Jonah Hill Tries to Convince Stewart That Brad Pitt Is a Nice Guy (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Dec 7th 2011 3:30AM
Jonah Hill, 'The Daily Show with Jon Stewart'While both men agreed they wished Brad Pitt was a huge jerk, Jonah Hill tried to convince Jon Stewart that it simply wasn't so. How could a man be that handsome and a great guy? Alas, according to Hill on 'The Daily Show' (Weeknights, 11PM ET on Comedy Central), that's exactly what he is.

He even let Hill stay in his house in New Orleans for months while Hill was filming a movie. Hill did admit to having a lot of fun with the tourists who were stopping to see the famous Brad Pitt house. They'd get all psyched when he pulled up, and then confused and let down to see that it was just him.

When Stewart asked if Angelina Jolie was staying at the house as well -- was Pitt that nice? -- Hill had to admit that there is a limit to what Pitt was willing to give.

Jonah Hill's Mom Thinks He Knows All the Celebrities (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Dec 6th 2011 3:00AM
Jonah Hill, 'Late Show with David Letterman'Confidence goes a long way in this life. Just as Jonah Hill's mother. He spoke of her on 'Late Show' (Weeknights, 11:35PM ET on CBS), specifically about how she's enjoying getting to meet various celebrities now that her son is one of them.

It also helps that she goes into each encounter with the assumption that the celebrity she's meeting not only knows Jonah, but is good friends with him. After all, we always see them smiling and hugging on awards shows. Is it too much to assume that they all hang out together all the time?

We just love the idea of her going up to any random celebrity and saying, "Hi, I'm Jonah's mom!"

Jonah Hill Talks the Fate of 'Allen Gregory,' '21 Jump Street' & Co-Hosting 'Live! With Kelly'

by Maggie Furlong, posted Dec 2nd 2011 11:00AM
Jonah HillFrom Oscar buzzy sports drama 'Moneyball' with Brad Pitt, to his turn re-imagining an '80s classic with the big screen '21 Jump Street,' to his Fox animated series 'Allen Gregory' and a stint co-hosting 'Live! with Kelly' next week, it's safe to say that Jonah Hill is having an awesomely schizophrenic moment in his career.

I caught up with the actor/writer/producer/funnyman to find out about the fate of 'Allen Gregory' (season finale airs Sun., Dec. 4, 8:30PM ET on Fox), his absurdly inappropriate animated series that finds him voicing a precocious seven-year-old who sips fine wine and lusts after his geriatric school principal. The show's gotten mixed reviews and has done little in terms of ratings for its first batch of episodes -- and, as expected, it was nowhere on the midseason schedule Fox just unveiled -- but that's fine by Hill.

"I just think everything on TV is so boring that our show ... [laughs] look, our show is not exactly killing it in the ratings," Hill laughed. "We're not a show that's gonna win a bunch of Emmys or get 20 million viewers a week. But we totally stand by what we do and aren't gonna change that for anything. Our central love story is between a six-year-old kid and a hideous 80-year-old lady, you know? I feel really prideful that we got that on the air."

Check out the rest of our chat, including scoop on his 'Jump Street' costar Channing Tatum and his next project that'll reunite him with some old pals, after the jump.

'Allen Gregory' Falls Madly In Love With ... His Principal? (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Oct 31st 2011 4:45AM
'Allen Gregory' - 'Pilot'It's pretty rare for an animated series to be so clear in its vision with the very first episode, but 'Allen Gregory' (Sun., 8:30PM ET on FOX) seems to know exactly what it's going to be about. It has a crisp look, well-defined characters and a lead who's completely unlikable but utterly fascinating.

Voiced by Jonah Hill, Allen Gregory is more than just another genius grade schooler. He's arrogant, socially clueless and way more confident than he should be. And he's apparently into much, much, much older women.

When he first lays eyes on his principal -- and the first thing he sees is her behind -- he's immediately whisked off into a rather disturbing fantasy, to say the least, of the two of them jet-setting together on a romantic getaway.

Reviews: 'Allen Gregory' Disappoints But 'Beavis and Butt-Head' Rock Their Return

by Maureen Ryan, posted Oct 27th 2011 1:30PM
MTV has produced a lot of iconic images over the years, but when it comes to audio, its finest achievement may be a pair of unmistakable giggles.

