'Grey's Anatomy' Is Getting the 'Sliding Doors' Treatment, Reuniting Derek and Addison

by Maggie Furlong, posted Dec 3rd 2011 10:00AM
Twitter got 'Grey's Anatomy' fans very excited this week, but were the tweets misleading?

'Private Practice' star Kate Walsh and the shows' creator Shonda Rhimes were all a-tweet about Walsh being back on the 'Grey's' set to shoot. But it's not another crossover episode (although Rhimes promises there will be one again soon) -- Walsh's Addison is there to reunite with her TV ex Derek (Patrick Dempsey) for a "what if?" episode.

TV Line is reporting that a very special February sweeps episode of 'Grey's' will see the gang at Seattle Grace in an alternate reality. A very alternate reality, one where Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) isn't so dark and twisty, her surgical pro mom Ellis (Kate Burton) never got Alzheimer's and -- brace yourselves, MerDer diehards -- Addison and Derek never broke up.

Kate Walsh Talks About Her 'Private Practice' Pregnancy Love Triangle (VIDEO)

by Alex Moaba, posted Oct 18th 2011 3:45PM
Kate Walsh's 'Private Practice' character Addison Montgomery wants to get pregnant. The only trouble is, her on-screen boyfriend Sam Bennett, played by Taye Diggs, isn't quite on the same page. Addison goes to Jake Riley, a fertility doctor played by Benjamin Bratt, for "help getting pregnant," but we hear the lines in their patient/doctor relationship start to get blurred.

Walsh went on 'Access Hollywood Live' (weekdays, syndicated on NBC) to talk about the new developments, but remained cagey about the looming love triangle. "We want that to happen for your character ... he offered you a baby," Kit Hoover said. "Well, he is an IVF specialist ... how convenient for us," Walsh said.

Kate Walsh Met Charlie Sheen at the Roast, Jokes That They're Lovers (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Sep 28th 2011 4:15AM
Kate Walsh, 'Chelsea Lately'If you were frantically trying to figure out the connection between Kate Walsh and Charlie Sheen during his Comedy Central Roast, to understand why she was on the dais, there's a reason you didn't come up with anything. On 'Chelsea Lately' (Weeknights, 11PM ET on E!), Walsh admitted she and Sheen met that night.

"Literally right before I went on I was like, 'Hey, how you doing? Sorry,'" she explained.

The two must have hit it off, though, as friends because she wound up watching both the Roast and the premiere of 'Two and a Half Men' at Sheen's house. Handler, of course, assumed that meant the two were dating, which Walsh was more than happy to confirm.

Charlie Sheen Roast Adds William Shatner, Kate Walsh and Jon Lovitz

by Alex Moaba, posted Sep 8th 2011 3:45PM
The Charlie Sheen Roast just got a little more weird, and significantly more random. Comedy Central announced that former roastee William Shatner, in addition to 'Private Practice' actress Kate Walsh and Jon Lovitz, will be joining Mike Tyson and a slew of stand-up comedians in the public tarring and feathering of America's most embarrassing celebrity.

In addition to those stars, the network also announced that comedians Patrice O'Neal and Amy Schumer will be on the roast dias. Former Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash will also be there, but it's unclear whether he will be a roaster, or just take a long nap under his giant hat.

The full roast roster also includes previously-announced Roastmaster Seth MacFarlane, Mike Tyson, Steve-O, Anthony Jeselnik and RoastMaster General Jeffrey Ross.

Patrick Dempsey May Not Be Leaving 'Grey's Anatomy' After All

by Catherine Lawson, posted Jun 1st 2011 3:40AM
Patrick DempseyReports of McDreamy's demise may have been premature. Yesterday we reported that Patrick Dempsey said he's leaving 'Grey's Anatomy' at the end of the upcoming Season 8.

Now it seems that he may have to put away those golf clubs and get out the stethoscope again. According to E! Online, McDreamy misspoke. Kind of.

His rep. told E! News that when Dempsey told Italian 'Vanity Fair' that "It's gonna be my last. ... For me it's done," what he really meant was: "He was referring to the fact that his contract is up at the end of next season and we have no idea what the future holds."

So that's all cleared up then. Several members of the 'Grey's' cast -- including Ellen Pompeo -- have contracts expiring at the end of Season 8 and right now it's all up in the air. It's possible that there could be a mass exodus, but it's also possible that some of them will be renewed.

Kate Walsh Cracks Up When David Letterman Eats Her New Line of Cosmetics (VIDEO)

by Jason Hughes, posted Feb 3rd 2011 3:27AM
Kate Walsh, 'Late Show with David Letterman'Lots of celebrities get into the cosmetics business, so Kate Walsh isn't doing anything particularly innovative with her new line, called Boyfriend. However, she did get a rather unique endorsement on 'Late Show' (Weeknights, 11:35PM ET on CBS).

She had a sample kit for David Letterman, and everything was going smoothly. He asked her about when to use the cream, and whether it was appropriate for after a bath. Before she could finish her explanation/pitch, things went off the rails when Letterman scooped it out with his fingers and put it into his mouth.

Through fits of laughter, and after a second dip, Walsh asserted, "This is not pudding!"

Ryan Murphy and Kings of Leon Fight About 'Glee,' P. Diddy Books 'Hawaii Five-0' Role and More

by Jean Bentley, posted Jan 26th 2011 6:15PM
Ryan Murphy, GleeThem's fightin' words: 'Glee' creator Ryan Murphy and Kings of Leon drummer Nathan Followill got into a war of words today after Murphy made like Cee Lo and said "Forget you" (the unedited version) to the band for not allowing 'Glee' to use their music on the show.

