It was the end of an era for Kate Gosselin as the series finale of 'Kate Plus 8' (Mon., 9PM ET on TLC) marked the end of a crazy ride in the spotlight. Gosselin first shot to stardom alongside her husband Jon and their brood of 8 children when 'Jon & Kate Plus 8' premiered in 2007.By 2009, the pair were on the cover of every tabloid magazine in the country, and their Season 5 premiere netted a record 9.8 million viewers.
But things changed dramatically after that, as the couple split and Jon was dropped from the show. Since then, ratings have declined steadily until TLC pulled the plug after 150 episodes.
Ashley Reaches Her Breaking Point With Kate on 'Kate Plus 8' (VIDEO)

And what cause you to leave your last place of employment? If you're Ashley from 'Kate Plus 8' (Mon., 9PM ET on TLC), that answer is pizza. Particularly, four slices of pizza. That was just the breaking point after a stressful trip that pushed Ashley to the edges of her tolerance with boss Kate Gosselin. Gosselin was ranting because Ashley had watched a movie -- camping, right? -- while she felt like she had to do everything, and no one offered their assistance.
"That's not paid help in my opinion," Gosselin said. "I'm sorry."

While camping can be a lot of fun, it's also a lot of work. We can't even imagine trying to do it with eight young kids, no matter how many helpers you have. But that's what Kate Gosselin is doing on 'Kate Plus 8' (Mon., 9PM ET on TLC).When the boys start arguing over who sat where and when and then crying when one of them knocks the other over, Kate tries to stay out of it. Letting them resolve their own problems isn't a bad idea from time to time but you can only ignore loud screaming for so long before it drives you crazy.
All in all, though, it was a successful start to another outdoor adventure for the Gosselins, something we know Kate is no fan of based on her disastrous camping adventure on 'Sarah Palin's Alaska,' but it was good of her to let the kids experience the fun ... even if it may be the only time she does it (we doubt it).
Kate Gosselin Builds a Chicken Door on 'Kate Plus 8' (VIDEO)

Perhaps no one was more surprised to see Kate Gosselin build a door than Kate Gosselin. On 'Kate Plus 8' (Mon., 9PM ET on TLC), she and her friend Ashley decided to take on the task of constructing a door for the chickens in the barn by themselves. After making some silly mistakes, like forgetting how gravity impacts non-secured objects, they finally managed to pull it together. With some support from her daughter, who said it may take years to finish, the door was put up and went for a test swing.
"Now I know why organic eggs are so expensive," Gosselin said. "I figured if Ashley and I could build a door, there's pretty much nothing we can't do."
Kate Gosselin and the Kids Talk About Mommy Dating on 'Kate Plus 8' (VIDEO)

With Kate Gosselin looking to start dating and the kids growing up, it might just be a blessing for the family that TLC has decided to cancel 'Kate Plus 8' (Mon., 9PM ET on TLC). In this week's episode, Kate talked about how she's planning to approach the situation."I'll have to be sure they're in for the long haul before the kids even get to meet them," she said.
Not having a camera crew following her around everywhere might just help her meet a guy for the right reasons. As 'The Bachelor' and 'The Bachelorette' have proven over the years, plenty of people look to find "love" in front of a camera solely for the hopes of getting famous or boosting their careers in some way.
Kate Gosselin's Kids Really Want Her to Start Dating Again (VIDEO)

Single white female reality star with eight kids seeks perfect man to marry. If Kate Gosselin were to write a singles ad, it might look something like that. Gosselin said on 'Today' (weekdays, 7AM on NBC) that she's ready to date again, and that her kids are perhaps even more eager to see her find a new husband than she is.Gosselin said the kids are doing well, and we'll get to see for ourselves Monday night when 'Kate Plus 8' returns to TLC. "The kids are doing fantastic," she said. "I don't think that they could be doing any better." The only thing is, they would like to see mom married again. Unfortunately there are a few giant obstacles standing in the way of her dating life: her work schedule, the kids themselves, and her reality TV game.
"So, I don't know. I don't know where life will take me," she said. "I'm hoping that that person is out there because the kids, on a daily basis are just begging for me to get married again. They bring it up all the time and I'm like, I don't ... I'm not dating anyone."
Kate Gosselin Takes All Eight Kids Grocery Shopping on 'Kate Plus 8' (VIDEO)

