Julianna Margulies Is Still Hoarse From Fallon's Awesome Emmy Party (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Sep 23rd 2011 5:15AM
Julianna Margulies, 'Late Night with Jimmy Fallon'Jimmy Fallon seems to be having an absolute blast with every installment of 'Late Night' (Weeknights, 12:37AM ET on NBC), and that fun generally rubs off on his guests. According to Julianna Margulies, he knows how to have fun at a party, too.

She was noticeably hoarse during the interview, which she explained was because of Fallon's Emmys after-party. "Jimmy threw truly the best party I've ever been to," she said of the star-studded affair.

Margulies actually had intended to cut out early, for work the next day, but decided she needed to stay after seeing new moms Amy Poehler, Tina Fey and Maya Rudolph dancing on a table with Fallon. It was that kind of party.

They went through the major categories and picked a few favorites from 'Mad Men,' 'The Good Wife,' and 'The Office.'

Christiani picked Jon Hamm over Steve Buscemi, Kyle Chandler, Michael C. Hall, Hugh Laurie, and Timothy Olyphant for lead actor in a drama. "It's his year. I don't know if you paid attention to 'Mad Men' last season, his character was so intense. The downward spiral -- Don Draper brought it to us this year." She also likes Julianna Margulies for 'The Good Wife,' citing the show's critical acclaim and fan popularity.

Julianna Margulies: 'Good Wife' Premiere Sex Scene Too Hot for Hubby (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Sep 2nd 2011 4:55AM
Julianna Margulies, 'Late Show with David Letterman'Julianna Margulies certainly got David Letterman's attention when she started talking about the season premiere of 'The Good Wife' on 'Late Show' (Weeknights, 11:35PM ET on CBS). It was her use of the word 'steamy' twice in describing one scene in particular.

"I'm inclined to believe you that it's steamy," he said. "I guess I don't know what steamy is. Nudity?"

"Semi-nudity," she said. "You can't do full frontal nudity."

But Letterman tried to get out of her just how much we were going to see, and all Margulies would confirm was a lot of thigh. She did say, though, that it's the first time she's been a little concerned about her husband watching her on television.

Julianna Margulies Talks 'The Good Wife' and Being a Working Mom

by Chris Harnick, posted Mar 16th 2010 3:30PM
'The Good Wife' is hot. Don't believe us? Just ask its star, Emmy winner Julianna Margulies.

Margulies, who has already nabbed a Golden Globe and a Screen Actors Guild award for her portrayal of Alicia Florrick on the CBS legal drama, claims tonight's episode (airing at 10PM) is the series' hottest one to date.

While promoting her new film, 'City Island,' in which she plays Joyce Rizzo, the crass wife of Vince (Andy Garcia), Margulies saved time to talk about 'The Good Wife,' her career aspirations for her son and the secret to being a successful working mother.

Peter Finds Condoms in Alicia's Drawer on 'The Good Wife' (VIDEO)

by Jane Boursaw, posted Mar 10th 2010 4:58AM
The Good WifeUh oh. It's always a bad sign when you come home from prison and find condoms in your wife's bedside drawer. Why? Because she has an IUD. Oh, she had it removed? Then who are the condoms for?! Who?!!!

You can just tell that the scene where Peter finds the condoms in Alicia's drawer on 'The Good Wife' (Tue., 10PM ET on CBS) is going to escalate into a knock-down drag-out fight. Of course, it would help if Peter was trustworthy in the marriage department. Time will tell on that score.

The Good Wife, Chris NothAwww ... Peter returned home to Alicia and the kids on 'The Good Wife' (10PM ET on CBS). It was a nice homecoming, though a little awkward with the law enforcement guy and silver briefcase in tow.

You've gotta think there are lots of emotions stirring in Peter and Alicia's simple "Hi" and hug. And lots of adjustments going forward, too.

Sandra Bullock, who picked up a leading actor trophy for her performance in 'The Blind Side,' presented the award to White and took an affectionate dig at the 88-year-old actress. CBS renews NCIS: Los Angeles and The Good Wife

by Allison Waldman, posted Jan 15th 2010 10:00AM
good_wife_NCIS_laThis should come as no surprise to anybody who's been following the current television season. CBS has renewed The Good Wife and NCIS: LA for second seasons. Both shows are part of a solid Tuesday night lineup for CBS, amassing strong Nielsen ratings and even better numbers in total viewers, holding much of the audience from the NCIS lead in. All that adds up to a winning formula, and thus, CBS wasn't going to break up a good thing.

As for the quality of the two shows, they both deserved renewal. They've improved as the season has progressed, especially The Good Wife. What started out as a good premise has morphed into a very compelling legal drama with a lingering subplot – exactly what did Alicia's husband do to warrant the wrath of the enemies that have put him in prison? It's also a terrific set of actors and a star-turn by Julianna Margulies.

The Good Wife: Pilot (series premiere)

by Allison Waldman, posted Sep 22nd 2009 11:02PM
Julianna_Margulies_The_Good_Wife(S01E01) You might think that you're watching a variation on Law & Order when the first few minutes of The Good Wife commences. It's not just that Chris Noth is in the scene, looking every bit like Mike Logan. It's more that the scene is ripped from the headlines. Disgraced politician -- Elliot Spitzer, David Vitter, Jim McGreevey -- caught in a sex scandal. His innocent, good wife, standing beside him.

As Alicia Florrick, the wife of a Chicago prosecutor who was caught sucking the toes of prostitutes and forced to resign, Julianna Margulies masters the shell-shocked, distant gaze. Her eyes, in fact, fixate on a stray thread on his suit. But the fog lifts quickly and away from the podium, reality comes in the form of a smack in the face. She delivers the smack, and from that moment, you're on her side. Maybe it was a cheap trick, but it worked.

VIDEO: Julianna Margulies Talks 'The Good Wife,' 'ER,' Fave Shows & More

by Maggie Furlong, posted Sep 22nd 2009 1:00PM
Julianna Margulies, 'The Good Wife'Julianna Margulies became a household name on 'ER,' but since nurse Carol Hathaway said goodbye to County General, we haven't seen too much of her on TV ... until now.

As the titular character in 'The Good Wife' (premieres Tues., Sept. 22, 10PM ET on CBS), Margulies' Alicia Florrick is a woman shamed by the very public sex scandal her politico husband (Chris Noth) gets caught up in. With him locked up, Alicia goes back to work as a lawyer, juggling her career and being the sole breadwinner while still dealling with the public scrutiny.

AOL TV got the scoop on the new show from Margulies, then got her to dish on the ridiculousness that is posing for billboards and magazine covers, her plans for retirement and which late night guy she loves most.

TV Squad previews CBS's new shows

by Allison Waldman, posted Jul 2nd 2009 2:00PM
cbs_logoGenerally speaking, CBS had a strong 2008, developing one bona fide hit drama -- The Mentalist -- even though shows like The Ex-List never found an audience or a critical plaudit. Ironically, I liked The Ex-List based on the screener I reviewed last summer, so go figure. Sometimes a preview can inform you about a show's potential and sometimes it's just the best it'll ever be.

CBS has shared previews for the new season and we've had a chance to take a look. There are star vehicles for Jenna Elfman, Alex O'Loughlin and Julianna Margulies, which would seem logical based on the success of Simon Baker as The Mentalist. CBS is counting on familiar, popular TV stars to win over audiences. Will the strategy work? It's probably too soon to tell.
