Johnny Depp Talks About US Customs Pulling Guns on Him for 'Drugs' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Nov 14th 2011 12:30AM
Johnny Depp, 'The Graham Norton Show'On 'The Graham Norton Show' (Sat., 10PM ET on BBC America), Johnny Depp said he once told a customs agent that he had piranha and vampire bats in one of his bags. We thought he was cracking a joke for Norton's audience. Then, we thought maybe he was cracking a joke for the customs officials.

It turns out he really did have these things, along with a powdered vitamin supplement that somehow exploded all over the contents of the bag. At this point, Ricky Gervais completely hijacked the interview to get Depp back on point. The actor was talking about the powder, but that clearly wasn't the most interesting part of this story.

Chelsea Handler Supports Johnny Depp Partying Too Hard (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Nov 4th 2011 5:45AM
'Chelsea Lately'When tabloid magazines like In Touch Weekly put together an article saying that Johnny Depp is partying too hard, despite having previously sworn off alcohol, they're expecting readers to be outraged, or shocked at the very least. On 'Chelsea Lately' (Weeknights, 11PM ET on E!), Chelsea Handler didn't have either of those reactions.

"Why shouldn't Johnny Depp be partying?" she asked. "I support his partying. He's playing Hunter S. Thompson in a movie and he gives us movies every year. Go get f***** up!"

And actually, maybe he's just getting into the character of Hunter S. Thompson, in which case we'd better worry about far worse things than him getting drunk.

Johnny Depp Talks Justin Bieber on 'Late Show' (VIDEO)

by Catherine Lawson, posted Oct 28th 2011 5:30AM
Johnny Depp, 'Late Show'Johnny Depp knows a thing or two about being a teen heartthrob, so who better to consider the phenomenon known as Justin Bieber? The first time Depp came across the Bieb, he told 'Late Show' (Weeknights., 11:30PM ET on CBS) host David Letterman, was when he was doing press interviews for his movie 'Rango.'

When a journalist acted Depp if he was "a Belieber" the actor was at first confused, and he thought maybe the guy either had a speech impediment or had downed a few drinks. But then the old synapses fired off and he realized what the guy was talking about.

So Depp said, "Of course, I'm a huge Belieber." And then, as if by magic, Bieber himself appeared in the room. "I don't know if we summoned him up?" joked Depp.

by Aimee Deeken, posted Mar 25th 2011 5:00AM
Penelope Cruz Talks Johnny Depp on 'Kimmel'Did you know Johnny Depp owns a fart machine? We did not -- though apparently he's had it for at least a decade, and Penélope Cruz assumed everyone knew about it.

She discovered it while working with Depp on 'Blow' in 2001. "I was doing a very dramatic closeup," Cruz recalled on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' (weeknights, 12AM ET on ABC). Using a remote control, "he kept making that sound with the machine ... I was just thinking I hope they are not thinking it's me! And Johnny was [standing] there with a straight face."

The actors recently worked together again on 'Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.' Cruz, now was wise to the prank, watched Depp fool producer Jerry Bruckheimer and director Rob Marshall.

Isla Fisher Almost Kissed Johnny Depp During the Filming of 'Rango' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Mar 4th 2011 3:52AM
Isla Fisher, 'Chelsea Lately''Rango' is an animated film that has a very distinct and different look from most of the computer-animated movies we've seen. It also had a rather different filmmaking process as well, according to Isla Fisher on 'Chelsea Lately' (Weeknights 11PM ET on E!).

Chelsea Handler assumed it was like most animated movies, with the actors isolated in their sound booths reading out their lines, but the production was much more active than that. "We actually shot this a little like a play," Fisher said. "We were on a sound stage and we acted it out. You know, we got to react off of each other."

Handler was determined to imagine Fisher showing up with no hair and make-up in her PJs, but that wasn't the case. "I was working with Johnny Depp, so I did make some effort."

Johnny Depp Laughs About Filming a Sexy Scene With Angelina JolieOn the new 'Late Show' (weeknights, 11:35PM ET on CBS), Johnny Depp cracked up while discussing a sexy scene involving himself and Angelina Jolie. Still, for some people -- possibly including Depp's girlfriend -- this might not be a laughing matter. And things are made more complicated by the fact that Depp has worked with Angelina's partner, Brad Pitt.

Johnny and Jolie co-star in the upcoming thriller 'The Tourist.' Depp's latest film contains a link to his first major acting job -- his role on the 1980s teen drama '21 Jump Street.' Mr. Brad Pitt was on that show too (here's a fairly hilarious video featuring the two of them). But all of that was a long, long time ago ...

A Newspaper Gets Ben Affleck Mixed Up With Ben Stiller (VIDEO)

A Newspaper Gets Ben Affleck Mixed Up With Ben StillerBen Affleck is famous around the world, and has just released the new film 'The Town' -- which he wrote, directed, and starred in. But that still doesn't keep reporters from confusing him with other people, as we learned on the latest 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' (weeknights, 12AM ET on ABC).

Jimmy's sidekick Guillermo brought a Spanish-language newspaper into the studio. The paper very politely listed Affleck next to Tom Hanks and Johnny Depp -- which is pretty good company, acting-wise. Unfortunately, the paper also got Ben's name slightly wrong, calling him "Ben Stiller." Whoops. "This is bullsh*t!" Affleck said. As it turned out, the article wasn't even about him. The paper just mixed up his photograph with Stiller's.

Johnny Depp, Sandra Bullock Top 2010 People's Choice Awards Winners

by AOL TV Staff, posted Jan 7th 2010 2:16AM
Sandra Bullock, People's Choice Awards 2010It was a low-key night for the 2010 People's Choice Awards, the 36th annual gala celebrating fan favorites in movies, TV and music. Nothing particularly amazing or outlandish happened, and most of the stars donned conventional gowns, including host Queen Latifah, who looks fabulous these days. She started the show off with a musical medley, including Susan Boyle's hit 'I Dreamed a Dream,' then launched into the presentations.

We didn't see all of the awards being presented, including Favorite Talk Show Host, won by Ellen DeGeneres. But, of course, she had a few words to say about it. "Oprah, I love you, and I'm sorry your show got canceled." Then she added something about winning eleven times, "one for each of Sandra Bullock's toes." Maybe that was a private joke between the two?
