Regis Tells 'The Talk' That His 'Live!' Departure Wasn't About Money (VIDEO)

by Stephanie Opella, posted Nov 29th 2011 5:45PM
Regis Philbin may not be on 'Live!' anymore, but that doesn't mean he's done with daytime TV. Tuesday on 'The Talk,' (weekdays, syndicated on CBS) he was crowned the 'King of Television,' and sat on a throne wearing a crown, cape and holding a scepter while he talked about why he left the show he created 28 years ago.

Julie Chen started in on him with a true or false question: "Were you asked to stay at an insulting pay cut?" Regis confirmed that a contract extension at a lower rate was something that he discussed with ABC, but ultimately decided against. But Reeg wouldn't let Chen off the hook that easily. He jokingly screamed back at her, "There was a pay cut as there was in ALL OF THE NETWORKS, HELLO!" Chen awkwardly protested that there hadn't been any cuts at CBS, and the two went back and forth for awhile until Regis mercifully changed the subject.

Mary Steenburgen Jokes With 'The Talk' Ladies About Ted Danson's In-Bed Interview (VIDEO)

by Alex Moaba, posted Nov 21st 2011 4:30PM
When Ted Danson was on 'The Talk' (weekdays, syndicated on CBS) a few weeks ago, he conducted his interview from bed, in pajamas, surrounded by the talkshow's group of female hosts. As it turns out, Danson's wife, actress Mary Steenburgen, wasn't watching the interview live, but she did hear about it ... right before boarding an airplane.

Steenburgen described getting a text from a friend with the message, "Oh my god, I'm laughing so hard at your husband in bed with all those women," right before she had to shut her phone down for a five-hour flight.

Kathy Griffin Would Like to Be Made an Honorary Kardashian (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted Sep 16th 2011 6:15PM
Kathy Griffin on 'The Talk'Kathy Griffin has won two Emmys for 'My Life on the D-List,' which has been nominated for Outstanding Reality Program in each of its six seasons. She has one more chance at it on Sunday's Emmy Awards. Might she have won more if she had a more famous name? Kardashian, for example? Griffin went on 'The Talk' (weekdays, 7AM on CBS) to talk about her chances and lobby Kris Jenner for a name change.

Griffin said she had lost to 'Deadliest Catch' in the past, which she found ironic, since that's a nickname for her ladyparts, she joked. Julie Chen asked Griffin who some of her big targets were these days, and she turned to Kris Jenner, who was sitting next to her, and said, "Ear muffs." Then they showed a clip of Griffin's less-than-kind wishes on Kim Kardashian's wedding site.

'Big Brother' Winner Rachel and the Zingbot Stop by 'The Talk' (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted Sep 15th 2011 7:00PM
'Big Brother' winner Rachel Reilly on 'The Talk'Rachel Reilly won more competitions than any other contestant on this season of 'Big Brother' on her way to winning the entire competition. She made sure to remind the audience of 'The Talk' (weekdays, syndicated on CBS) of her stellar performance, and also brought the Zingbot along with her, much to the chagrin of Julie Chen.

Now that Reilly has won a half a million dollars, her plans for her wedding to fellow contestant Brendon Villegas have changed a bit. "Oh my gosh, it's going to be the dream wedding," she said. "He actually had told me that week, he said, 'If you win the final HOH, then I will vote for you because you earned it,' and I did! I won more competitions than anyone this summer."

Did Adam, Porsche or Rachel Win 'Big Brother 13'? (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Sep 15th 2011 2:16AM
'Big Brother' season finaleIt went by so fast. It seems like just yesterday Rachel was crying on 'Big Brother' (Wed., 9:30PM ET on CBS) and driving everyone at home and in the house crazy. And now here she is in the finale with probably the best chance of winning between the Final Three. But first, she has to win the last HOH competition!