"Dear Ryan Murphy, let it go. See a therapist, get a manicure, buy a new bra," tweeted the drummer, according to Vulture.

Murphy responded via statement to Perez Hilton, saying "Wow. That's a homophobe badly in need of some education." Followill later apologized.

In other TV news ...

'Teen Mom 2' posted its best ratings yet last night. More than twice as many people tuned into the show than MTV's other new series, 'Skins,' with 4 million viewers and a 3.9 demo rating. [The Hollywood Reporter]

Speaking of 'Skins,' MTV says it will not cancel the series. "MTV stands by the US adaptation of 'Skins' and the vision of its creator Bryan Elsley," said a spokesperson. Plus, 'Skins' might've landed a new sponsor: PETA. [THR]

Kate Walsh will visit Seattle Grace for the musical episode of 'Grey's Anatomy.' Addison will be called back to deal with a medical emergency, presumably a baby-related issue of Callie's that will inspire all the singing. [TVLine]

'Private Practice': The End of the Day, or the End of a Life? (VIDEO)

by Oliver Miller, posted Oct 29th 2010 9:31AM
'Private Practice': The End of the Day, or the End of a Life? There's nothing better than leaving the office at the end of the workday. Sure, there are still minor nuisances: powering down your computer, gathering up your stuff ... Still, you're essentially free -- freed from drudgery. Unless something goes wrong.

[Warning: Spoiler alert.]

Charlotte King (KaDee Strickland) thinks she's free. But nothing could be further from the case. She tries to leave at the end of the day on 'Private Practice' (Thu., 10PM ET on ABC). Not only does not she make it out the door -- she might not make it out alive.

Ms. King is the Chief of Staff at St. Ambrose Hospital. She's just finished a night of work on Halloween Eve -- she had to stay late on the holiday, but soon that minor annoyance will be the least of her worries. Charlotte and her fiancée Cooper (Paul Adelstein) had a fight earlier in the day. But Coop made it up to her with a gift; a miniature layer cake in a tasteful box. She glances at her fiancée's photo, grabs the box ... And then she's walking out of her office.

And that's when it happens.

'Private Practice': Love in an Elevator (VIDEO)

by Oliver Miller, posted Oct 22nd 2010 7:23AM
'Private Practice': Love in an ElevatorMedical shows can be so tense. There's never any time for the characters to relax, and everyone's always rushing to surgery or dealing with the latest life-and-death situation. But we get a break from that on the latest 'Private Practice' (Thu., 10PM ET on ABC).

[Warning: Spoiler alert.]

The episode starts with the three main female characters just standing around in an elevator. Hardly the high-stakes drama we're used to. Addison, Amelia and Violet (played by Kate Walsh, Caterina Scorsone and Amy Brenneman) are killing time, and the trio use the elevator ride to discuss their love lives.

Amelia complains that she hasn't had sex in "weeks." Man, that's rough. "I need to get laid! I need to get laid really bad!" she says.

'Private Practice' co-stars Kate Walsh and Taye Diggs sat down to answer fan questions for our Outside the Box interview show. So, what question does Walsh most dislike getting? Answer: "Which co-star is the better kisser."

Plus, the castmates talked about where their characters are headed, the more adult situations they are facing and the status of all the relationships on the show. That begged the question from Diggs to Walsh: Can Addison live without drama?

[Warning: Spoiler alert.]

Last season, Dell Parker (Chris Lowell) died following a car accident. Dell left his daughter Betsy Parker behind, and Betsy's mother is dead as well -- so the little girl was left in the care of an aunt. Now, the aunt suddenly arrives at the clinic, abandoning Betsy there. The doctors don't know what to do. And Betsy (Hailey Sole) has no family left to help her.

'Private Practice': A Girl and a Gun (VIDEO)

by Oliver Miller, posted Oct 8th 2010 6:47AM
'Private Practice': A Girl and a GunThe director Jean-Luc Godard famously said that in order to create drama, you only need two things: "A girl and a gun." This certainly holds true for the latest episode of 'Private Practice' (Thu., 10PM ET on ABC).

[Warning: Spoiler alert.]

While the other doctors are occupied with their own endless melodramas (which includes tonight's crossover with 'Grey's Anatomy'), Dr. Pete Wilder (Tim Daly) has to deal with something a little more solid and tangible. Such as a gun being shoved in his face. Pete volunteers to help out at a friend's home medical clinic. But he is shocked to learn that his friend Gibby (James Remar) performs surgery out of the back room of his house. And when a teenage girl is shot, the situation gets even more tense.

The young woman has been shot three times, and is quickly bleeding to death. Her boyfriend Alex (Preston Flagg) stands nervously by her side as the doctors go to work. But the girl's life can't be saved in the tiny surgery clinic. Pete says that they have to call an ambulance ... and that's when the gun comes out.

The 'Private Practice' Cast Teases Love, Marriage & Sex In New Season (VIDEO)

by Maggie Furlong, posted Sep 22nd 2010 12:00PM
Let's be honest: Last season of 'Private Practice' was a real downer. But this season is starting off with a bang, a surprise and some life-changing orgasms, according to the cast.

I stopped by the set while they were shooting their farewells to Dell over his grave (we'll miss you, Chris Lowell!), and they were all incredibly eager to talk about the theme of Season 4: adult relationships.

Check out what Kate Walsh, Taye Diggs, Amy Brenneman, Tim Daly, Audra McDonald, Paul Adelstein, KaDee Strickland, Caterina Scorsone and Brian Benben teased about the sexy new season (premieres Thurs., Sept. 23, 10PM ET on ABC), wedding bells and more.
