Joseph Gordon-Levitt Sings Kelly Clarkson As Axl Rose on 'Late Night' (VIDEO)
by Jason Hughes, posted Sep 28th 2011 6:15AM
When Jimmy Fallon and Joseph Gordon-Levitt were hanging out and having fun, drinking and singing karaoke, Fallon discovered an amazing gift that Gordon-Levitt has. So he decided to share that gift with all of us on 'Late Night' (Weeknights, 12:37AM ET on NBC).According to Fallon, Gordon-Levitt does the absolute best impression of Axl Rose. But why limit him to singing Guns N' Roses songs, when there's a whole cornucopia of musical sounds out there the great Axl Rose could sing. So he randomized the selection.
And then suddenly we were witness a thing of bizarre glory. Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Axl Rose singing Kelly Clarkson's 'Since U Been Gone.' And he did do a great impression. And that song sounded kind of awesome sung like that.
Review: Saturday Night Live - Joseph Gordon-Levitt/Dave Matthews Band

(S35E07) I imagine it played out like this: Joseph Gordon-Levitt was at home last week, trying to mentally prepare for his first go as Saturday Night Live host by watching January Jones. Her performance turned out to be wooden and incredibly low energy and, consequently, the laughs were minimal. This struck fear into Mr. Gordon-Levitt's heart, and, terrified, he dropped the pint of Phish Food that he was eating in my imagination. "I won't let this happen to me," I bet he said. "I'm going to eat two fistfuls of Pixi Stix at 11:25 p.m. Saturday night and have someone inject me with a near lethal dose of adrenaline. I'll also wear a lot of vests."
And that's how Joseph Gordon-Levitt managed to exhaust a seated audience through sheer enthusiasm and volume alone. Maybe.
10 Former TV Child Stars Who Aren't Crackheads
by Patricia Chui, posted Sep 3rd 2009 3:45PM
'Extract,' the new Mike Judge comedy opening in theaters this weekend, stars Jason Bateman as a bored factory manager. Those of us who grew up on '80s TV are thrilled that former child star Bateman's become such a success as an adult -- especially since we still think of him as Ricky Schroder's rambunctious best friend on 'Silver Spoons.' (Did anyone else watch 'It's Your Move' religiously? Just us?)It's quite a feat for Bateman to have come this far, as the list of former child stars is littered with tales of drug abuse, DUIs, anorexia, obscurity and death. And then there are those who pop up in the news for doing random things, such as Soleil Moon Frye resurrecting Punky Brewster to celebrate her massive Twitter following.
But why dwell on the negative and the bizarre? Here's a list of 10 formerly famous tykes who bucked the odds and emerged from childhood TV stardom -- often after long periods in which they took time off or struggled to find work -- and became famous adults in their own right. We couldn't be more proud.