Kate Gosselin declared it a hodgepodge dinner and took on the daunting task of taking all eight of her children to the grocery store with her on 'Kate Plus 8' (Wed., 10PM ET on TLC). With the sextuplets now barely in grade school, and the twins only six years older than that, we're talking a lot of wound up personalities. To give them some direction, she gave them each a task in the store. Each child was responsible for one part of dinner: Main course, veggies, fruits, etc. Still, there was the usual bickering, boredom and clamoring for attention you get at a grocery story with young children.
The cashier told Gosselin and her kids that she hadn't seen all of them together like this since the little ones were all in strollers.

If people ever decide they've seen enough of Kate Gosselin and her brood on television, and TLC cancels 'Kate Plus 8' (Mon., 10PM ET on TLC), she may have found her fallback career. This week, Gosselin got the chance to first ride in, and then drive, a race car around the track while her kids watched. And she simply couldn't get enough of it.
"I could have done it all day. It was strangely mesmerizingly fun," Gosselin said of the experience. Her only complaint? "It wasn't fast enough."

Leave it to Kate Gosselin to turn a harmless educational bonding activity into a gross-out overshare moment. On a special 'Kate Plus 8' (Mon., 10PM ET on TLC), Mamma Kate actually came up with a fun and cute idea: Teach the kids to hatch their own chicks around Easter time.
Things went smoothly for the most part, with the kiddos looking forward to their chicks hatching from their eggs. But when Kate's impatient daughter called the exercise "boring," Kate responded with some news that left the kids a bit gobsmacked.

Reality star and recent 'Dancing With the Stars' ejectee Kate Gosselin may be flying solo as a divorced mom, but she won't be without co-stars in her upcoming series of 'Kate Plus 8' specials on TLC.An official for the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry confirmed to EW.com that Gosselin had filed the proper paperwork that will allow her eight children to appear in the shows, a spin-off of the original 'Jon & Kate Plus 8' series that brought the Gosselin saga into our living rooms, for better or worse.
The children aren't scheduled to appear in the other Kate Gosselin reality series, 'Twist of Kate,' however. That series, which premieres on TLC this summer, will feature the ex-Mrs. Jon travelling around the country, meeting families who face major home/life/work challenges and then attempting to "walk a mile in their shoes."

Proof the world is ending: I agree with Nancy Grace
by Kona Gallagher, posted Oct 7th 2009 9:13PM

I'll admit it: I watch Jon & Kate Plus Eight. In all of the episodes I've seen, I've never listened to Jon Gosselin speak and thought, "You sir, have missed your vocational calling in the Rocket Sciences," but I also didn't think he was a complete idiot. Recently, my view has changed.
Let's not even get into the wisdom of dating a 22-year-old, or partying on a yacht in France while your wife is back home in Pennsylvania caring for your eight children. The man simply does not know the meaning of the phrase, "quit while you're ahead." To wit: his ridiculous defense on Larry King of his decision to halt production on Jon & Kate as soon as it became Kate Plus Eight, and his Ed Hardy-wearing ass got fired.
Gosselin also thought it would be wise to go on The Insider and square off against caustic defender of "justice," Nancy Grace. In this appearance, he further defends his actions, and claims that all of the decisions he makes are for his kids. Spoiler alert: This does not go well for him.
Jon Gosselin does damage control on Larry King

What a mess the whole Jon & Kate Plus 8 Minus 1 debacle is. Apparently, after learning that TLC was moving forward with a revamped show named Kate Plus 8, Jon demanded through his lawyers that the show cease production immediately or face criminal charges.
A letter from his attorney noted, "In the event that anyone enters the marital property, Jon Gosselin will notify the local authorities to effectuate police action against any trespassers." Keep in mind that Jon seemed fine with the kids being on the show last week, when he was still a big part of the show and was, in fact, filming an episode with the kids.