It's been a while since we checked in with the Houseguests, and while we were away, Rachel walked away with the win in Round One of a three-part HOH competition. When it comes to simply hanging onto things, nobody seems able to touch her. Adam gave up quickly, while Porsche hung in there until she was about to hurl.

Lorraine Bracco Loves 'Rizzoli & Isles,' Even Though It's Not About the Mob (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted Sep 12th 2011 7:00PM
Lorraine Bracco of 'Rizzoli & Isles' on ''The Talk'Lorraine Bracco gets to play against type on 'Rizzoli & Isles' as Angela Rizzoli, as the mother of Angie Harmon's Detective Jane Rizzoli. But according to Julie Chen on 'The Talk' (weekdays, syndicated on CBS), Bracco still sometimes has trouble shaking her roots in mobster movies like 'Goodfellas' and TV shows like 'The Sopranos.'

"It's fun," Bracco said of playing Rizzoli. "It's so different for me because she's kind of funny." Funny wasn't exactly the mood of the day when she was playing Karen Hill in 'Goodfellas,' but she has her fans. Chen recounted people coming up to Bracco in a restaurant and "kissing her ring, like she's the Godfather."

Julie Chen Teases the New Women of 'The Talk' on 'Late Late Show' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Sep 6th 2011 9:30AM
Julie Chen, 'The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson'You can always tell when Julie Chen is on 'The Late Late Show' (Weeknights, 12:37AM ET on CBS), because Craig Ferguson is on his best behavior. After all, her husband is Les Moonves, the head of the network.

He actually asked her about the new season of 'The Talk,' which has been getting a lot of press due to the cast shake-up. Out are Holly Robinson Peete and Leah Remini. In is Sheryl Underwood as a regular co-host.

"We just announced that joining us at the desk will be Molly Shannon from 'Saturday Night Live.'" Chen said, to Ferguson's delight. Shannon has been tapped as a guest co-host for the month of September.

Will Shelly or Brendon Get Evicted from the 'Big Brother' House? (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Aug 18th 2011 11:59PM
'Big Brother 13' live evictionWould it be Shelly going home, or would Daniele get to preside over the eviction of Brendon a second time on 'Big Brother' (Thu., 9PM ET on CBS)? After floundering last week, when Lawon volunteered to get eliminated because he had delusions of a super-powered return and Brendon returned to the house instead, Daniele got her game back on track this week.

She won HOH, and immediately started testing the waters with other possible strategies. She always had in the back of her mind the notion of backdooring Brendon, but it was a gamble when she didn't nominate him.

By not nominating him right off, though, he wasn't guaranteed a play in the POV competition. That gamble paid off big time when Adam won and pulled himself off the block. Now, there was no way for Brendon to save himself, and all she needed to do was ensure she had enough votes to evict him again.

'The Talk' Loses Hosts Leah Remini and Holly Robinson Peete

by Maggie Furlong, posted Aug 15th 2011 8:40PM
Leah Remini & Holly Robinson PeetePeople are certainly talking about 'The Talk,' but it's not necessarily a good thing.

A few weeks back, rumors swirled that Sharon Osbourne would be leaving 'The Talk.' While Osbourne herself told us she was just taking a little break to spend time with her husband Ozzy, it looks like the same can't be said for two of her co-hosts.

Leah Remini and Holly Robinson Peete are reportedly not returning to CBS' daytime chat show for its second season.

According to Deadline and sources close to production, the talk show will be undergoing several changes next year. Contract options were renewed for series creator and co-host Sara Gilbert and her fellow 'Talk'-ers Julie Chen (who's married to CBS boss man Les Moonves) and Sharon Osbourne.

The options for Remini and Peete were not picked up, though there's no word yet on whether they'll remain with the show in a more limited capacity.

'Big Brother' Evicts Another, Crowns a New Head of Household (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Jul 22nd 2011 2:30AM
Cassi, 'Big Brother 13'After Dominic saved his own skin in the Power of Veto competition, Jordan put up Cassi and Shelly for Eviction. This meant yet another newbie would definitely be going home on this week's 'Big Brother' (Thu., 8PM ET on CBS), making the Head of Household competition more critical than ever.

