What follows is a trailer for the new Doctor Who semi-spin-off, K9. It can't be considered a real, official spin-off because the BBC is in no way involved in the production.

This version of K9 shouldn't be confused with the one on The Sarah Jane Adventures. Per one of its creators Bob Baker (who is overseeing production on this show), it's the original that was left with Leela by the Doctor in his 4th incarnation.

The robot dog definitely has a different look (and a different voice). I'm not sure how I feel about it. Supposedly it will "regenerate" early in the first episode (a trick learned on Gallifrey) to its current version. The show itself looks like classic kid's television. It could even be seen as a direct competitor to the aforementioned Sarah Jane Adventures, where the character of K9 has also made the occasional cameo.
