Alex Karev and His Brother Fight on 'Grey's Anatomy' (VIDEO)
by Jane Boursaw, posted Apr 2nd 2010 1:24AM
Two Karevs in the same room together? There's gonna be trouble and, sure enough, there was trouble on 'Grey's Anatomy' (Thu., 9PM ET on ABC). And a few headbutts and knuckle-punches, too. Leave it up to Bailey to pull the squabbling brothers off each other. But at least the fight offered a few clues to Alex's past, including the fact that he's got daddy issues and his family's completely dysfunctional. It's no wonder Alex was a mess when he started at Seattle Grace.

Dr. Webber Gets the Lingo Wrong on 'Grey's Anatomy' (VIDEO)
by Jane Boursaw, posted Mar 25th 2010 11:22PM
Poor Dr. Webber. He's had enough problems with his alcohol issues, and now he just wants to fit in on 'Grey's Anatomy' (Thu., 9PM ET on ABC). But he's failing miserably – at least in the lingo department."If I wasn't happily married, I'd hit her," he says to Alex in the operating room, referring to a female co-worker. "I'd hit her hard."
After Alex sets him straight on the proper term -- "Sir, I think what you wanted to say was 'hit that'" – Bailey sets them both straight. And you don't want to mess with Bailey.

Does Justin Chambers have the best girly scream ever?
by Jane Boursaw, posted Oct 11th 2009 11:03AM
A lot happened in this week's Grey's Anatomy, including Meredith making the difficult decision to give her dad part of her liver. That's convenient for the real-life Ellen Pompeo, who just had her baby on Sept. 15. And there's still the issue of the Mercy West merger, which docs will get the axe, and the usual patient drama and staff angst. But what stood out for me happened in the first few seconds of this episode, when Alex stepped outside of Derek's trailer and came face to face with a bear. Alex screamed! The bear screamed! Everyone screamed! But mostly Alex!
I wonder how many takes it took for Justin Chambers to get that awesome girly scream. Or perhaps it was dubbed in? Whatever the case, it surely is one of the best TV screams I've heard in quite some time, and Michael agreed that Alex should get more storylines with funny situations.
What did you think of Alex's scream? Are there any others in recent TV history that even come close?
Jane After Dark: Grey's Anatomy season five; Private Practice season two
by Jane Boursaw, posted Oct 4th 2009 10:00AM
With Grey's Anatomy and its spin-off Private Practice starting new seasons, I decided to refresh my brain with the previous seasons of these two ABC shows. So this week's Jane After Dark was all about the dreamy doctors. I've been on board with Private Practice since the beginning, and was especially interested to see what happened with Violet and her baby in the season three premiere. Happy ending there, thank goodness! And while Grey's Anatomy has certainly ebbed and flowed since it began in 2005, I've stuck with it because I've grown to love the dysfunctional characters with all their baggage. It makes my life seem just that much better.
Grey's Anatomy, Season Five
There were parts of this season that drove me a little nuts, like Izzie having "mind-boggling sex" with dead Denny. That whole storyline made me want to jump off a roof, but there were plenty of highlights to the season, as well...
Grey's Anatomy: Freedom (season finale)
by Jane Boursaw, posted May 23rd 2008 1:47AM
"The pager is sacred. Sacred sparkle." -- IzzieA sparkly pager, some quick-drying cement, and a field of candles all play into tonight's 2-hour episode -- the Season Four finale of Grey's Anatomy. Has it really been only four seasons? Because it seems like so much more.
Anyway, tonight we learn a little more about some of the interns' history. For one thing, via a therapy session (and why can't I have Amy Madigan as my therapist?), we learn that young Meredith saw her mom slit her wrists, then had to wait for her to pass out before calling 911.
Meredith says her mom wanted to die, but by the end of the episode, she figures out that she really didn't want to die. Being a brilliant surgeon, her mom would have known the faster road to death entailed slitting her carotid artery.
T.R. Knight still not sure of his fate on Grey's
by Isabelle Carreau, posted Jun 5th 2007 2:22PM
At the end of the Grey's Anatomy season finale, many fans wondered if T.R. Knight, who plays George, would be returning to the show comes next season. Without spoiling it too much for those who still haven't watched the finale, George's future is left open-ended.Gossip columnists like TV Guide's Michael Ausiello and E!'s Kristin Veitch have been leaking out information about George's future. Question is are those spoilers right? Especially when T.R. Knight claims that he still doesn't know what his future on the show is?
Send a question to the Grey's Anatomy cast
by Bob Sassone, posted Apr 25th 2006 11:45AM
OK, it's not a hotline right on the set,
but this could be cool. ABC is letting fans e-mail questions to the cast and
crew of Grey's Anatomy, and the questions might be answered on a future DVD release of the show, either the
second season release or a set after that. The second season DVD set, by the way, will be released on September 12.
