Jon Stewart Unveils First Person Sprayer Xbox 360 Game 'Black Friday' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Nov 29th 2011 4:00AM
'The Daily Show with Jon Stewart'Inspired by the woman who pepper-sprayed her way to an Xbox 360 system at a Wal-Mart, Jon Stewart came up with a whole new genre of video game on 'The Daily Show' (Weeknights, 11PM ET on Comedy Central). The fact that the woman was allowed to buy the system and take it home, essentially rewarding her for this behavior, made him realize that pepper spray may be the weapon of choice in the future.

So he presented the new Xbox 360 first person sprayer, 'Black Friday.' In this game, you navigate the corridors of a store, armed with your trusty can of pepper spray. As you near your desired purchases, let loose to keep other shoppers from getting their hands on your prize. It's a game the whole family can play -- and at least one person in real life.

Jon Stewart Jokes About How Odd Twitter Account Names Sound on the News (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Jul 28th 2011 5:16AM
'The Daily Show with Jon Stewart'With the advent of Twitter into the social landscape, our news broadcasts have started sounding pretty strange. In the old days, when a news story wanted to talk about reader feedback, they had letters or man-on-the-street interviews, but social media has changed all that.

And, as Jon Stewart showed us on 'The Daily Show' (Weeknights, 11PM ET on Comedy Central), that's not all that's changed.

Now that we're getting instant responses and feedback from Twitter and other like sites, we're hearing Twitter handles instead of real people's names.

Lewis Black Takes on Glenn Beck (VIDEO)

by Oliver Miller, posted May 13th 2010 3:35AM
Lewis Black Takes on Glenn BeckFox News personality Glenn Beck is apparently fairly angry. He's mad that some people have been comparing the new Arizona anti-immigration bill to laws that were passed in Nazi Germany. On 'The Daily Show' (weeknights, 11PM ET on Comedy Central), comedian Lewis Black takes issue with Beck's anger. Black points out that Glenn Beck makes a lot of comparisons to Nazis himself.

The comic shows a video montage in which Beck compares the following things to Hitler or the Nazis -- Al Gore, the Peace Corps, warnings about global warming, a speech by President Obama, and so on. Black accuses Glenn Back of having "Nazi Tourette's." That is, he accuses him of just blurting out the word "Nazi" at odd times.

Black then offers some advice to Beck, saying that if he's so afraid of Nazis, he should just go hide in an attic -- and not make any sound. Zing!

Who do you think is right in this debate? Lewis Black or Glenn Beck?

Jon Stewart Sings 'Go F**k Yourself' to Muslim Extremists (VIDEO)

by Donald Deane, posted Apr 23rd 2010 12:30PM
Jon Stewart encored his song "Go F**k Yourself" on 'The Daily Show' (weeknights, 11PM ET on Comedy Central), aiming it at Muslim extremists who sent death threats to 'South Park' creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker for their portrayal of the prophet Muhammad in the last two episodes of the cartoon.

"By now, those of you with access to media have probably heard that our good friends and colleagues Matt and Trey got in a little bit of trouble during the airing of their weekly animated series 'South Park.' And by trouble, I mean veiled death threats," Stewart said, then launching into a gospel-tinged kiss-off of anyone "threatening death in the name of religion or politics."

'South Park' Creators Respond to Censorship

by Scott Harris, posted Apr 23rd 2010 10:30AM
'South Park' creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker have responded to Comedy Central's decision to censor the latest episode of the subversive cartoon following threats from a militant Islamic group.

In a statement released on their South Park Studios Web site, Stone and Parker said, "In the 14 years we've been doing 'South Park' we have never done a show that we couldn't stand behind. We delivered our version of the show to Comedy Central and they made a determination to alter the episode. It wasn't some meta-joke on our part. Comedy Central added the bleeps. In fact, Kyle's customary final speech was about intimidation and fear. It didn't mention Muhammad at all but it got bleeped too. We'll be back next week with a whole new show about something completely different and we'll see what happens to it."

by Donald Deane, posted Apr 22nd 2010 4:00PM
Bill O'Reilly tries to make sense out of Jon Stewart's ongoing war with Fox News on 'The O'Reilly Factor' (weekdays, 8PM ET on FNC), declaring Stewart as an emerging "point man for the left-wing media" who is "genuinely offended" by Fox News.

"With the decline of the New York Times and other liberal newspapers ... [Stewart] is now the face of the left on television. He's far more influential than Bill Maher, Michael Moore, all of these other bomb throwers. And he, himself, is smart," O'Reilly said.

And now, a moment of zen for late-night TV.

According to the New York Times, Comedy Central recently signed its two award-winning "fake news" stars -- Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert -- to deals that would keep them on the air through 2012's presidential election.

"Jon and Stephen have established themselves not only on the cable landscape but also on the cultural landscape," said Doug Herzog, President of MTV Networks, which owns Comedy Central. "I think of myself as the manager of the '61 Yankees. I just wanted to keep writing Mantle and Maris into the lineup as many seasons as I can."

Robin Williams on 'The Daily Show with Jon Stewart'More cow valve! When 'The Daily Show' (weeknights, 11PM ET on COM) host Jon Stewart asked Robin Williams how his post-surgery heart was doing, the actor didn't mince words.

Always quick with a routine, this one a Christopher Walken impression, "More cow valve," Williams painted a not so lovely image.

"The wonderful thing about a cow valve is you can [bleep] standing up," Williams said, causing Stewart to double over in laughter -- or horror.

"I did not need that image," Stewart said. Us too Jon, us too.

Jon Stewart Impersonates Glenn Beck (VIDEO)

The Daily ShowJon Stewart did his best Glenn Beck impersonation on last night's episode of 'The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.'

In the clip, Stewart mocks the conservative pundit's lively persona with a hilarious breakdown of the term "conservative libertarian," which sheds some interesting light on Bert from 'Sesame Street,' among other things.

But don't take our word for it. Watch the clip after the jump.