'Beavis and Butt-head' (10PM ET Thursday, MTV) and their instantly recognizable "heheh hehehes" are back, but the news that Mike Judge and the network were resuscitating the slacker duo was a little scary when it emerged last year.

I have many fond memories of the way Beavis and Butt-head fearlessly and sophomorically commented on the overblown music videos and pop-culture icons of the '90s, but in a few years, I'll be exiting television's most desirable demographic, and I probably left MTV's a decade or two ago. Would new-school Beavis and Butt-head have relevance for those unfamiliar with their breathy giggles or would the show return as a musty and ultimately irrelevant museum piece aimed at the nostalgia crowd?

Jonah Hill Fought With a Couple at His Favorite Restaurant (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Oct 25th 2011 3:45AM
Jonah Hill, 'The Tonight Show with Jay Leno'This new, skinnier Jonah Hill is much more confident and aggressive than he used to be. Or at least, that's become more an aspect of the stories he likes to tell on talk shows like 'The Tonight Show' (Weeknights, 11:35PM ET on NBC).

When he's not feuding with Matthew Morrison, Hill is standing up for his right to privacy and a peaceful meal at his favorite sushi restaurant. By standing up, we mean quite literally standing, shouting and eventually getting into a shoving match with a middle-aged man in a suit.

Jonah Hill Previews 'Allen Gregory' and Talks About His Feud With Matthew Morrison (VIDEO)

by Alex Moaba, posted Oct 24th 2011 4:15PM
Jonah Hill has a new cartoon comedy coming out on Fox called 'Allen Gregory,' but all is not well within the Fox family. Hill dropped by 'Good Day LA' (weekdays, 7AM PT on Fox) to preview the new show and also discussed his ongoing feud with 'Glee' star Matthew Morrison.

Hill wrote and voices 'Allen Gregory' (premieres Sun., Oct. 30, 8:30PM ET on Fox), which follows a genius, erudite seven-year-old who's just starting at public school. While Allen prefers to drink Pinot Grigio and watch Charlie Rose, his contemporaries are more into finger-painting. "In animation you can do things you can never do in live action, like I couldn't play a seven-year-old on TV, so we kind of thought that was cool and took it from there," Hill said.

Matthew Morrison Responds to Jonah Hill Calling Him Out on 'Late Night' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Sep 27th 2011 5:30AM
Matthew Morrison, 'Late Night with Jimmy Fallon'It looks like this weird beef that's erupted between Jonah Hill and Matthew Morrison isn't done yet. Hill first brought it up on 'Late Night' (Weeknights, 12:37AM ET on NBC), talking about how Morrison apparently used his name as the punchline of a joke.

He then turned to the camera and called Morrison out, threatening him to come and face him. Well, on Monday night's show, 'Late Night' got a response tape from Morrison on the set of 'Glee.'

"Jonah, pick a date and I will meet you on 'Late Night with Jimmy Fallon' and we will settle this like men," he said angrily. "Because nobody messes with someone from musical theater!" At this, he started dancing around gleefully.

Jonah Hill's Friend Almost Killed Him With a Snorkeling Prank (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Sep 27th 2011 4:00AM
Jonah Hill, 'The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson'Jonah Hill loves pranks, or maybe he's just an easy target. He recently talked about Brad Pitt pranking his golf cart on the set of 'Moneyball,' but that was nothing compared to what another friend did. Hill told the tale on 'The Late Late Show' (Weeknights, 12:37AM ET on CBS), and while he was laughing, Craig Ferguson was horrified.

This friend misled him about how snorkels work, telling him he could go as deep into the ocean as he wanted. "I went all the way to the bottom of the ocean, and when I couldn't breathe anymore, I took in a huge breath of water and came up and was choking," Hill laughed.

Ferguson, though, wondered if this was really a friend at all. The two turned it into a bit, with Hill talking about other pranks she did on him to try and kill him like poisoning his food and cutting the brake lines on his car. You know, the kinds of things friends do all the time to one another.

Jonah Hill and Whitney Cummings Fight, Throw Water on 'Late Night' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Sep 22nd 2011 5:30AM
Whitney Cummings & Jonah Hill, 'Late Night with Jimmy Fallon'Things got a little out of hand between Jonah Hill and Whitney Cummings on 'Late Night' (Weeknights, 12:37AM ET on NBC), though Jimmy Fallon has a theory as to why Hill got so angry with Cummings.

