Wendy Williams talks about Nicole Richie and Jessica SimpsonThe reality competition show 'Fashion Star' isn't even close to premiering on NBC yet, but Wendy Williams has already started gossiping about it. Back for a new season of 'The Wendy Williams Show' (weekdays, syndicated on CBS), Williams talked about potential problems between 'Fashion Star' mentors Nicole Richie and Jessica Simpson.

"You're not going to see this show until, it's like a mid-season replacement, somewhere around later in the winter," said Williams. "But Nicole's reps are denying that they're having any fights at all. Sources told US Magazine that there is friction, however, on the set. They say that Nicole thinks that Jessica doesn't know high fashion."

Vanessa Minnillo, 'Nick & Vanessa's Dream Wedding'Nick Lachey is back on reality television with his wife. Only it's not Jessica Simpson, though her presence is still felt in 'Nick & Vanessa's Dream Wedding' (Sat., 9PM ET on TLC).

While he was marrying Vanessa Minnillo in this special, it's his past with Simpson that made this event a paparazzi picture parade.

"It's funny to me that they care, because I'd like to think that Nick and I are somewhat boring," Minnillo said. "But they care."

Her other concern was what she dubbed "the elephant in the room." As she and Lachey were planning their dream wedding, Jessica Simpson was also engaged to NFL tight end Eric Johnson.

Could Fox be Close to Announcing New 'American Idol' Judges?

by Catherine Lawson, posted Jul 29th 2010 6:30AM
Jessica SimpsonReady for more judgely speculation 'Idol' watchers? Then hold onto your hats. Hot on the heels of news that Nigel Lythgoe's set to return to the show he helped steer to success, Entertainment Weekly is reporting that a decison on who'll fill the chairs at judges' table next season could be imminent.

A source close to the show is quoted as saying: "The network's dream scenario would be to make a splashy announcement at TCA on Monday morning," referring to Fox's presentation at the 2010 TCA Press Tour, which is scheduled for Aug. 2. "They'd be the talk of TCA, and the message to other networks would essentially be, 'Follow that!'"

And with maybe only days to go, yet another celebrity name has been thrown into the ever-expanding pool of possible new judges, and that name is ... (drum roll, please) ... Jessica Simpson! That's right: Just about the first woman who's not Paula Abdul to be linked with a seat at judges' table is none other than the diminutive Texan warbler and TV reality show veteran.

According to TMZ, Simpson's had "several meetings" with the 'Idol' top brass, and that there's "mutual interest." Although a source close to the show let slip that "I'm not sure whether her people approached 'Idol,' or if it was the other way around."

Jessica Simpson appeared today on 'The Rachael Ray Show' (weekdays, syndicated) and gave the common man a reason to celebrate. Simpson said she's open to the idea of dating regular men as a way to avoid the tabloid scrutiny that comes with dating those who are famous.

Granted, Simpson doesn't seem to come to this conclusion without some serious prompting from Rachael Ray. But, at least there's hope, right?

Jessica Simpson Eats a Fried Bug (VIDEO)

by Jane Boursaw, posted Mar 16th 2010 1:20AM
The Price of Beauty, Jessica Simpson Jessica Simpson has come a long way since her days on 'Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica' when the whole chicken of the sea/tuna thing confused her. Now she's traveling the world and eating bugs on 'Jessica Simpson's The Price of Beauty' (Mon., 9PM ET on VH1).

Good for her, and kudos on the bug thing. Sure, they're fried, but they'd have to be fried and covered in chocolate and marshmallows before we'd even considering popping them in our mouth. And even then, it would depend on the bug.

What to Watch: March 15

by Kim Potts, posted Mar 15th 2010 6:00AM
'Jessica Simpson's The Price of Beauty' (10PM, VH1) series premiere
Blame it all on those mom jeans. Still dealing with comments about her weight that began when she was photographed wearing those infamous high-waist jeans during a concert in 2009, pop star Simpson rejoins reality TV land with this series, in which she travels all over the world and examines what women in other cultures do in the name of beauty. In the opener, Simpson and BFF CaCee Cobb and hairdresser pal Ken Paves jet off to Thailand, where Simpson experiences first hand the tribal custom of women lengthening their necks by wearing heavy metal rings. Future eps find her in Uganda, where brides actually gain as much weight as they can before they're married, as well as Japan, France, Brazil, Morocco and Los Angeles. The series will also find Simpson speaking freely about events in her personal life, which means John Mayer should probably not tune in.

The Simpsons vs. 'Melrose Place': Which Side Are You On?

by Chris Jordan, posted Nov 3rd 2009 3:00PM
Ashlee SimpsonIt's the Simpsons (the family, not the Fox animated series) vs. 'Melrose Place' -- and it's starting to get ugly.

Very ugly.

The latest salvo: Today, an anonymous source from the show blasted Ashlee Simpson-Wentz on Fox411, claiming that "Ashlee was kicked off 'Melrose Place' because she was a total diva on set, late all the time, and deeply disliked by fellow cast members.''

Simpson-Wentz has been under fire all week. Yesterday, another anonymous 'Melrose'-er told US Mag that the show hired her "because they needed a good name to help create buzz but she was embarrassingly bad. Producers cut her down as much as possible.''

Twins on Television

by Stephanie Earp, posted Oct 20th 2009 12:37PM

It's official - this little girl is all grown up. I know it because at a party last week, a friend told me how much an actress on 'Bones' reminds her of me, and a bunch of complete strangers agreed.

Well it was actually a bit more complicated than that, because it took everyone a while to figure out which forensic procedural they meant - 'NCIS' and the various 'CSI's came up, but in the end it proved that Micheala Conlin, who plays Angela on 'Bones' was the doppelganger in question.

I am so flattered.

Not because Conlin is beautiful, which she is, or even because she's sort of famous, or because the character she plays is smart. I'm flattered because Conlin is not Lacey Chabert.

jessica simpson the price of beauty reality tv vh1We warned you about Jessica Simpson's latest idea for a reality TV show back in May. The pop star was shopping around a project starring herself called The Price of Beauty in which "she and a friend set off on a road trip around the world in search of what people find beautiful and why," according to an US Weekly source.

It looks like the show is moving ahead and is set to air on VH1, the home of celebrity trash TV, sometime in 2010. Simpson will travel the world meeting women, and pop culture "icons," to discuss fashion, beauty and, of course, take part in some extreme beauty regimes and practices.
