'True Blood' Hottie Joe Manganiello Headed to 'Two and a Half Men'

by Maggie Furlong, posted Sep 24th 2011 3:00PM
Joe ManganielloHow will 'Two and a Half Men' try to maintain their surge in ratings after saying goodbye to Charlie Sheen's character (rest in peace in that dust buster, Charlie Harper) and welcoming Ashton Kutcher's Walden Schmidt into the fold?

Let's just say we like the casting choices we're hearing.

First, Judy Greer will be popping by throughout the season to play Kutcher's TV ex, Bridget, and now EW is reporting that 'True Blood' star Joe Manganiello will be playing her hot new boyfriend on the Oct. 24 episode.

Yes, Bon Temps' sexiest werewolf is a nice (if not totally unexpected) addition to the show. He also pretty much ensures that Bridget and Walden will never get back together -- sorry, but no one leaves that -- meaning Walden will be around to be Alan's (Jon Cryer) sugar daddy for a while.

Joe Manganiello Hints at a 'True Blood' Housecleaning on 'Good Day LA' (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted Aug 25th 2011 6:30PM
Joe Manganiello of 'True Blood' on 'Good Day LA' 'True Blood' fans, get ready for a bloodbath. Or, well, more of a bloodbath than the ones you're used to seeing every week. Thursday on 'Good Day LA' (weekdays, 9AM PT on Fox), werewolf Joe Manganiello hinted that the season will end with fewer characters than were there at the beginning. But those few characters will probably still be having sex with each other.

"You're going to see more blood, more sex," he said, "and actually at the last table read -- usually our table reads are known for being huge casts sitting around the table -- by the final table read, it got very lonely. There were not many of us left, I'll say that."

by Jason Hughes, posted Jul 26th 2011 4:50AM
Joe Manganiello, 'Chelsea Lately'When Joe Manganiello joined the cast of 'True Blood' as friendly werewolf Alcide, he was entering a world of sex and supernatural craziness that's almost unprecedented on television. And yet, it was comments by one Chelsea Handler that caused the most stir in his family, according to what he said on 'Chelsea Lately' (Weeknights, 11PM ET on E!).

"I know at the MTV Movie Awards I made a joke about sitting on your face or something, and I know she was upset," Handler said of Manganiello's fiancé. That's why she was sure to clarify to her audience that he was off the market.

But that joke, which Manganiello didn't even hear -- he was backstage at the time -- caused more than just drama with his fiancé.

Joe Manganiello Promoted to Series Regular on 'True Blood'

by Ryan McKee, posted Jul 23rd 2010 10:02AM
Spoiler alert! The new hot werewolf in 'True Blood' will not die this season. How can we be so sure? Because the actor who plays Alcide Herveaux, Joe Manganiello, has been named a series regular for season four.

Herveaux is an important character in the 'The Southern Vampire Mysteries' books in which 'True Blood' is based. However, people who've read the series know a character's fate doesn't always stick to the novels story-lines. For example, Lafayette would already be dead by now, yet he's still out there slinging vampire blood.

'True Blood's' Sookie Shines With an Inner Light (VIDEO)

by Oliver Miller, posted Jul 19th 2010 3:00AM
'True Blood's' Sookie Shines With an Inner LightIt's always nice to see star-crossed lovers get reunited again. Of course, since this is 'True Blood' (Sun., 9PM ET on HBO), there's inevitably going to be some sort of wrench in the works.

[Spoiler alert.]

Sookie (Anna Paquin) and Bill (Stephen Moyer) have been separated ever since the last season of the show. Now, they finally catch up with each other, meeting up in Jackson, Mississippi. The lovers gets to hug and talk for all of about 30 seconds ... and then the Vampire King of Mississippi shows up.

The Vampire King (Denis O'Hare) attacks with his combined vampire/werewolf minions. Bill and Alcide (Joe Manganiello) are quickly defeated, but that's when Sookie strikes back! She uses her magical light "zappy" powers that we've only seen once before, and sends a werewolf flying across the room.

You'd think that the Vampire King would be annoyed by this. Instead, he's delighted. "Fantastic!" he says, while laughing with maniacal glee. Hmm. Why is the King so pleased? And what is the exact nature of Sookie's new power, anyway? Hopefully, all will be revealed in the next episode.

Vampires aren't enough these days. You need a solidly built werewolf, too.

And 'True Blood' creator/exec producer Alan Ball just found one in the form of 'One Tree Hill''s Joe Manganiello. TVGuide.com has confirmed that the actor, who turns 33 on Dec. 28 and enjoys a recurring role on CBS' 'How I Met Your Mother' these days, has been cast Alcide Herveaux, a werewolf who gets, er, close to the telepathic Sookie (Anna Paquin).
