Bluth, Sr. OK, not exactly, but The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Jeffrey Tambor has signed on to join David Tennant in 'Rex Is Not Your Lawyer', a new pilot being produced for NBC.
Tambor, of course, is best known for his role as incarcerated patriarch George Bluth, Sr. on the late, lamented cult classic 'Arrested Development' ...
Gone Too Soon: Max Headroom
by Jason Hughes, posted Oct 19th 2009 2:04PM

The name "Max Headroom" comes from the last thing TV reporter Edison Carter saw before he was knocked out and hacker extraordinaire Bryce Lynch dumped his memories into a computer: a sign reading "Max. Headroom: 2.3 meters" as a warning for low clearance. The program came alive and an '80s icon was born. Most people today remember Max Headroom for his pervasive commercial association with New Coke.
Yet it was in the Max Headroom series that he was truly groundbreaking. The show was developed from a UK telefilm: Max Headroom: 20 Minutes Into the Future. And that film was only created to give back-story to a talking head they wanted to use in a music video show.
Unfortunately, the popularity of this show and the character lasted about as long as New Coke. And for those of you who have no idea what New Coke is ... exactly!
Arrested Development movie update: not much of an update
by Bob Sassone, posted Aug 27th 2009 12:29PM
It's been a while since we heard any news about that Arrested Development movie that might be happening, might not be happening, was being written, was being thought about, etc. Now comes word from Jason Bateman that the movie is still a go and it's still being written as we speak.Bateman tells Collider.com that Mitch Hurwitz is still writing the script, and once that's done they have to get the scheduling of the filming down (which won't be easy with so many cast members).
Entourage: Fore!

(S06E05) "No, we're up for it, but is this gonna be like the old days when you try to pay me back in personal training sessions and shit?" - Mark Wahlberg
Seems like the dynamic of Entourage is really shifting lately, huh? Over the past two or three episodes, Eric has moved to the head of the class, taking over the biggest parts of each half-hour. I'm not complaining, but earlier in the season I did wonder what the result of Vince's success would be. Now we know.
I didn't even realize there WAS an Arrested Development documentary
by Bob Sassone, posted Jun 19th 2009 5:25PM
Yup, there's an Arrested Development documentary, and the trailer is below. I didn't even know this film was coming out, but it looks like it's the ultimate drug for hardcore AD fans (at least until the movie comes out). Besides the cast and crew being interviewed, we also see comments from people like Andy Richter, Keith Olbermann, and many other fans.