First of all, she was rubbing it in that her boyfriend was his boss, though in actuality he's a co-creator on the new FOX comedy 'Allen Gregory' with Hill. When Hill was getting worked up -- jokingly, of course -- Fallon and Cummings tried to keep it cool.

But then he knocked his cup of water off the couch, splashing some water on Cummings' dress. He immediately apologized, but Fallon started shouting that he needed to stop losing weight. "It is making you angry!" he declared.

Jonah Hill Tells 'Late Show' About Getting Pranked by Brad Pitt (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Sep 21st 2011 3:00AM
Last night Jonah Hill stopped by 'Late Show' (Weeknights, 11:35PM ET on CBS) and talked about his 'Moneyball' co-star, Brad Pitt.

"He is incredibly skilled at pranking people," Hill said, and he even brought photographic evidence of one of Pitt's more elaborate pranks during filming.

Apparently, Hill was excited that for the first time he got a golf cart that was just for him to get around the set. Knowing how thrilled he was about it, the cart became the focal point of a great prank.

Not only did Pitt decorate the golf cart with a doctored photograph of him and Hill as if they were members of '80s pop duo Wham!, but he rigged the cart so that any time it was turned on, it played their hit 'Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go.'

"Never in my life I thought that Neo, Beyonce, like, Lady Gaga, Pippa," she said, "like, they would come up and like say they watch us. Seth, like, Rogen, like, Jonah Hill's like, it was insane, and I was just like Jersey Turnpiking Seth Rogen. Like, it was amazing."

Jane Lynch to Write Memoir, Russell Hantz Spoils 'Survivor' and More TV News

by Jean Bentley, posted Feb 1st 2011 1:30PM
Jane LynchJane Lynch will soon add "published author" to her list of accomplishments.

According to The New York Times, the comedian will release 'Happy Accidents,' an inspirational memoir, in September. The book will cover Lynch's career milestones, such as her time doing improv at Second City and acting in movies like 'Best in Show' and 'The 40-Year-Old Virgin, and more personal material like overcoming alcoholism and embracing her homosexuality.

"Sue Sylvester didn't come out of a vacuum," Lynch told the Times. "She's someone that lives very deeply in me. I kind of liked that shaming, vengeful energy during different periods of my life. I was in therapy and I was complaining about somebody not following the rules, and my therapist basically started laughing at me and said, you must write a monologue about this, because it's hilarious stuff."

In other TV news ...

Ricky Gervais might've annoyed some people at the Golden Globes, but that doesn't mean he won't be back. The comedian said he's already been invited to host next year's ceremony, 'Tourist' disses be darned. Though he's thinking about it, he said he's not sure if he wants to return. [Daily Mail]

The most accurate spoilers on the Internet might've come from contestant Russell Hantz himself. After a blogger was sued for revealing the results of seasons 19 and 20 before air, he gave up his source as the one and only Hantz. [Daily Beast]

Is NBC trying to stifle homosexuality on 'The Biggest Loser'? A blogger for AfterEllen seems to think so. While Jillian Michaels is an out bisexual and newbie Cara Castronuova is an out lesbian, NBC consistently denies interview requests with gay and lesbian press. Plus, there has never been a gay couple on the show, despite multiple 'Couples' seasons. [Jezebel]

Jonah Hill Got Dumped While Wearing Makeup and a 'Muumuu' (VIDEO)

by Oliver Miller, posted Nov 2nd 2010 6:25AM
Jonah Hill Got Dumped While Wearing Makeup and a 'Muummuu'Jonah Hill was the guest on 'Late Night' (weeknights, 12:37AM ET on NBC). The actor began his appearance by talking about the time he hosted 'Saturday Night Live.' But the conversation quickly turned into a discussion of his relationship woes.

Hill chatted with ex-'SNL' star Jimmy Fallon, saying that it had been his lifelong dream to host the comedy series. But when he finally got the 'Saturday Night' gig, it was marred by tragedy. (Well, dating tragedy, at least.)

While preparing to host the show, Hill brought his girlfriend to the week-long 'SNL' rehearsal. Suddenly, on the very last day, she called the studio and broke up with him. "I was so sad," Hill said. After his now-ex-girlfriend hung up the phone, Jonah made the vow that all rejected young men make: "She's gonna be sorry."
