Jonathan Groff Is Returning to 'Glee' -- With a Promotion!
by Maggie Furlong, posted Oct 26th 2011 3:15PM
Today I hit the set of 'Glee' to watch some fabulous ladies perform the show's big 300th musical number mash-up. (It's amazing, by the way ... more on that soon.)Yes, it's just another big moment in a long line of milestones for the chart-topping show, but a quick Q&A with the cast and producers afterward revealed some very fun casting scoop, too.
Jonathan Groff, a.k.a. fan-favorite Jesse St. James, is returning to 'Glee' later this season -- but not in another glee club.
'Glee' Preview: New Original Song Debuts, Jesse & Rachel Duet on 'Rolling in the Deep'
by Jean Bentley, posted May 10th 2011 4:05PM
When the New Directions take the stage in New York City for their Nationals competition on 'Glee,' they'll sing another original song.Ryan Seacrest premiered the new tune on his radio show this morning, and it sounds even better than the previous two original tracks. The song opens with Santana (singing to Brittany, we think?) and Artie taking the lead before the rest of the Gleeks join in.
Listen to the song after the jump, where we've also included a bonus video of tonight's return of Jesse St. James to McKinley High. There's a spontaneous duet with Rachel on Adele's 'Rolling in the Deep' involved, and it's as epic as you think it'll be.
Jonathan Groff Returning to 'Glee' for Three Episodes
by Jean Bentley, posted Mar 30th 2011 2:30PM
Darren Criss better watch his back -- 'Glee''s original curly-haired heartthrob guest star, Jonathan Groff, is heading back to the hit show for three episodes this season.Although it was previously reported that Groff's schedule might not allow time for him to return before the end of season 2, according to TV Line, Lea Michele's real-life BFF just closed a deal to appear in the final three episodes of the season.
Groff's Jesse St. James didn't leave on a good note at the end of last season -- Rachel found out he only wooed her as part of an evil plot from the Vocal Adrenaline director (who happened to be the New Directions diva's birth mother). As all televised seduction plots go, though, St. James' feelings for Rachel turned out to be real.
News Roundup: Ryan Murphy Teases 'Glee' Guests, Julie Bowen Talks 'Modern Family' Musical and More
by Chris Harnick, posted Oct 5th 2010 6:00PM
Ryan Murphy is at it again. He's talking 'Glee' every chance he gets, only this time it's on a subject we care about: Jonathan Groff's return. The 'Glee' boss told E! Online that Groff won't be around soon. "Jon Groff is definitely coming back next year," Murphy said. "Next calendar year. He's not available until January, but he'll be in the back [nine] episodes of this season."
As for the hyped post-Super Bowl episode, Murphy said he doesn't want to do something people expect. Rumors have swirled around Michael Jackson, Bruce Springsteen and Prince, but Murphy told E! that he doesn't know what he wants.
Cast members also told E! that they heard Murphy was planning an episode to respond to the recent gay suicide epidemic.

• Ron Moore is reportedly working on a reboot of 'The Wild Wild West.' The man responsible for Syfy's successful 'Battlestar Galactica' reboot is said to be in the early stages of writing a new version of the 1960s western. Too early to name networks or pretty much anything. [Ausiello Files]
• HBO is developing a new comedy with Kevin Bacon. The actor, who is executive producing, may also star on the country club comedy based on Clint McCown's book, 'Member-Guest.' [Deadline Hollywood]
• Is a 'Modern Family' musical episode on the way? If it is, Julie Bowen doesn't want to be a part of it. The cast recently took the stage a charity event with Bowen as host, but don't expect the star to belt a tune soon. While she said many of the other actors are musically inclined, she is not. "I could be in a coma and be imagining the whole thing in my head," she said. "It's an option." [TV Guide]
An All-Madonna Episode of 'Glee' (VIDEO)
by Oliver Miller, posted Apr 21st 2010 1:35AM
It's an entirely Madonna-based episode of 'Glee' (Tue., 9PM ET on Fox). All the songs on the show are by the original Material Girl. But as we know, singing love duets can often lead to romance. Which is what seems to happen when Finn (Cory Monteith) and Rachel (Lea Michele) skip down the school hallway while singing "Open Your Heart."Watch the video after the jump.

Well, things are starting to get complicated on 'Glee' (Mon., 9:30 PM ET on Fox). On the show, the glee club meets their rival gang, and things start to get a little weird... with sexy results. Or maybe not so sexy, depending on your point of view.Watch the video after the jump.
'Glee' Season One, Part Two - An Early Look
by Joel Keller, posted Apr 12th 2010 3:10PM

Hey, folks! Did you hear? 'Glee' is coming back on Tuesday! Wow, Fox really kept that comeback under wraps, didn't they? Gone for four months, they seem to be bringing the show back without a lot of fanfare.
Too bad sarcasm doesn't translate very well in electronic print, but, believe me, I was rolling my eyes the whole time I wrote the last paragraph. Between the interviews, the appearance on 'Oprah,' the performance at the White House, the Rolling Stone cover, the weird 9:28PM ET time slot after 'American Idol,' and pretty much everything else going on, you couldn't avoid the comeback of 'Glee' if you tried.
But is the show coming back in good shape? Fox sent out the next three episodes out for review, and the answer is: yes and no. It really depends on what your favorite part of the show is.
'Glee' to Premiere at 9:28PM on April 13
by Chris Harnick, posted Mar 26th 2010 1:45PM
Gleeks, you'd better make sure your DVR is set to 9:28PM ET on Apr. 13. Why? According to Fox, that's the official time when 'Glee' will return to the airwaves. While its exact time slot may look a little random, it's likely the decision was made to accommodate 'Glee's' lead-in, 'American Idol,' a live show that has a tendency to run long.
'Glee' will return to its normal 9PM ET time slot the following Tuesday.
Andy Richter: The TV Squad Interview
by Nick Zaino, posted Nov 23rd 2009 11:08AM
If you never managed to catch Andy Barker, P.I. when it originally aired two years ago, try not to beat yourself up. Though the show had an impressive cast, led by Andy Richter as a CPA-turned-private-investigator, and including Harve Presnell, Tony Hale, Marshall Manesh, and Clea Lewis. It was also created by Conan O'Brien and Jonathan Groff. But it only lasted six episodes, and didn't seem to get much push from NBC. Watching it on the newly released DVD, Andy Barker, P.I.: The Complete Series, it's hard not to feel the show could have had legs if given the chance. All's well that ends well, though, and Richter is happier than ever, paired again with Conan O'Brien on The Tonight Show, getting to do what he calls a "silly little comedy show" without dealing with the backwards world of the sitcom. I spoke with Richter earlier this week about Barker and being back with Conan.
Do you think Andy Barker, P.I. got a fair shake when it was first out?
Oh, certainly not. Absolutely not. It was sort of just, you know, shoved on TV and meant to go away.
