Dancing with the Stars: Performance 2 Results
by Michael Pascua, posted Sep 30th 2009 12:20AM
(S09E05) Monday was the first night that all fourteen contestants danced against each other on Dancing with the Stars. With the help of Baz Lurhmann, the scores were too close for week two.We get the first opening sequence and I vomited seeing it. With too many contestants, the names and faces swooped by too fast in swirled high-def colors. Having Macy Gray and Ashley Hamilton back to back is ironic and laughable.
Samantha is apparently growing a nest for birds. I kept trying to look for myself in her mirror neck-piece. It's a shame because the dress is pretty, but the hair and accessories failed her.
Joss Stone agrees to return for The Tudors final season

She kind of had to, didn't she? It's great that Joss Stone is coming back for The Tudors' fourth season, but considering her character outlived Henry himself and remained associated with him, she kind of needed to, didn't she? I guess they could have changed history some more and simply gotten rid of her, but I like that she's coming back. Stone has a sexy side that plays well in the world of The Tudors. And considering that she's playing the "homely" wife, that's a testament to her skills.

Jon Gosselin's rumored infidelities have made big headlines in recent weeks -- and now they have the fifth season premiere of 'Jon & Kate Plus 8' running late, as producers scramble to incorporate the couple's marital woes into the series. Yep, Jon is on a roll.In other news, Fox has pulled the dismally rated animated sitcom 'Sit Down, Shut Up' a week early, Lauren Graham and David E. Kelley's new pilots WON'T be picked up, and Joss Stone is set to return to 'The Tudors.'

American Idol: 1 of 10 goes home

This being the results show of Motown Night, the Idols sang a montage of Motown hits against a backdrop of classic Motown stars. Very nice. I also liked the Ford commercial, with the contestants putting together giant puzzle pieces while singing "Take Me Away." They look like they're having a blast.
Then the Velvet Teddy Bear Ruben Studdard sang a tune, and Ryan mentions that he was recently married. Congrats to Ruben!
And then the countdown begins with Adam Lambert up first. I can't imagine that he'd be going home, and sure enough, he's safe. With his ability to show such vastly different sides of his artistic talent, Adam has launched himself straight to the top of my favorites list.
Joss Stone joining the cast of The Tudors
by Erin Martell, posted Aug 6th 2008 9:04AM
R&B singer Joss Stone is giving television acting a try. Stone is taking on the role of Anne of Cleves in season three of Showtime's The Tudors. Anne of Cleves was Henry VIII's fourth wife; the marriage was annulled after less than a year. The role is Stone's first significant part on a TV series. She previously appeared in an episode of American Dreams and in the film Eragon.Fans of the singer will have to wait a while for Stone to turn up on the drama series. The third season begins with the king's marriage to Jane Seymour (played by Anita Briem), with Anne of Cleves coming into the picture later on.
Dancing With The Stars: Week 8 Results

(S04E15) I thought that Mandee made a great comment on the post for last week's results show. She said, "You know, the Results show has been morphing into a terrific '60s style variety show, with comedy segments, guest musical performers, and, of course, lots of dancing. A slice of retro-cool, for the whole family, from grandma to pre-tweens." I completely agree with that. The results show has always had to fight the problem that they only have about two minutes of actual results for their 60 minute show. Right now, it's as good as it has ever been. It's always going to be behind the performance show, because the star's performances are what it's all about, but the producers deserve credit for how much work is going into the results show. Enough about that though, we have results to get to.
Dancing With The Stars: Week 6 Results

(S04E11) ABC brought George Lopez back out of mothballs this week, so there was no 8:00 recap show. Instead, Tom and Samantha ran through the performances quickly at the beginning of the show. The best part of that was seeing Ian's reaction to the judge's comments last night. Much like many of the readers here, Ian didn't really understand where they were coming from. It's a good point, and something that seems to happen every season. For whatever reason, the judges get a burr under their saddle and just go after one of the better contestants, while soft-pedaling some of the lesser routines. His best course of action is to move along and know that he's in good company.