Jordan may not be happy with her decision to stand by her alliance with Rachel and Brendon, but she did, leaving Shelly and Cassi no choice but to fight for themselves. Cassi, however, decided to take the direct approach and talk to Rachel and Brendon about what happened between them.

Message from Evel Dick, Eviction and New Head of Household on 'Big Brother' (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Jul 15th 2011 1:57AM
Evel Dick Donato & Daniele Donato, 'Big Brother 13'It was a jam-packed hour of 'Big Brother' (Thu., 9PM ET on CBS) as Julie Chen presented the Houseguests with a message from Evel Dick and put Daniele in an awkward position. And all of this before the live Eviction and HOH competition.

Dick's message didn't offer any more details to what we already knew, which was that he left for a personal emergency not directly involving his immediate family. He apologized to Daniele for not getting to spend the summer with her, saying, "We seem to get along the best when we're on 'Big Brother' playing together, and that's a big loss in my life."

Craig Ferguson Wants Julie Chen to Yell at Him in Mandarin And Pull His Hair (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Jul 13th 2011 5:46AM
Julie Chen, 'The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson'Craig Ferguson was genuinely impressed when he found out that Mandarin was Julie Chen's first language on 'The Late Late Show' (Weeknights, 12:37AM ET on CBS). But then he slipped into his creepy mode and seemed to want her to help fulfill some Asian fantasy he has.

"Say, 'Craig, you're a very naughty boy' at me in Mandarin," he asked her. However, as she only speaks conversational Mandarin, she said she can't say that exactly.

She did, however, come up with a substitute, at which point he wanted her to add the stimulus of pulling his hair. See what we mean about this being some kind of strange fetish/fantasy?

Top 5 TVR Clips of the Week: 'The Talk' Reacts Live to Anthony Verdict, Regis and Larry David Get Awkward & More (VIDEO)

by Alex Moaba, posted Jul 9th 2011 12:50PM

What a week it was. We emerged from our barbeque and beer induced long-weekend slumber on Tuesday just in time for the most shocking court verdict since the O.J. Simpson trial. The ladies of 'The Talk' gave Nancy Grace a run for her money, reacting live to the verdict with tears, confusion and bewilderment.

But other fun things happened too. Betty White played the drums. Bristol Palin and Barbara Walters treated us to one of the most uncomfortable sex discussions ever. Regis Philbin and Larry David had their long-awaited sit-down, and it was as awkward as we hoped. Kathie Lee and Hoda tackled the modern scourge of people talking on their cell phones while sitting on the toilet.

Onto the videos! Check out our Top 5 clips of the week and vote for your favorite in our weekly poll.

Kathy Griffin and the Women of 'The Talk' Discuss Their Pink Buttons (VIDEO)

by Nick Zaino, posted Jul 8th 2011 5:40PM
Kathy Griffin points to her 'Pink Button' on 'The Talk'And now to test the limits of our euphemistic abilities, a clip of Kathy Griffin and the women of 'The Talk' (weekdays, syndicated on CBS) talking about "My New Pink Button." This is, in Julie Chen's words, "a cosmetic dye that temporarily restores color to your genital area." At least, that's where the discussion started, and it drifted into more questionable territory from there.

Griffin imagined the impressive application of such a product. "You're taking your clothes off and he's like, what, it just keeps getting better, and you're like, 'Check this out,'" she said. Leah Remini said Pink Button could be useful to some women, but wouldn't maybe not her, specifically. "Some stuff can look like it was in a small house fire," she said. As the audience began to woo and laugh, she quickly added, "I'm not saying mine."

Getting even more personal, as is her wont, Griffin revealed her nickname for her happy lady part. "I call her 'Little Kathy,'" she said, "and she's always in a good mood and she goes, 'Hi, come on in!'"
