Husband and Wife Pair on 'Nip/Tuck' Separate for New Pilots
It looks like the McNamara's of 'Nip/Tuck' won't be getting back together anytime soon. With the popular FX series wrapping its run this season, The Hollywood Reporter tells us that both Dylan Walsh and Joely Richardson, who played the couple, have scored roles in new pilots. One of the fun things about long-running series coming to an end is speculating on what kind of roles the actors will wind up in next. While some go to movies, and some seem to fade away into behind-the-scenes work, or even other professions entirely, many immediately look to continue working on existing and new series.
After getting so familiar with seeing an actor or actress in a certain role, it can be jarring to try and imagine them as a completely different character. For example, Walsh will be going from a smooth plastic surgeon to a bad-ass government agent, while Richardson is transforming into a high-powered attorney.

'The Tudors' Season 4 to Premiere April 11, 2010
Look for royal domination when 'The Tudors' returns for a final round of royalty, mayhem, and wives on April 11, 2010.'The Tudors' star Jonathan Rhys-Meyers has drawn wide acclaim as Henry VIII, and was nominated for a Best Actor Golden Globe two years in a row. 'Tudors' co-star and longtime friend James Frain says Rhys-Myers has really "owned" the show, which will wrap next year after four seasons.
"I have known Johnny for a while -- I did a movie with him in '97 called 'Titus,' right when we were both starting out," Frain told us at last week's Hollywood premiere of his film 'Everybody's Fine.' "It's really cool to see him be like 'the star' that he's become, and really just own that, and take that into being this great, incredible character."

'Nip/Tuck' Canceled
After six seasons of sex, serial killers and silicone, 'Nip/Tuck' will no longer be getting any work done.'Nip/Tuck,' which co-starred Julian McMahon, Dylan Walsh and Joely Richardson, will have lasted an impressive 100 episodes by the end of its run (the 100th episode wrapped shooting on June 12). But according to the LA Times, fans won't get to see the big farewell until 2011, as the final season has been split into two parts (cue the stress wrinkles).
Still, McMahon promises a good ending.
Hold the onion rings: James Gandolfini speaks - TCA Report
Will Nip/Tuck have a season six? Why is James Gandolfini going back to HBO and will Larry David end Curb Your Enthusiasm?
These tidbits -- and a tons of swag -- came out at today's TCA press sessions at the Beverly Hilton hotel. I had to remind myself that today was a cable day because the roster of talent read like a major network.
Jason Priestly (Beverly Hills 90210) led the cast of Side Order of Life, a Lifetime series in which star Marisa Coughlan has second thoughts about marrying Priestly. But, hey, if Big dumped Natasha on Sex in the City then I suppose anything's possible.
ABC bird flu movie to scare us even further
Lately, there
isn't a day that goes by where we don't here something about the bird flu that may, or may not, be passed along to
humans. Not to get too freaky, but experts are saying that a worst case scenario would be 20 million Americans
affected, 2 million dead, schools and businesses shutdown to prevent the spread of the disease. So, you would think
that the networks' entertainment divisions would give us something light and fluffy to keep our minds off of this
fact.
Um, apparently not.
Disney-owned ABC, who gave us the nuclear war disaster movie The Day After back in the 1980's, will air Fatal Contact: Bird Flu in America during the May sweeps period. The movie will star Stacy Keach, Joely Richardson, Ann Cusack and Justine Machado, and will ask the question 'What if bird flu was transmitted to humans in America?'. The producers say they made the movie because of its topicality.
Personally, I'll be skipping this movie and look for some more gentle fare, like 10.5:Apocalypse on NBC.
