UPDATE: [3:45 PST] The Hollywood Reporter posted an exclusive story saying that the cast is "near a deal" that will see them net a 200 percent increase in salary -- $30,000 an episode each. MTV is still mum on the subject, releasing this statement instead: "We don't comment on any contractual conversations."

Hang on to your wife beaters folks, the guidos are on strike.

According to TMZ, the garden state's finest are don't think that $10,000 each per episode is enough money and they're refusing to begin shooting season 3 of 'Jersey Shore' until MTV coughs up more dough.

Citing sources "connected with the show," the gossip site claims that JWoww (Jenni Farley), Ronnie (Ortiz-Magro), Sammi ("Sweetheart" Giancola), Pauly D (Paul DelVecchio) and Vinny (Guadagnino) have told the crew that they wouldn't show up on set until new contracts were put in place. And, according to the same sources, Snooki (Nicole Polizzi), who's lost her famed "pouf" and, last week debuted red-hued hair, will follow suit tomorrow when she's slated to begin filming.

'Jersey Shore' House Ups Rent to $2,500 a Night

by Danny Gallagher, posted Mar 11th 2010 8:02PM
The Jersey Shore houseIf you want to spend a night in the house that Snooki, J-Woww and the Situation slept in, the price of Scotchguard won't be the only thing driving your expenses through the roof.

The owners of the 'Jersey Shore' Seaside Heights house are charging tenants up to $2,500 a night and that includes a signed lease.

It's also not the first time a former MTV reality show abode has attracted a higher asking price. The 'Real World: Las Vegas' at the Palms goes for $5,000 a night. Again, the price of Scotchguard must be just astronomical.

Leno's First Guests on 'Tonight' Include Sarah Palin and the Cast of 'Jersey Shore'

by Bob Sassone, posted Feb 22nd 2010 5:50PM
LenoJay Leno will be back behind the desk (yes the desk is coming back! and the couch!) on NBC's 'The Tonight Show' when the show returns after the Olympics are over (March 1, next Monday). So who will Jay have as guests his first big week back? Why, Steve Guttenberg and Carrot Top, of course!

Well, OK, actually he has some bigger names than that. The guests his first week are Jamie Foxx, Lindsey Vonn, and Brad Paisley (Monday), Sarah Palin and Shaun White (Tuesday), the cast of 'Jersey Shore,' Chelsea Handler, Apollo Ohno, and Avril Lavigne (Wednesday), Matthew McConaughey and Jason Reitman (Thursday), and Morgan Freeman and Meredith Vieira (Friday). Media Decoder also has his second week of guests, and they include 'American Idol's' Simon Cowell and 'Twilight's' Kristen Stewart.

No word yet on who David Letterman will have on his show next week. I know, it would be fun to see Conan but something tells me that's not going to happen yet.

'Jersey Shore's J-Woww and Snooki Ain't Italians

by Danny Gallagher, posted Feb 19th 2010 9:02PM
Whoever said 'Jersey Shore' is a show that just prolongs outdated and blanket stereotypes about Italian Americans can just eat their words. So chow down, world, on a tasty bit of poultry that I call "crow-a-la-king."

J-Woww, real name Jenni Farley, told Fox News during an interview that she and some of her show's castmates aren't full blooded Italians.

She also outed Snooki who she said is actually Chilean. Guess she can take "guidette" off of that tramp stamp now. Ouch.

The New Jersey Lady Watches 'Jersey Shore'

by Danny Gallagher, posted Feb 15th 2010 8:18PM
Just how accurate is the unadulterated Jerseyness that is MTV's 'Jersey Shore'? Not very, according to this lady.

Florence Lazar, known to many circles of the Internet as the "NJ Lady," has watched the MTV reality show and she more than a few choice words for how the show portrays her native soil. And unlike the reality show, none of them had to be censored.
